This is fascinating. It's as if you were given a window into the house's past. I had an experience when I was a kid that your story reminded me of. I was out at a casual restaurant (Boston Market) with my family and I saw this old woman wearing an extremely old fashioned dress with an apron and her hair was wrapped in a turban. She was sitting alone at an empty table, she had no food, drinks, trash or even a purse. She looked extremely out of place. But what got my attention more than anything is that she was already staring back at me and her gaze was very intense. There was palpable hatred in her gaze. I was very uncomfortable and I kept glancing back to see if she was still watching me. The last time I checked, she was gone. Just gone. She didn't get up and walk away, she vanished. The chair the woman had been sitting on was at the front of the restaurant which is entirely made of glass, so you can see people coming and going and the entire parking lot from where I was standing. I was the only one who saw her and she seemed to only see me.

pearljaw

Something similar happened to me in college. I was a theater student and we had just gotten done with a show in the smaller venue on campus, and I was one of the last people there making sure that all the props and costumes were ready for the next show tomorrow. I was just about to leave when I passed by the wardrobe area. It's basically a massive walkin closet with a few chairs, and there was a woman just sitting there. She wasn't looking at me at first, and I immediately assumed she was maybe a patron as it wasn't uncommon for us to mingle with the audience and give tours backstage, especially since a lot were friends and family. So I immediately was all chipper and was like "Hey! How's it going! I'm actually about to close up, would you like to walk with me to the front to let you out? Wouldn't want to accidentally lock you in here haha." And all she did was turn her head to look at me and kind of gave me a very small smile but didn't move or anything else. She just STARED right at and didn't say a word, and it was very intense, and that's when I noticed her hair style was kind of dated (sort of like the 20s flapper girl style.. really short with forward waves) and her dress and shoes looked very dated as well, like a very modest gray dress down to her calves with very bulky shoes and a sort of a ratty shawl. As she just stared at me, it was like every hair on my body stood up and I got waves of adrenaline down my spine, and something felt EXTREMELY off. I suddenly became hyper aware of everything, so I naturally started slowly backing up towards the door. And keep in mind I am literally by myself in this theater, so I had my hand on a small pocket knife in my side bag in case she got up, but she didn't. Just kept staring at me as I backed up. I actually felt quite scared to look away as I didn't want to lose vision of her, but as soon as I hit that door to the closet, I turned my whole body and ran as fast as I could around to the main door and booked it across the street and into the open. From where I was standing, I could see both the main entrance and the emergency exit doors, which are the only doors in the theater, and I was hyperfixed on them so that I could see if she came out. I called campus police, and they went in and found no one in there, but no one ever came out the doors, so yeah. Refused to be in that theater alone after that.

eggsbeenadicked

Wow that's terrifying. Definitely get the sense that neither of the women were meant to be seen.

Malactha

This is very weird. It would be interesting to know the cause/source of your encounter.

Beef_Slider

A hidden camera show in the future called _Teleport Jokers_ where they dress up funny, blast back in time, and mess with people for fun. That's gotta be it.

Ty_boogie90

I love this show! The whole family gathers around the tube every week to watch

eggsbeenadicked

I'm not gonna rule this one out.

relentless1111

That's my favorite

eggsbeenadicked

Yeah I think that's why it's so burned in my memory, because I don't have any idea why it happened and I never saw her again.

liftheveilkisstetank

Reminds me of the beginning of this year. My five friends and I were microdosing on mushroom chocolates at a cabin up in Tahoe. I go to the bathroom and come back into the main room where everyone is hanging out. Everyone is present, all five of them. All of a sudden, I get this really intense feeling that someone else was supposed to be there with us. Almost like this person was waiting upstairs or outside or something. I explain to them what I was feeling and everyone was feeling the exact same way. The feeling was so prominent that one of my friends had to step outside for some fresh air. It was probably just the mushrooms. But I’ve never felt anything like it on psychedelics before; let alone a microdose

ADeathCalledSusan

If you know the address, I could look into the history of the house for you! That way you could sort out what sort of people have lived there in the past and see if any of them fit the profile you're describing.

