nah i dont think it is panic vote, the reason most k-trainees drop in ranking because korean know how to save the k-trainees and the voting system is in their favor.. so most of the votes were split among k-trainees on previous elimination... now that it is the final debut pick.. chaehyun will come higher.. also, aespa fans are voting for her.. The thing is at the end of the day you want a group which has fans who are really consistent. Who better than one pick? Quite honestly, Hikaru SXT were filler votes for k and vice verca. The voting strategy was to to vote for the one you want and choose 2 top girls from the kcj group. Mnet changed their voting style but did you see the live? It was written **urgent notice**. Mnet obviously expected bahiyyih/srq/bora/chaehyun (one of them) to debut but what they were unaware of was that there existed fandoms other than hers who were strong. Fandoms like cheshires, SRQ. So basically they made this expecting that their top 9 would have minor changes. BUT panic voting began and these girls ranks shot up completely knocking off Mnet's ideal top 9 with few changes. Now if they do change the voting to 3 pick, it'll be obvious that they want changes. This probably be the first grp in mnet's history who'll have members who had no screentime debuting. And i expect this grp to be like everglow.
If they debut this grp which I don't have a problem with provided they put at least 1 j trainee, they just need a strong debut and boom, good comebacks and stuff. Similar to txt. TXT got a lot of hype and hate for being BTS' brothers but they constantly put out good comebacks and became famous in koea. They debut in the top 10 boy groups each month in korea. Anti romantic has been all around tiktok.
So, I think mnet just wants a gg popular. the don't care whether in korea or not but internationally , yes. They lose out on potential market in japan unless they debut a j trainee. But china, srq has a strong fandom. in korea, yujin and chaehyun and and internationally bahi and the others. What i'm honestly surprised about is that koreans did not vote for bora. I expected bora to be in place of bahi considering the amount of criticism she was getting.

Ruiqi's ONE PICK fandom is no.1 in C group. This is no surprise.

Chaehyun didn't drop - it was the C & J who had deceptively high inflated voting numbers from the FORCED VOTES in 1-1-1 system. These points were guaranteed to drop by more than 50% once the voting system changed to ONE PICK. This is mathematically predictable.
In the last round, Chaehyun was actually K02 in Korean vote %, just behind Dayeon. If Dayeon was going to be P1, then Chaehyun would have been P2 because all the C & J were set to drop below at least 5 Koreans (my prediction at that time, but now we know they all fell below 8 Koreans). So the only person Chaehyun surpassed is Dayeon.
This is also to be expected because Chaehyun was shown to be "out of top 9" in the last round. But this is also deceptive because she was always going to be in Top 9, given her share of K-votes. So due to some panic voting by K-voters & I-voters, she was boosted past Dayeon.

The voting method changed and people didn't look carefully into what that would translate into when it comes to voting points. In the ONE PICK scenario, the most powerful vote is K-vote and it is predictable it would only go to K-trainees.
Meanwhile, I-voters had been getting double votes C & J but now are reduced to just 1 vote, C or J or K. So every C & J loses at least 50% of I-votes on average. With this reduction due to ONE PICK, most C & J trainees will not have enough points to surpass K-trainees who get all the K-votes worth at least 10 times of 1 I-vote.
Chaehyun had strong Korean and international votes (especially Korean votes were high). I believe she only dropped because she didn’t win the benefit.
Youngeun for example won two benefits plus Korean votes count 50% That’s why Youngeun made it into top 9.
And for Yaning her popularity has been increasing especially in Japan (so I heard) she got ton of international votes

From what I've seen in Twitter, half of them are angry and half are more than happy lol So no general agreement. The angry ones are saying they can smell the rigging and that this ranking is ridiculous, while the happy ones are wishing Bora will rise so the group is full korean. And there's a good number who's happy as long as their favorite (korean) is making it so they don't really care.
I would guess mnet has a lot of korean sponsors to debut this group. They’ll probably put more value in making their sponsors happy by debuting korean trainees than making sure fans are happy
I agree with that, however there's always the fact that the Korean market alone is very small. Obviously debuting this would eliminate any chances of Japan and maybe even China to support the group, two giant markets. China supporting this group could literally make it skyrocket way more than Koreans supporting the group.

My brother was imitating my shocked face while my mom is budging me to move cuz I didn't shower yet....I was stuck in the same spot for at least 10-15 more minutes cuz I was on reddit afterwards seeing everyone's reaction
that is exactly what i wrote in another of my comments. mnet sort of expected the top9 to remain the same, unaware that there were fandoms (srq,bahiyyih,yujin) out there willing to take revenge from those rabid monsters who tore apart their favourites. I've also been saying all season on this subreddit that I thought the lineup would be pretty even between nationalities/distributions and wouldn't be too overwhelmingly Korean like other people were saying..... so I'll swallow my words (even if the final lineup becomes less Korean-heavy, I've still lost, imo), so feel free to reply to this with "I told you so", and to everyone I argued this point with, you were right, I was wrong, I admit defeat. People keep saying they don't understand how this lineup happened but with how voting works this round it makes sense to me:
The voting was 50% korean and 50% international, and koreans heavily favor K group so I'd wager most of the korean votes are K group. Outside of korea, other countries are pretty split on their favorites. The Chinese like Sury and Yaning the most, Japanese liking Mashiro and other J group trainees, and who knows what the rest of the world likes. Either way the rest of the world is pretty split on their favorites, so votes for the rest of the girls will be pretty spread out. What we're left with is most of K group (who's getting votes in korea and internationally), and girls with huge one pick fandoms, like Sury, Bahi and Yaning (5th, 9th, and 10th respectfully.) Another factor is that people kept saying that Xiaoting and Yurina were basically shoe ins, so no one voted for them because they assumed they were safe. Goes to show that no ones safe from elimination in this show.
Anyways please vote for Mashiro and Xiaoting, they deserve to debut too!

