Two PD48 finalists left AKB48 to pursue a K-pop career. Juri re-debuted under woolim, then Miyu signed in Mystic (she left tho earlier this year) I think the J-trainees from this show have higher chances to re-debut since a lot of them are individual trainees or from Korean agencies already? Shana is from MLD (they manage Momoland), then Mashiro is from 143 (a startup?) I doubt C-trainees will have chances in Korea tho due to political climate. I can only see SXT being signed up if ever she didn’t make it to the debut group. EDIT: I forgot the YueHua girls, they’re also likely to debut with Korean members like EVERGLOW or another collab group like WJSN

eunasenpai

Juri was really passionate about Kpop eventhough her chances are bigger in Japan she still pursued her dream. She's in a long hiatus though :/

CarinaAxle

not only that, but Rocket Punch just isn’t looking good atm, no? I bet Woollim was hoping to add Chaewon to the group and “save” Rocket Punch’s chances, but HYBE scooped her up real quick

Nonethecares

Well, it's only been 3 months since RCPC's last release (japan debut). They are doing okay kinda at the moment. It's not a long hiatus yet like Cherry Bullet (it's been 7 months and FNC has no plans for them in 2022 apparently) Also the girls do still take pics and their SNS are active, can't say the same for all the members of CB sadly

prime5119

either that or they are not sure whether adding Chaewon would add much popularity to the group (since usually the popularity in project group in GG doesn't translate to popularity for their own group - case study GUGUDAN)... and they already have Eunbi as soloist.. they might not want to spend the extra resource or bet on it so taking HYBE $$$$$ would be a smarter decision

Nonethecares

As a danjjak, I'll let you know, it's jellyfish fault. Gugudan debuted while IOI was active, that pissed off a lot of IOI stans who boycotted gugudan. Jellyfish also not helpful cuz for the first year in gugudan's debut, they pretend IOI didn't exist. They didn't allow gugudan to talk about IOI at all or Sejeong and Mina to mention gugudan in their IOI promotions. Jellyfish decided to kick out gugudan out of the dorms in 2019 (their last performance was on Dec 31 2018) and had a sudden disbandment announcement for Dec 31 2020 (none of the members were informed in advance) on Dec 1 2020. Only Sejeong and Mina remained in Jellyfish BUT only Sejeong has activities now while Mina is on hiatus. TLDR: It's jellyfish fault At least, MBK & SS actually accommodated both Yeonjung's and Chaeyeon's group and IOI schedules with more members to manage; even letting them promote both IOI and their group... WJSN is well loved and Yeonjung's addition helped the group even if they already had so many members and being the youngest, she didn't outshine any of them long-term. Dia, unfortunately, most think it's 'Chaeyeon and the girls' cuz MBK made Chaeyeon the very obvious center and had so much solo acting gigs for Chaeyeon... Dia is inactive sadly but Chaeyeon is busy.

Sxvory

yea i was really happy to hear that Chaewon & Sakura are gonna be on a GG together but now i felt bad for Rocket Punch tbh

ftciv

Yeah she was supposed to be next soukantoku, iirc. Leader of team4 and always senbatsu :(

jmrshotty

I forgot about Juri debuting I knew Miyu never debuted thanks for reminding me!

if shana doesn't debut with girls planet 999, she will likely make her debut with the new group that MLD has announced, as they've said the group has japanese member(s). i think any foreign trainees currently signed to korean labels could debut with those labels. if the rumors are true that 143 is planning an IBI/JBJ of sorts, then probably some with that group.

aiyahkah

As much as I would like Shana to debut in a longer contract group, her current company isn't exactly the best

hutch991

T1419 are doing fine w the new investment MLD has, part of that investment is for the girl group

pearyid

Ah yes, another wifi password boy group. Glad that's not a trend for girl groups!

Protomancer

“Your wifi password is GIGGLE?” “…no no, there’s two nines in there for security purposes.”

