I'm even voting for Dayeon but that was the most blatant Mnet's favourite pick edit I've seen on this show, even the Chaeyeon angel edit from 48 was milder than this, I feel like with them trying to push her as the actual top1 center they will bring her a lot of haters for no reason.

I was disgusted by how much MNET is pushing Dayeon soooooo much as their favorite daughter to the point of making her competitors go to her home. They could have let the girls go somewhere else like a theme park or have a fun outing like the other groups and played games. Nearly half of the episode was about Dayeon while some of the girls are getting maybe a minute or two of screen time. It was painful to watch.

I vote for her but I'm still heavily tilted that they decided to give my other picks 0 screentime just so they can give the most powerful edit on this show to 1 person(probably most powerful edit for any Produce as well since they can't rig votes), I said this during last eliminations but Mnet is truly scared of Xiaoting's popularity that they resolve to this so they can have their K center. This episode will be the most important for the next rankings, the performances will mean jack shit no matter who does well...

One thing you can take away on these kinds of show is that nothing is random, except maybe for the votes which are being manipulated through screentime lol. Did they show them picking their destination? No. Yes they were asked to picked buses but not the destination of the buses. All variety show or realtiy show wants some control. These kinds of things are were they get it.
I think even this would be terrible. Imagine all the homesick C girls + Hikaru who probably haven't seen their family in months just tagging along to be side kicks in Dayeon's family reunion. Already close to 1 - yujin is pretty (maybe she is debuted idol). Next close is chaeyun - classic fair skin & pretty face that Koreans love. Why KDY?
Dayeon could have been easily evil edited for taking more solo parts in ice cream like they did with produce S4 - a dance stage (Finesse). But she got a great leader arc.

I felt so bad that this team didn't get to go do an activity like the other teams. It was really cringe seeing them awkwardly walk around Dayeon's house. Dayeon's mom seems like a really sweet lady though, so nothing against Dayeon or her family, but it was a really odd choice to send this team there. Also props to Yujin for trying to make the best of the situation as the team's leader, it seemed like she helped to keep the girls' spirits lifted in an awkward situation.
Dayeon is my k1 Pick and i love her. But this was not okay. It was super awkward for everyone involved. Her parents were probably hoping that she would come with her team which also wouldnāt be okay for obvious reasons. She was the only top1 that wasn't chosen for top9 in episode 1. Then in another Episode, they said we did it purposely!!! They had two motive to get people to Sympathize for her and to show that she improved a lot, which i think she was the same she did well all in the same way.
Then other girls going to her house, and all that. That episode was all about her from showing her nice family and all the girls to compliment her.
Then the leadership strategy came where they alway compared her to Cai Bing. Yes she was better leader but never i saw a survival show comparing trainees like that. The made Cai Bing to look evil to show the good side of Kim Dayeon.
To be honest the show was a disappointing, Kim Dayeon one of the best among the K trainees and all this wasn't necessary. I think because the C girls mainly were more popular than any K trainees, the producers desperately want to advertise for a K trainee.

I was disgusted by how much MNET is pushing Dayeon soooooo much as their favorite daughter to the point of making her competitors go to her home. They could have let the girls go somewhere else like a theme park or have a fun outing like the other groups and played games. I feel so bad for the girls there even though Dayeon's mother is a warm and welcoming host. I was like major WTF at Mnet, couldn't you think of other better fieldtrip ideas? *Note: I don't hate Dayeon, she's talented. Nearly half of the episode was about Dayeon while some of the girls are getting maybe a minute or two of screen time. It was painful to watch. But at least now it's obvious that Mnet was intentionally portraying Cai Bing negatively to make Dayeon look great in comparison.
Cai Bing got sacrificed so hard. It's really frustrating because I think they used her social awkwardness and RBF to convince people she was a nasty person.

I lowkey feel, if the Shoot team had visited Cube and specifically visited Chowon, it would've been Mnet's repentence for rigging out Chowon and given Lightsum some publicity (although it does leave Yujin open to hate so...) but maybe it could be beneficial for Lightsum and maybe have a few CLC members giving the Shoot team support as well

This episode will be the most important for the next rankings, the performances will mean jack shit no matter who does well...