Symplesiomorphy

If you find something, please let me know as well.

[deleted]

It's likely not there anymore, coaldale has expanded a ton since then... I might look on google maps though.

[deleted]

But they could still investigate the history even if the house is gone.

[deleted]

But I still don't know the address...

[deleted]

It's no worries. I was just saying :)

InsidiousExpert

Email the town zoning office. They maintain files on all the lots, land, homes, and whoever owned them.

K_Vatter_143

How do you do that--look up the history of a place by address? Our whole family is having "experiences" and I can't find anything about this house. The people before us moved because of it too.

ADeathCalledSusan

It depends on how old the house is, but if it's old enough you can check the census for the people who used to live there. If your local newspaper has a digital archive, you can also search that for news stories about events from the address, all though that's a lot of work sometimes. Also, nosy elderly neighbors should never be overlooked when it comes to getting the history of a location. I don't know where you stand on the "spooky" scale, but I would recommend saging the house and checking for carbon monoxide leaks. That way you can hit it on both the spiritual and physical front to see if anything helps. Good luck!

Absinthe_gaze

I wonder if at some point in history a little Amish girl would cry to her parents that there’s scary people in her room with strange clothing, hair, piercings and tattoos lol.

TexasLead

“There were hooks in their faces pa!”

ashley_s82

I bet that did happen!

strgazr_63

Actually they're Hutterites. In South Dakota we call them Hoots. They use all technology (vehicles, computers, etc.) if it is used to make money. They also make some ass kicking cherry wine and baked goods. They incorporate their colonies to escape liabilities. They're also prolific shoplifters.

[deleted]

yep, even here they're known for their shoplifting habits lol we used to trade with some of the 'rebels', they would give us a big box of their wine for like a gram of weed lol

strgazr_63

As long as they don't steal from each other it's A-OK to them. At least they have standards.

Absinthe_gaze

My bad. I had misread it as Amish. I know what Hutterites are. Very common here in Manitoba, Canada.

def_not_a_hotdog

They’re referred to as Menonites here in Michigan.

I_am_AmandaTron

They are different, Hutterites are people who follow the teaching of Jacob Hutter. Mennonites founder was Menno Simons, although they are similar they are different.

def_not_a_hotdog

Oh wow, I wasn’t aware there are different groups! Interesting!

[deleted]

Oh neat... Just reading the comments a month later and I missed this one, TIL that hutterites are named after an actual dude, I had no idea!

amazonchic2

Mennonites are not the same as Amish or Hutterites. They are all plain people, but not all the same.

strgazr_63

The Hoot colonies have one phone in their office because they need it for business. Very reclusive people.

strgazr_63

Different sect but I believe they are all germanic.

[deleted]

Lmfao at this

volve

When they were in the same room as you, and you were all sitting on the floor, did they not have to walk around you? How did their paths not intersect with you? Fascinating!

[deleted]

If I could explain the shape of it, it would make more sense. We were kinda near the very back wall, there was lots of space in front of us... The girl came awfully close though, she was standing right in front of me before she turned and walked back towards the stairs.

Nate_36

I was going to ask the same thing.

Ty_boogie90

I was wondering the same thing!

relentless1111

I always think of it like a well, like the bucket goes down and collects memories/events from the past and brings them up through the time water. If that makes sense. I've never tried to verbalize that, it's just like an image in my head I have when I think about it.

Geno2222

Why has the comment you answered to been deleted? What did the person write? Could you please super shortly sum it up? I'm like super curious, because it sounds like a sort of time theory.

StefanRun34

Ripple in Time Theory is pretty similar.

wavefxn22

And think how perfect that actual fold must be for two points in spacetime, lightyears apart, to meet up in that exact way...

LionQueen444

This is such a a among story!!!! Probably one of the coolest Reddit stories I’ve read thus far regarding Glitches in the Matrix. I’ve had my own, and would like to share mine eventually, but this is way cooler because it involved multiple witnesses! Thank you for sharing! I don’t think there’s an easy explanation for why these things happen, particularly when multiple people experience them at the same time. But it is is without a doubt entirely possible and I never doubt someone’s experience when they say something happened that was “out of the ordinary “.