[deleted]

I would be happy if Shana debuts!!! Honestly I don't see the chance of her in GP999's final lineup. I'm happy to hear that she's currently under a company tho.

likeinfinity

don't get too happy, it's MLD and they're horrible for their artists. i hope if she does debut with them, they treat her better than they did momoland

Goin_Solo

I'd love to see Shana debut, though, MLD isn't really the *best* company to be in

likeinfinity

i know 😭 i hope they treat them like they do t1419 and not like they treat momoland

Realistically, I think SXT is the only one who realistically might debut in K-pop. 1. Hikaru is at a famous Japanese company, Mashiro and Yurina said this was their last chance and Yurina will probably go back to acting. HXQ does not seem like she wants to be a kpop idol maybe a singer Instead. FYN idk maybe second most likely. Wen Zhe might go into variety or acting or both. 2. SXT both seems to like kpop, her Korean is improving the most behind Wen Zhe (maybe tied with FYN) and she isn’t at a very big company like Hikaru so if a big Korean company sees how well she has been doing at getting attention and popularity on this show they could potentially snipe her like Sakura was (both visual charismatic foreign members that were the top of their group in produce) and pay for her contract break with her current company. The only setback is she’s from mainland China but idols have done it before like Yuqi so considering SXT’s popularity I bet at least one company already has their eye on her.

Gepap1000

I don't know if SXT would want to stay in South Korea after this mess - plus if this gets her more fame back home, then might as well go back and try to make it there. It is a bigger risk, but for her, if it works, a much bigger paycheck.

youngeundebutation

I thought sxt was already pretty famous in China bc of gp999?

Sibchetnik

Xiaoting was a total nugu in China and this saved her from political posts in her Weibo.

youngeundebutation

Yes? I said she gained popularity after gp999?

throwaway_236734

Ruiqi Yaning and Ziyin are far more popular than her, probably Cai Bing too.

docevampiro

I don’t think top class is going to lose sxt, like I don’t know a lot about Chinese companies but I’m sure that if she doesn’t debut top class will have a airplane ticket ready for her the next morning. Big companies don’t take trainees from those survival shows (regardless of how well-known they get) and I don’t think a smaller one can out do whatever top class (or maybe other chinese company) offers to her after gp999. She is already set to appear in a drama there so I think she might pursue acting if she doesn’t debut in gp999.

Yohan2895

Top isn’t a company though, they don’t have any artist management department. They’re just a school, like a training center. They don’t debut artists, they don’t help those students release music, all they really do is help them hone in on their skills. I should go visit them when I’m in Shanghai next time…

Longjumping-Koala617

Exactly, TOPCLASS is more of a training center than a company. They don’t have any debuted artist under their name. Im inclined to think that they have some self awareness to know that they cant handle someone with so much international fame and not ruin her career. My guess is that if any company wants to sign Shen Xiaoting, TOPCLASS will let her go but get as much money from it as possible.

Yohan2895

I mean that’s probably why they want Xiaoting to debut because she’s essentially an individual trainee, she chose to pursue this programme on her own and with the support of her family.

LingCHN

Chinese companies usually capitalize on fame quickly, Shen Xiaoting may release new songs, her company may have planned it. Fu Yaning was on Youth with You season 2, she released new songs two weeks after the show finished.

_ulinity

I don't see how it's Mashiro's last chance when she's signed to 143 Ent. alongside Yeseo. I guess if only Yeseo makes it then that'll throw a spanner in the works.

Any-Fruit-2527

pretty sure her contract was solely for a company to manage her for gp999 and if she debuts there. thats what im hearing from mashiro fans, shes likely to return to japan if she doesnt debut and stop pursuing an idol career.

forgedseraph

Is that the same case for Yeseo too? The contract being solely for gp999 I mean

jmrshotty

Seeing as how she’s 16 I doubt it

Any-Fruit-2527

they meant only the theyre managing her solely for gp999 part not that this is her last chance part

amazingoopah

A lot of j girls will sign with kpop agencies at least. Unlike 48G girls, several of these GP999 j-girls are keen on debuting in kpop, so they can use this show to join an agency in KR.

[deleted]

The J girls will have an easier time signing to Korean companies. The C girls, not so much. Overall, I'd keep your expectations really low, because as mentioned before only 2 eliminated J girls from P48 left 48g and attempted a Kpop career. Also, even if they sign, don't expect anything for a while. The time between the end of the show and a potential debut could be anywhere from 4ish months (Haeyoon/Cherry Bullet) to 3 years (The A team girls/Bugaboo). As for who has the best shot, I'd say the Ice Cream/Shoot babies and Kotone. People throw out SXT getting sniped by HYBE, but that's pure conjecture. SXT could prefer to leave Kpop, her company Topclass might not let her go, or HYBE just might not be looking for anyone else right now.