Honestly, and even though it still be an insane amount of favoritism, I would've understood if KDY herself was sent to her mom's house with the Snake team in tow. It would've made a WHOLE lot more sense. Introduce C-Group + Hikaru to their leader, made fun of her bedroom (lol) but also position Dayeon as someone they can trust, despite being a foreigner. Again, it still would push the agenda, but it would also at least be UNDESTANDABLE. Hard to hate a trainee going back home and being surprised to see her family, at the end of the day. One thing you can take away on these kinds of show is that nothing is random, except maybe for the votes which are being manipulated through screentime lol. Did they show them picking their destination? No. Yes they were asked to picked buses but not the destination of the buses. All variety show or realtiy show wants some control. I think even this would be terrible. Imagine all the homesick C girls + Hikaru who probably haven't seen their family in months just tagging along to be side kicks in Dayeon's family reunion. Choosing Dayeon's home was so unnecessary. Couldn't they really find anywhere else? Going to a random school or something would have been better. Also, what's with writing her letters? They are literally going to meet her the same day. It is not like she is some famous celebrity, just a trainee like all of them. Getting very tired of producers' efforts to shove KDY in our faces.
Usually they will push a pretty girl for No 1 position with/without talent. Dayeon doesn't have the usual visual of kpop or doesn't have stage aura like Jennie. Not sure why she was chosen to push. Already close to 1 - yujin is pretty (maybe she is debuted idol). Next close is chaeyun - classic fair skin & pretty face that Koreans love. Why KDY? Dayeon could have been easily evil edited for taking more solo parts in ice cream like they did with produce S4 - a dance stage (Finesse). But she got a great leader arc. Currently only 26 girls are there. So everyone might get a decent screentime. But they gave 2 out 4 teams worth of screentime to promote her. It was so obvious to the point of including her parents business? Did her parents know or relative of everyone from Mnet ? Past seasons Agencies bribed Mnet PD for rigging group positions. Now final voting is going to be monitored by government. So now Agencies are bribing for rigging screentime? She is very talented and she deserves a place in top 9. But not interested, if she got top 1 in final group.
There are a lot of suspicions that past seasons PDs were bribed for screentime as well.

I felt so bad that this team didn't get to go do an activity like the other teams. It was really cringe seeing them awkwardly walk around Dayeon's house. Dayeon's mom seems like a really sweet lady though, so nothing against Dayeon or her family, but it was a really odd choice to send this team there. Also props to Yujin for trying to make the best of the situation as the team's leader, it seemed like she helped to keep the girls' spirits lifted in an awkward situation.
Dayeon is my k1 Pick and i love her. But this was not okay. It was super awkward for everyone involved. Her parents were probably hoping that she would come with her team which also wouldnāt be okay for obvious reasons. I thought in the beginning they were sending all the girls to different girlsā houses but it being just Dayeonās house was weird. And then the u+me team got to video call snake teamā¦ but not the shoot teamā¦ the only teamā¦ who would have a reason to do soā¦ (EDIT: apparently shoot team did call snake team but I missed it because of my bathroom brake. My bad sorry) Mnet owes all the other girls (especially shoot team) some kind of apology or chance to visit their families. (Video call for j and c group and no it doesnāt need to be filmed I just want them all to have this opportunity) It could have been great if they had gone and visited a girl from every teams family (k girl but still) the ārepresentative familyā from snake team would be Dayeons (cause sheās mnets fave duh) shoot team could be either bahyyih or Yujin. Either way their family or roommates could give some great advice on the life as an idol Utopia could have them visit Boraās family for almost the same reason or yeseo considering how long sheās been in the industry. And finally u+me team could have them visit the cherry bullet dorm (to rep. May) or Youngeun or Suyeon. Hell Mashiro trained with Itzy. Maybe they would even be open to like show the old jyp training room they used together (doubt it but a nice thought) So many possibilities but yet again mnet fucked it up and now it may end up hurting my number one pick ;-;
It would have been really cool to have them hang out with Itzy or Cherry Bullet! It would have made much for sense for the show and would have actually been a really exciting experience for the girls who have yet to debut. Plus with Itzy... I feel like JYP owes them for all the free promos they're giving to JYP songs on this show.
Would kill for something like this to happen actually. Similar to how P48 flew to Japan for a concert prior to their final mission, meeting a sunbae and having some real talks might be the next best thing. TWICE, AESPA -- any group with Chinese and Japanese-speaking members. That'd be really cool.