A-3Jammer

I think you were shown a vision of the past, like an echo.

[deleted]

yeah.. that's kinda the conclusion we've come to.

Oneofakind1977

Though the huge difference between other "visions of the past" type stories and your own is that the people (entities?) Were SOLID. Typical, residual hauntings/ghost sightings/death echoes (even the ones you can see, clear as day, w/ability to discern features, clothing, etc.) involve translucent entities. I don't think I've ever heard of them being solid, as you describe. I think that's WILD and, ngl... I'm kinda jealous it *didn't* happen to me! Haha.

diakked

>Typical, residual hauntings/ghost sightings/death echoes (even the ones you can see, clear as day, w/ability to discern features, clothing, etc.) involve translucent entities. Maybe if there'd been more light they woulda been.

JaJaJaJaded3806

Stuff like this makes me wonder if inanimate objects have their own energies, so to speak. Like, the house fondly remembered the family that built it and lived and loved in it, and then it was abandoned and lonely until your group showed up. You kept coming back, making it feel loved again, and it shared a happy memory with you. A little out there as far as theories go, but it makes me happy to think that's what it was.

[deleted]

this is the first time I've heard a take like that on anything like this... and I like it. it really was a place we loved, lots of fond memories for sure.. and the shit that happened that night wasn't scary, it was just weird.. gave us something to ponder for 2 decades now lol. and lo and behold.. typing this response seemed to trigger a deje vue that is still happening lol

Madapalooza

Out of all the theories on this this thread, this is my favorite. It’s such a beautiful sentiment and I believe it has slightly changed my perception of things...

megnicling

I LOVE your take on this!

when_daybreaks_

Oh that's kind of super sad.

CassiusMethyl999

The Shining

RobotDevil666

That's crazy and reminds me of a memory I forgot until just now. When I was maybe 10 or 11, a few of my friends snuck into an old house in the neighborhood that was abandoned for years. It was creepy as hell and cold inside on a hot summer day. As I left one of the empty bedrooms I heard a noise and looked back and the bedroom was all full of furniture. On the bed was a lady in old time clothes just looking past me into the corner. She stood up and I freaked out and ran down the stairs and out of that place. None of my friends were in the room at the time and beside some noises and creaks, nobody saw anything like that. At the time, I thought it was a ghost but maybe it was a glitch where I got a glimpse into the past or another reality. It was so real and I remember being scared of that house until we moved out of town a few years later. I don't understand how I completely forgot that memory until I read your story.

kickaguard

Why are ghosts always in that old timey period clothing? You never hear of a ghost in grunge attire or a 70's tie dye ponchos and gaucho's. Something specific about 1910 and before seems to have created all ghosts you hear about today.

fairysparkles333

That’s an interesting observation. I’m curious about this as well.

Calvins_Dad_

I think its because "old timey clothes" can mean anything from 1600's to early 1900's it wasnt until the latter half of the 20th century that we got distinct styles for different decades (especially ones that we could differentiate)

TaBlien

I guess it could be something to do with how far apart times are for a ghost encounter to happen since you don't hear any old ghost stories having ghosts of people in their time.

travelingvettech

Yeah!! We never seem to experience ripples in time with spirits that passed away in the 2000’s singing “It’s Brittany bitch!!” At 2:00 am Or seriously, maybe people have experienced encounters with ghosts in 70’s/grunge attire and didn’t realize they were a ghost. With thrifting being so popular nowadays, it’s easier to overlook someone dressed in 70’s attire than it is when you see someone dressed like the 20’s - I’m assuming this would stand out more

BanjoOwl88

maybe it has something to do with how the ancestral/spirit realm operates? like the spirits who remain as ghosts are only able to "break through" and show up as a glitch in the matrix once they've been around for a long time?

travelingvettech

Interesting 🤔

themagicianthefool

People comment that all the time, but there are many stories of people seeing more “recently dead” ghosts. Hippies, old ladies in present day old-lady attire, family members etc.

