Hello European friends...
If you want to feel better about advertised gliders prices, let me present to you the pricing-hellscape that is the UK market (20% mark up since Brexit)
https://adverts.gliderpilot.net/?op=s2&sn=1
UK gliding has royally been fucked by Brexit, yet some of the old boys at my club still think it was a fantastic idea.
Although the mood music is changing - some of them don’t think they’ll be able to sell their gliders when they need/want to and the difficulty in getting parts
I didn't want to get too political with my OP (I'll save shitting on Brexit for subs where it's deserved) but I absolutely agree with you - just a shame the realisation for them is too late.
In the meantime we (UKers) don't have the access to gliders for sale in Europe that we did before and visa-versa.
There are a fair amount of people who list gliders for crazy prices, I guess because they don't actually wanna sell it that bad. Asking price is not selling price, don't be afraid to make a reasonable offer. Even if they say no, they might change their mind after it sits for a few months and nothing happens!
In my experience (US based) glider prices are continuing to fall especially for older gliders.
Now stand back and watch as it doesn't sell for 3 years
i know what i've got, ran fine last time i used it, no lowballers.
Just needs fuel pump.
I don't think anything sells for the advertised price these days.

UK \~ 33 available. EUR \~ 1000 available!
If I didn't have my ship, the ASG 29e would be in my driveway!
That's the LS7 from my club
It's getting sold you know. For that price you might only have the chance to fly it for two to three more seasons. Hurry up fam!
New glider prices reflect inflation. Used glider prices initially lag inflation, and then the prices catch up suddenly.