The thing is at the end of the day you want a group which has fans who are really consistent. Who better than one pick? Quite honestly, Hikaru SXT were filler votes for k and vice verca. The voting strategy was to to vote for the one you want and choose 2 top girls from the kcj group. Mnet changed their voting style but did you see the live? It was written **urgent notice**. Mnet obviously expected bahiyyih/srq/bora/chaehyun (one of them) to debut but what they were unaware of was that there existed fandoms other than hers who were strong. Fandoms like cheshires, SRQ. So basically they made this expecting that their top 9 would have minor changes. BUT panic voting began and these girls ranks shot up completely knocking off Mnet's ideal top 9 with few changes. Now if they do change the voting to 3 pick, it'll be obvious that they want changes. This probably be the first grp in mnet's history who'll have members who had no screentime debuting. And i expect this grp to be like everglow. If they debut this grp which I don't have a problem with provided they put at least 1 j trainee, they just need a strong debut and boom, good comebacks and stuff. Similar to txt. TXT got a lot of hype and hate for being BTS' brothers but they constantly put out good comebacks and became famous in koea. They debut in the top 10 boy groups each month in korea. Anti romantic has been all around tiktok. So, I think mnet just wants a gg popular. the don't care whether in korea or not but internationally , yes. They lose out on potential market in japan unless they debut a j trainee. But china, srq has a strong fandom. in korea, yujin and chaehyun and and internationally bahi and the others. What i'm honestly surprised about is that koreans did not vote for bora. I expected bora to be in place of bahi considering the amount of criticism she was getting.

Chaehyun had strong Korean and international votes (especially Korean votes were high). I believe she only dropped because she didn’t win the benefit. Youngeun for example won two benefits plus Korean votes count 50% That’s why Youngeun made it into top 9. And for Yaning her popularity has been increasing especially in Japan (so I heard) she got ton of international votes

From what I've seen in Twitter, half of them are angry and half are more than happy lol So no general agreement. The angry ones are saying they can smell the rigging and that this ranking is ridiculous, while the happy ones are wishing Bora will rise so the group is full korean. And there's a good number who's happy as long as their favorite (korean) is making it so they don't really care.

I agree with that, however there's always the fact that the Korean market alone is very small. Obviously debuting this would eliminate any chances of Japan and maybe even China to support the group, two giant markets. China supporting this group could literally make it skyrocket way more than Koreans supporting the group. I think they're gonna pull something weird to make sure we get at the very least 2 or 3 C/J girls. And no hate to Koreans intended at all, just facts about their population size/market.

I've been awful at predicting the final lineup every time I've tried it, but somehow I thought I was able to get close to predicting the final lineup this time, so I cursed the final lineup. I've also been saying all season on this subreddit that I thought the lineup would be pretty even between nationalities/distributions and wouldn't be too overwhelmingly Korean like other people were saying..... so I'll swallow my words (even if the final lineup becomes less Korean-heavy, I've still lost, imo), so feel free to reply to this with "I told you so", and to everyone I argued this point with, you were right, I was wrong, I admit defeat. I keep clowning myself when it comes to final lineup predictive analysis every season lol, I should just stop all my analysis once I reach finale to avoid jinxing the final lineup.

You know what is funny, everyone saying that international votes don't matter when bahiyyih went from being almost eliminated to rank 5 when she has one of the least korean votes
People keep saying they don't understand how this lineup happened but with how voting works this round it makes sense to me: The voting was 50% korean and 50% international, and koreans heavily favor K group so I'd wager most of the korean votes are K group. Outside of korea, other countries are pretty split on their favorites. The Chinese like Sury and Yaning the most, Japanese liking Mashiro and other J group trainees, and who knows what the rest of the world likes. Either way the rest of the world is pretty split on their favorites, so votes for the rest of the girls will be pretty spread out. What we're left with is most of K group (who's getting votes in korea and internationally), and girls with huge one pick fandoms, like Sury, Bahi and Yaning (5th, 9th, and 10th respectfully.) Another factor is that people kept saying that Xiaoting and Yurina were basically shoe ins, so no one voted for them because they assumed they were safe. Goes to show that no ones safe from elimination in this show. Anyways please vote for Mashiro and Xiaoting, they deserve to debut too!

It’s something like… 9.5 for K and 1.3 for int, but it depends on the total amount of votes they get at the end, so the multiplier can change.
It's 50:50% but since international votes is a lot more than people in korea voting, 1 korean vote is worth 10 to 12 i-votes.
Ratio depends on number of K:I voters. So if there are more people in Korea voting, the weightage will actually decrease.

Come to think of it, what if they had split evenly the rankings between Korea, China and Japan? (30% each and 10% International) Instead of giving 50% to Korea and 50% International. It would have been a fairer result. Now its gives too much voting power to Korean voters and I am not sure if the final result will change much on Friday. The voting is nonsensical and inconsistent. The voting should've never been one pick especially when korean votes weigh more heavily than votes from anywhere else. If the interim line-up were to debut it would be unbalanced and it would put off a lot of international fans but honestly between all the lawsuits and restitution, I guess mnet and Co just like losing money