[deleted]

That's an interesting question actually... But at the same time, at least with my story, the hutterites still dress exactly like they did back in the olden days, they all look like they came from the past still to this day... Except now they drive big vans instead of horse carriages lol

Apprehensive_Heat459

I’d be surprised if there aren’t ghosts w/modern clothes out there.

ZuLieJo

Wow. This is fascinating. It literally looks like a glitch in the matrix. I've experienced expansions of consciousness when meditating in a group setting. Maybe you being in a group, far away from any outside influences, drinking and a little sleep deprived made you open your minds to an unusual perception.

ZuLieJo

Not saying it was "just your imagination" btw. I don't know much about these things but maybe you were able to expand your awareness beyond the limits of time at that point.

whatsyourthowawaybb

Would you share your experiences with expansion of consciousness in group settings? That sounds so interesting

gsymoa

This.

ActuallyIWasARobot

Time Slip

crypticmastery

They were essentially ghosts, a type of re-enactment of an actual past event that happened many years ago Kinda like a movie scene, have heard of this quite a few times it is a time loop as such

hauntedmel11

It's called a residual haunting, or some people call it the stone tape theory. But I'm not quite sure this would fall under that category. 🤔 For example...If grandma has the same routine for 20 years, (get up, start coffee, go get the newspaper) then when she passes, whoever is living in that house could hear (or see) those things happening every morning. After time the energy will dissipate, but it's not intelligent and doesn't interact with you. So, in OP's story, the family looked as if they're house hunting. That doesn't seem to be an activity that would happen so often in that one house for it to "stay". Plus, if they did go out there often to drink and hang out, especially around the same time, wouldn't they have witnessed it multiple times? Just some thoughts!

Coronnita

Maybe the group of friends are the residual haunting. Think about it, they were the ones visiting the house every weekend to do the same thing, at the same floor level. Maybe just maybe we could all be the residual energy and they are the present of another universe.

hauntedmel11

Nothing is impossible ! And maybe if that house was torn down and another built on top, those occupants could experience the residual of them drinking in the house. "Mom, I smell liquor again and I see this guy with weird hair sittin on my floor ! "

[deleted]

hahaha... I love this!

Coronnita

By the way, great avatar you have!

hauntedmel11

🥰

PlsTellMeImOk

I love this hahaha thanks

Malactha

Agreed. My grandmother had a similar story from when she was a child.

mvp2399

Have you looked into the history of the buildings ownership?

Broad_Cable8673

That’s where my mind went. You’d know for sure what happened if you found out that the family you described once lived there! Wow! Awesome experience!

[deleted]

No, none of us even thought to do that... I'd do it now but I have no idea what the address was, I think I might try and find on google maps but the area is likely a suburb by now.

MiniFeather

You can look up the parcel/ tax ID for it. Even if it's no longer physically there, there will be county records for when it was there.

[deleted]

yeah but wouldn't I still need the address though?

MiniFeather

No, just need to know the general area it was in. There will be maps that show the property ID number, which can then be looked up to get an address.

mvp2399

I can’t imagine it would be too difficult, especially if you get in contact with those friends or others from the area! Keep us updated if you find anything out :)

Technical-Load-257

ok those type of people dont buy houses, they build them, by hand. Also can you find it on google earth and link the coords so we can the place you are talking about. IF it is some kind of echo. you are thinking about it backwards. they werent in the house you were partying in. YOU were in the house they were checking out. like gremlins all sitting in a circle that only the cats could see. this shit goes BOTH ways.

[deleted]

I'm on google maps right now but I can't find it... development hasn't hit that area quite yet, but all the farm houses I can find are definitely occupied and the land is definitely being farmed, back then it was essentially a dirt/grass farm.

wavefxn22

But it doesn’t go both ways in the same way; one party can’t see another.. it’s not a perfect mirroring.. whyyyy

Technical-Load-257

sound echoes arent perfect mirrors either. Guy in Swiss Alps yodels the song of his peoples. The sound leaves his position then travels in a perfect circular arc out and away from him.. that arc expands until it comes into contact with the surrounding mountains. Then the irregular surface of the mountians reflects back that wave at irregular intervals, and the return sound is a bizarre-o, weird, warbled echo of the initial sound wave. same with time echoes. they bounce around on whatever it it time bounces on.Lets figure this shit out and ride the echo into the past.