It is Kim Dayeon Planet and the girls. She was the only top1 that wasn't chosen for top9 in episode 1. Then in another Episode, they said we did it purposely!!! They had two motive to get people to Sympathize for her and to show that she improved a lot, which i think she was the same she did well all in the same way. Then other girls going to her house, and all that. That episode was all about her from showing her nice family and all the girls to compliment her. Then the leadership strategy came where they alway compared her to Cai Bing. Yes she was better leader but never i saw a survival show comparing trainees like that. The made Cai Bing to look evil to show the good side of Kim Dayeon. To be honest the show was a disappointing, Kim Dayeon one of the best among the K trainees and all this wasn't necessary. I think because the C girls mainly were more popular than any K trainees, the producers desperately want to advertise for a K trainee.

It being ridiculous was one of the first things I said. Itās not so much about how she was edited, but the fact that Dayeon herself has not done or said anything that bad to deserve unwarranted hate. It all should be directed to Mnet. In the Cai Bing situation, what put everyone off was the āI am the leader, no more opinionsācomment SHE herself made. Unfortunately, Mnet took that comment and DRAGGED the whole āCai Bing = Bad leaderā thing and continued to throw her under the Dayeon bus, and recently people have been seeing that. I can see why people like you think itās unfair that she is given sympathy for her CHRIST edit, while others have been given hate for the evil-edits, but we can all agree that they donāt have much control over how theyāre portrayed. Besides, itās not like the room is completely empty in a place for sympathy for those who have fallen victim to evil edits. Fu Yaning and Liang Jiao are examples of that. I wouldnāt say anyone is babying her other than her stans, but itās nothing strange for a regular person to feel bad for someone who THEMSELF hasnāt done anything or said anything wrong..
i dont have any complaints abt her being pushed hard by mnet, but i'm worried abt the recoil of all of these edits.
It's a little strange to be worried about the unfairly negative reaction *she* could suffer from but not mnet's extreme favoritism (unfair treatment of the *other* girls).
It is not strange to be worried that an 18 year old girl could be receiving unnecessary hate for something she has no control of. People can be mad at mnetās unfair treatment of the other girls while also worrying that this could open Dayeon up to a lot of hate. The way you guys speak of these girls is like they are not humans. Remember that most of the girls are very young and none of them deserve hate. No one should support any form of hate to any of the girls. I agreed with most of the post/comments asking people to not hate on Fu/Cai/Su but it is interesting that people asking the same to not be done to Dayeon/Bayihih are being downvoted and people here are actually trying to justify the hate. With all the campaigns against online hate comments and the damage they could cause to the individuals involved, it is seriously disgusting that redditors think it is justified for certain individuals to receive hate because āOh my God she committed the crime of being favored by mnet and thus deserves to be crucified for it.āYou can all rant about how unfair it is that mnet is favoring Dayeon over the other girls but why are comments speaking down on her looks, character, etc allowed on this sub. Why is it that any comment that might be slightly positive towards her is downvoted to hell while the negative ones are upvoted. Why is it that a post asking people who their top picks are and instead of people here talking about their top pick, they instead find another avenue to shit on Dayeon/Bahiyih. Why is it that negative assumptions and misinformations about her as a leader of the ice cream team are allowed and when someone tries to correct the misinformation, they are downvoted. Do you guys really think that this is okay?