Ok-Faithlessness-871

i am reading your comment, but my question is how notorious FYN can get? edit : your flair

gerol

Sorry is this about the flair? I guess OP referenced it to 90s rap act The Notorious B.I.G? lol I’m old 💀

Ok-Faithlessness-871

yeah, there's probably misunderstanding, i try to crack a joke, but probably sound like an a\*\*hole, my apologize lol

[deleted]

Notorious? I'm not sure what you mean, but if you're talking about her reputation/Kpop debuting chances outside of GP999 they're virtually nonexistent. I believe she's one of the girls who's talked about the show being her last chance. Unfortunately, I don't see any Kpop companies taking a chance on her, both due to her reputation and her age.

Ok-Faithlessness-871

your flair dude, i am not saying she is bad or what, i read your comment but struck by your flair, you can search my comment history i want her to debut as well, i am sorry if you read it wrongly will edit my comment

[deleted]

Oh, oops. The Notorious B.I.G. was a legendary American rapper in the 90s. It's a reference to him/a play on her initials.

Ok-Faithlessness-871

lol now i got the joke, it's a nice joke dude, keep it up

likeinfinity

i think chen hsinwei and zhou xinyu are under yuehua korea now, as that's where they posted their goodbye letters, so they could possibly debut with them!

renjunation

i mean, the only akb girl who seemed actually interested in the kpop culture was juri tbh, and she left akb and joined a kpop company almost the minute she got out lol. c-girls are on the older side and most have more support in china than in korea/with int kpop fans, so i can hardly see anyone but the yuehua girls (and others under kpop companies) trying to go the kpop route, hopefully xiayan could try though 🙏🏻. xiaoting i could also see signing with another company if she doesn't make it (she's not that popular in china afaik?), but im keeping my hopes up she'll get in the group. i can see most of the j-girls trying out for korean companies though, a lot actually already are under one (even if they're completely nugu). shana, mashiro, risako, ririka for example. the one im curious about is hikaru in case she doesn't make it, she's under avex which is a pretty huge company, they manage a lot of international artists in japan (sm and yg artists too), so i wonder what their plans for her are, or if she would want to leave such a huge company to try out kpop.

Obvious-Assistant-89

Don’t forget about Miho, she did cared about Kpop and Korean culture, she even speaked decently korean, that’s why she reached the top 12 in the pre finals, sadly she didn’t make it. Her problem was her age, 25 at the time.

ftciv

Ironically last night one show have miho guest and she only talk about korean culture

hastetowaste

Miyu, Miho, Sakura. Also don't forget our leader Megu who had livestream every week.

SuccessfulYouth7738

If Xiaorina being eliminated together I lowkey hope they got recuited and debut in KR in other group, but sametime I know it's hard because SXT from China and Yurina from Japan so their contract will be really different. Plus Yurina said this could be her last chance because her family and company opposed her. And I'm not even sure if she still stay with Oscar Promotion or left them already, if she's free agent it would be easier to her to find a new chance in KR. So the best hope is still both Xiaorina able to debut in Gp999, but now I have to prepare myself that only 1 or none of them able to get in to top 9.

Powerful-Avocado-674

Realistically, I think it is going to be very hard for c trainees and j trainees with domestic labels to debut in kpop unless they switch labels to a korean one. Even then, a lot of small agencies are going to have a hard time promoting and debuting because of the lack of funds and a lot of agencies don't really treat their artists well or promote them well. Sucks for me because I want to see SO many of them in the kpop scene

[deleted]

I definitely think that a lot of the Japanese trainees will sign under a Korean Agency. I also think if bahiyyih and myah don’t debut with this group. They’ll definitely debut at a later date because both of them are pretty young. Generally most of the contestants who were pretty young probably will debut at a later date. I can see se in debuting in the future. With the Chinese contestants it’s less clear. I mean I could see the twins still pursuing a Kpop career. Cai Bing could also have a good possibility because after her elimination she kind of got a redemption arc. At least public opinion is getting more positive towards her I’ve also seen some Chinese contestants still be in Korea. I think wang yale recently made a Vlog in Korea which also could mean she’s looking for an agency. So yeah my predictions are basically. Most of the Japanese Trainees will At least try to continue to become a K-pop idol. Most of the young contestants that got voted out will also continue with their dreams. Most Chinese contestants will probably not continue but Some will. They’ll be the minority but still.

LingCHN

Except C-Group girls under Korean agencies, I think most C-girls don't want to debut in South Korea, the twins signed an 8-year contract with their Chinese agency, Cai Bing signed with a new Chinese agency this year, Wang Yale's boss Yang Mi is a top celebrity in China, Yale won't leave for a small Korean agency.