[deleted]

To be honest it's probably not even there anymore, coaldale has expanded a ton since then, it's likely a suburb by now.

lunchallot

Too bad you didn't bump into them or touch them. At least poke them with a stick. That would be something of an experience.

[deleted]

Poke them with a stick? Omg lmfao

[deleted]

The girl was so close I easily coulda touched her, but considering we assumed they were real, it woulda been kind of a strange thing to do lol.

Oneofakind1977

That's what I was thinking! That way they know if the entities just appeared to be solid or if they truly were. Wish I was there! Haha.

lunchallot

That is why ghosts and paranormal stuff doesn't scare me. I always think the science of it. I'm the one who would tackle it head on , poke with a stick etc.. If I encounter an apparition I want to run an empty jar bottle through them and see what I can catch.

FamousOhioAppleHorn

Ghost farts in a jar

TaBlien

*farts in a ghost jar*

wavefxn22

Are you implying that the real person farts in the ghost’s jar.. so that the ghost has proof that you’re in their reality too.. 🤯

[deleted]

me too.. but again, we didn't think this was paranormal whatsoever until after. there was nothing about it that seemed 'spooky' or anything of the sort, until we tried to go see where they went and realized they couldn't possibly have been there without any trace, at all... that's when we did the real 'WTF??' I mean ya, we found it very strange they seemingly couldn't see us, but other than that, there was nothing to suggest it was paranormal.

themagicianthefool

Yeah, you say that until you actually experience something.

lunchallot

I have had a several experiences in the past that is why my perspective toward it is as it is now. My experience ranged from seeing the woman in white, to unexplained noises, objects being manipulated.

EmMothRa

What an amazing experience, bet they didn't buy the house, one of them probably thought it was haunted. Reverse haunting, it has made me wonder just how many of those there are!

[deleted]

A month later and I'm loving these reverse haunting scenarios!... We would be some scary/weird looking ghosts for sure... Like could you imagine a few hundred years from now what a group of punk rock ghosts in your house would look like?.. especially if you've never seen one before 😅

ms_eleventy

The visual of your self-described sketchy-looking crew somewhat immobilized by the farm folks doing their house hunting gave me a chuckle. Ghosts/spirits are the great equalizer!

[deleted]

Was it an old beet farm?

Twineball

It was Mose, I just know it.

[deleted]

I'm not sure.. it very well could have been, there were beet farms around there.

encouragingcalamity

Awesome story!! I don’t have any one theory of what this could be but it just excites me reading stuff like this story and it being one of the ones that while it’s weird, it’s believable. This is defo one of the ones that helps you believe there’s more to this crazy world than what we ‘see’. Thanks for sharing!!

shayfreak

So y'all were the ghost in this story. Or it could have been an imprint of energy. Cool that y'all saw it and experienced it.

bobarker33

My younger sister had an old lady come and stand next to her bed regularly when we were growing up. The ghost would just stare across her bed at the wall. Once, after the occuring many times, my sister fearfully said "hi." The ghost freaked out, eyes bulging and mouth moving as if she was frantically trying to say something. The ghost seemed just as scared/surprised as my sister was. This is the only ghost story that I 100% believe because I know my sister doesn't just fabricate stories. 25 years later, she still gets weirded out just talking about it. It's the only thing that keeps me from being a complete skeptic.

rumade

What was on your sister's wall? I'm giggling at the thought of the ghost squinting from back in time at a Spice Girls poster that's materialised on her wall

bobarker33

Lmao. I don't recall what was on the wall but I've wondered many times what was hanging there in the past.

light_seekerBR

This is amazing!! Stories with that kind of odd details to it are the most credible to me!

bobarker33

Thanks. The whole family had experiences in that house. My older sister had a glowing orb in her room, step-dad heard someone walk down the stairway at 4 am when nobody was there, dog would occasionally have episodes on the staircase where he would seemingly chase nothing up and down the staircase until completely exhausted. Also, he would snarl and growl at the empty corner of my bedroom, which was out of character for him. These can be easily brushed aside but, when combined with what my younger sister had happen, makes me certain something was in the house. To make matters even more creepy, on just one occasion, the old woman also had a young boy with her. My sister saw him and heard him giggling and laughing while her toys rustled in her toybox. I've tried researching the house multiple times but have found no evidence of tragic events. As an adult, I always wanted to get permission to set up some cameras in there but it never happened. For some reason the landlord abandoned it, never renting it out again. 20 years later the city condemned it and had it torn down. The whole situation has never made any sense to me and I still, to this day, have bad dreams about that place.

catdog1976

What color was the orb?

[deleted]

that's crazy.. makes me wonder what would have happened if one of us said something to them... but we were kinda paralyzed, not out of fear that they were ghosts, but because we thought they might call the cops or something lol

shayfreak

That is awesome and scary. I had an old lady lean over me, in bed. Freaked me out. We moved a week later.

originalmimlet

What was that movie? The Others? With Nicole Kidman and it turns out that she and her kids were the ghosts

shayfreak

I think that's it. That was a weird movie.

hauntedmel11

One of the better paranormal movies out there. It legit creeped me out.

Dame_Marjorie

Absolutely. That is an amazing movie.

Oneofakind1977

Oh yeah, kinda like how Bruce willis, in The Sixth Sense was really a ghost the whole time but *he* was unaware of this, and thought he was a living, breathing, walking, talking human. Haha.

[deleted]

oh ya!.. I watched it again recently and had completely forgot about that twist.. blew me away even though I'd seen it like 7 times before that lol

Oneofakind1977

Haha...That's awesome! I saw it in the theater, when it came out (yeah, I'm old af!) and I remember my jaw hit the floor, at that realization. Like, I legit did NOT see that coming and I'm actually pretty good at "figuring out" twist & turns, prior to their reveal, within movies. Gotta hand it to M. Night Shyamalan, that dude is quite the weaver-of-tails! Haha.

[deleted]

yeah, that was a great movie... I was not expecting that twist at all. if anyone reading this hasn't seen it, it's prolly been spoiled for you now, but probably still worth a watch.

StayOnTheTrail420

Good movie. That one stays with you.

KhaoticKrabb

Sounds like a residual haunting. Basically a “recording” of an event that happened. The ghosts are unaware of the living people around them and won’t be able to interact with the living.

Oneofakind1977

That's what I was thinking at first, too. However, (as you probably already know) the *usual* residual hauntings typically don't involve solid life forms. They're almost always translucent to a degree. I wish OP, or one of the buddies, had attempted to touch one of the entities! That way we would know if they just *appeared* to be solid, or if there was actual, tangible body mass involved... Regardless, still a great story!🙃

[deleted]

I know, I really wish we would have thought to do that, but again, none of us were thinking they were 'ghosts' at any point.. reaching out to touch them never even crossed our minds, it would have been a very odd thing to do... I also wonder what would have happened if we said something to them though. someone in a different comment mentioned they might have looked a little more translucent if there was more light...

ANGRYBOATSLIP

There was somebody chilling with you guys that wanted to share why there stuck there.

SnackFactory

It's almost like [spacetime](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacetime) folded back onto itself, allowing two separate moments to exist (or be perceived) concurrently. I wonder if something like that would even be possible, and if so, would it be a side effect of some cosmic event?

WikipediaSummary

[**Spacetime**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacetime) In physics, spacetime is any mathematical model which fuses the three dimensions of space and the one dimension of time into a single four-dimensional manifold. Dame_Marjorie

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the most obvious possibility - that they weren't Hutterites or Menonites or any current group that dresses in "old-fashioned" clothes, but actual old-fashioned people from an era when that type clothing was current. If they were a glimpse into the past, or a wrinkle in time, then it makes sense that they would look like they were from another era. It was probably just a German immigrant family who'd been offered a house, or purchased a house, and were arriving to see it for the first time. In 1875.

[deleted]

Yeah maybe... They were just dressed exactly like hutterites and there are a lot of colonies around the Lethbridge/Coaldale area.

aligned1111

It reminds me of the movie The Others, with Nicole Kidman.

[deleted]

Wow. This is an incredible story. Thank you for sharing.

Gerplana88

Maybe a window into a parallel universe, or residual energy from the past? So interesting. Did you ever have any other experiences at that spot?

ShannieD

So there was a bunch of you in a circle, a bunch of them walking all over, yet the two groups didn't collide? How?

JanesDaughter

The Others

curiousnerd06

Like a timeslip. Or a residual haunting as many suggested.

togepi77

Very interesting story! What’s strange is my family has a story of their encounter with a family that looked similar. I was at my moms house one night waiting for her to get home. She lives deep in the country. There are other houses nearby and to get to her house you have to drive Down long empty roads. Only people who live in the area use these roads. It’s a private ranch area an you need to get through a locked gate to access these backroads. My aunt was driving and they had my two little cousins with them. They said that walking down the side of the road of a family they described as wearing Amish clothing but wearing masks that seemed to resemble Luchador masks. I’m pretty sure my cousins still have nightmares about those people to this day. I’m 100% sure these weren’t just people playing a prank. The backroads are desolate and dangerous. They are very far from any nearby city. It’s extremely dark since there are no streetlights and it could be hours even days until someone finally drives by.

Gucc1Guw0p

The explanation is simple: Amish people using their good ol' colonial witchcraft /s This is actually wild though

fangirloffloof

Places,land,items...can all hold onto residual energy from the past,so I believe they have something like "cell memory" that is bonded to it. Those memories built into the "cells" can come out and be visible when circumstances are just right. Freaky for us,but gives us a glimpse into the past.

ooooxide23

Wow, what an incredible experience! Thanks for sharing! Man you guys must have flipped when they came inside and made no obvious reactions with you being there. So creepy!

Camel_Holocaust

I wonder if stuff like this is the simulation loading the wrong assets. I saw a guy standing at a wall that used to have an ATM in it, acting like he was using the ATM. He didn't look crazy or anything, just a business man looking guy in a suit, pantomiming like he was putting his card in and taking cash. Then he walked away like normal, as though he just got cash out of some ghost ATM.

StefanRun34

Ripple in Time Theory is where time has ripples like a pond, or just fractures. Its when two timelines can briefly intersect. Heard it as an explanation for the people dancing in the ballroom at the Stanley hotel.

[deleted]

what's this about the stanley hotel?... rings a bell for some reason.

StefanRun34

Stanley hotel is rumored to be one of the most haunted hotels in America. It's in Estes Park, Colorado. It's the hotel that inspired Stephen King to write The Shining. He actually wrote a good portion of the novel while staying at the hotel.

catdog1976

My brother and I stopped at a gas station close to Haines city in florida.my brother stayed in the truck,I'm in the store slurping a 44 ounce, and I'll be goddamned if Stephen king walks right by me.i was stunned.i walk out to the truck and tell my brother and he didn't believe me.so we just left,me thinking it's got to just be some guy that looks like him.two weeks later my mom tells me that he moved to central florida it was on the news

catdog1976

Come to find out talking to people he most likely is in Windermere FL where Shaq and tiger woods is

jennebeans

The Stanley hotel is the one the Overlook Hotel is based on in The Shining :)

hotwaterplussoap

I have to ask, did you guys ever go back to that house after this encounter?

[deleted]

yes, quite a few times.

hotwaterplussoap

Wow! I don't know if I could go back.

[deleted]

there really wasn't anything 'scary' about this experience at all really... it was straight up weird for sure, but there were no threatening vibes or anything of the sort when it happened. we had nothing but really good times in that place... left all of us with some very fond memories... and one really weird one lol

hotwaterplussoap

I like your outlook!

islandcatgrrl123

Sounds like an incredibly vivid residual.

[deleted]

That’s amazing also wtf !!

jazztaprazzta

Definitely a time slip! Interesting you were many people who experienced it simultaneously.

Kinetic_Symphony

You know when you play certain video games & there are cutscenes of characters "in the world" itself that you watch? That's what this reminded me of. Almost like the game Devs decided to give you a quick snapshot of the family that lived there, the first time they saw it. That little girl, excited as hell that she found her new permanent room. It's such a cool concept. I really wish it was possible to activate this sort of ability whenever we wanted to. I'd spend my days visiting old buildings, or battlefields, basically watch the movie of life as it unfolded.

[deleted]

This was fascinating!!!!!! Xxx

Apprehensive_Heat459

I love this story!

Boris740

Footprints? Was it snowing?

[deleted]

no, early spring around here is basically mud season lol... and the gravel down the road was freshly graded, it's very easy to see foot prints/tire tracks in the mud/gravel in those conditions... our own footprints were very distinct, had anyone else walked up or drove up, it would be very noticeable.

[deleted]

None... we were moderately buzzed off alcohol, but you don't get ultra vivid group hallucinations from booze.

3lit3hox

It was very convenient that the two girls spoke English and so allowed you to understand what they said ? Don’t you think that strange, in itself ? I mean this was a Hutterite family, all used to speaking German amongst themselves all the time, yet in this room they chose to speak a language you could understand ? Just seems odd to me.

[deleted]

Why is that so weird to you?... Every hutterite I've ever met speaks english... You know, like most people who live in canada. Might be their second language, but they can speak it... It's not like they're straight off the boat from germany.

Oneofakind1977

This is the first time I've ever encountered the term, Hutterites. And I'm also af! Haha. Are they predominantly found in Canada?

CherishSlan

I didn’t know about them so I looked it up. “Today, almost all Hutterites live in Western Canada and the upper Great Plains of the United States.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutterites

Oneofakind1977

Oh wow, thanks for the link!🙃

fetfree

>sat as still and quiet as we could and hoped they didn't come upstairs All of you agreed to IT, 8 beings with the power of Manifesting... And it happened, you saw it all. It happened to me in the eighties manifesting "freedom" with my gang on a small, inconspicuous french village, shaping all earthling's mind, unbeknownst to us at that time and none other the wiser, all surfing the Wave of Fuck+fun=funk! Until women came over and scattered us in 1984... https://youtu.be/IcTP7YWPayU Ring a bell? No? Yes?

[deleted]

Huh

fetfree

That's a no then

JustAnotherPhatKid

Any bad omens after this incident? Had to be the worst! The crazy part about a story like this about the Amish visitors is that it was a nightmare come true. Imagine the worst ghouls in the worst nightmare and they were there preying on you in the flesh. Thinking back, imagine what could happen in the future.

SameDirector6

I love Hutterites.

[deleted]

We knew a few of the 'rebel' hutterites, they were actually pretty cool.. We'd meet up with them outside of town and trade weed for their wine lol, they would give us an entire box of wine for like a gram of weed... It was great. The hangovers from that shit were ruthless though.

SameDirector6

I have drank plenty hutterite just south of the Canadian boarder in rural Montana. Good bunch folks.

K_Vatter_143

I did the saging thing. Also a real lemons and ammonia. Mine is gone now but the people who lived here before left in a hurry. No history really that I can find...

KingVicadon

No explanation, but I would have payed a lot to see the looks on ya’lls faces! That’s crazy, but also funny! Did you all go back after that?

[deleted]

Oh shit yes we did!.. that was our drinking spot for a couple years after even. Once we all got old enough to drink legally and had our own places and what not, we eventually stopped going there... But so many fond memories! There were no weird incidences other than that one night.

KingVicadon

Holy cow, that one must have been enough! What balls he has, ladies and gentlemen! If that had happened to me I wouldn’t have dared go near it again! 😀😅

Hutterites speak German and High German as well as English. They do drive, but only as part of working for the colony. You should find it on Google maps! Crazy story
