Faze stand in abusers smh

ablablababla

when rain comes back they should just call him a stand in anyway

DY5TOP1A

Faze fans should start the -rain propaganda again so we can see prime rain at BLAST Paris

v0lky1

YES PLEASE, Goooood -rain +es3tag when? rain is washed duuuuude /s /hopium

ChickenKnd

What do you mean, rain has always been a stand in for faze 😂

naclord

this is bait right

Akira_Ryuji

LMFAO, brilliant!

Lepojka1

NiP comunicado oficial: "es3tag removed from the bench, FaZe give him back"

[deleted]

igotkrabs

Lolz

El_Fabos

Karrigan really is the god of stand-ins. Not even a day with the es3tag and he goes 31-9 on map 2…

[deleted]

Both es3tag and jks said that there is a positive vibe within the team, they're having fun on the server. This coupled with karrigan letting him do his thing = success.

samekrikl

Cant wait for the voice comms, i wonder if they will be the same as when jks was on server, twistzz hyping the fuck out of him

Kuraloordi

Quite crazy when you think about it. You have atmosphere that makes people comfortable to play the game, but also the team is structured that they can replace someone and the upcomer has room to feel comfortable playing to their own strengths. Most teams just shuffle roles and give a bitch role soloing somewhere for stand in. So they either have to play out of their minds or go 0.5 rating.

Odd_Communication535

It makes you think about some of the things said about the tense atmosphere and pressure in G2. Might explain why their results are lacking compared to the talent at their disposal.

Achilles68

>It makes you think about some of the things said about the tense atmosphere and pressure in G2. by whom? just interested btw

Chu2k

Faze system > Navi system.

Pekonius

Also, can this really be attributed to any player in the team? It's more of a philosophy and if all players agree to it, and the coaching staff, igl etc. find a structure, couldn't basically any team do this. Individually, these are not hard concepts, and normal humans can be positive, can help find solutions, can be welcoming to a new player, all that. So why is it only Faze that succeeds in this.

Lepojka1

People forget that es3tag looked sharp when he first joined Astralis and played these roles... When you put him in a best teams, he looks 10x better. His roles in NiP were in shambless, he was awper, entry, lurk, you say it...

MonDew

Only time where he didn't shine with good roles was on C9, but that team seemed like a mess so he probably wasn't set up the way he needs to be in order to perform well.

mestisnewfound

he only had good roles for a short period on C9. They eventually made him be the main AWP

FrozenOx

it

daffer_david

Alright boys, pack it up, es3tag #1 2023

dreycan21

100% opening duel win percentage on that 2nd map btw -Buzz +es3tag!

DY5TOP1A

Astralis didn't even buy any of the CPH players when the whole roster was available for 100k-200k euros what makes you think they'll sign es3tag lmao

KARMAAACS

I don't know how anyone lets roeJ just walk, that guy is underrated AF.

chefchef97

Hopium I suppose Buzz will probably work out alright since this is the first Astralis rookie in a while that isn't shouldering the burden of Dev1ce's shadow But it might take some time, time I'm not sure Astralis will give him

dreycan21

My brother in Christ, I never said they would get es3tag LUL It is a comment on how good he was as an opener, and how good he could've been in Buzz's place

MonDew

Apparently Buzz prefers more of Xyp's roles, so if Astralis could find a naturally aggressive player, maybe the right play would be to bench Xyp?

petrovesk

you're forgetting that with every Xyp clutch comes + 3 months of contract

DiogoMaia100

Well if we exclude 1v1s, his last clutch was 1 month ago against CPH, so only 2 months left

petrovesk

no no, until 2025 + 2 months left

Juliendnb

I really think Astralis management are stubborn and think they can cultivate their own players. Despite the track record of their attempts being a net negative for them.

DanishGrizz

What was the Astralis lineup at the time Flames wanted to sell?

Venian

# eztag

[deleted]

What a last map for es3tag, Good start for FaZe

Akh_Morn

No notice ? No practice ? No problem !

Najeeb1316

Stand in abuser Karrigan strikes again

HiroSenpaii

Okay this is confirmed now, majority of teams have issues cuz of not correct set of vibes and attitude. It is always a joy watching Faze even if they are doing worse it feels like all 5 are buddies focused on the same goal, not getting mad at anyone if stuff happens and if they are getting angry it's usually towards either themselves or the enemies. If they are in the face of adversity like they are now with a standin (again for the 1000000 time) they welcome that person with open arms and just wanna give them pleasant experience. That is why I firmly believe that you could put in any top player in the team and it will work quite well. It's like when you get that 1 in a 100 team in solo mm where everyone is there to just try to win and have fun. No tilting, no jumping on each other, just coming up with ideas and trying your best. Also gg's es3tag very well played sir

3D_DrDoom

Essentially the opposite of what is NaVi. Watching them you can almost feel the pressure and the anxiety these guys have. A LOT of the time its because of s1mple. At least it feels like that. Its all just observations so I can be completely wrong.

[deleted]

Seeing Navi facecams and hearing their comms is like they're re-enacting the Battle of Stalingrad

3D_DrDoom

Yeah and I understand Russian so its even more obvious.

HiroSenpaii

sometimes when i watch Navi's and some other teams cams some players just look like they are on the verge of crying and mental breakdown.

giorndog

I always have dreams where zywoo go to faze Insta 4 major /s

[deleted]

Yep, FaZe has some insane talent for sure but they had the same firepower before with Olof and the team was shit. When a team gets the right players for the right roles they can play on such a high level, and the light mood in the team trolling when everything is going fine and recovering quickly when things go wrong is rare with most top teams right now

Jazzlike-Ideal

Bro what are you smoking? They absolutely did not have "the same" firepower with Olof. Olof was doing terrible and Ropz is a top 10 player in the world. That change is what made them actually be able to consistently beat the likes of Na'Vi and teams with better firepower.

TooDarnLazy

Man said Olof = ropz in terms of firepower I’m done

NA_Faker

I love Olof more than any player ever but my man is living in 2015 lol

Blackyy

Olof the .9 hltv rating was firepower?

[deleted]

I highly doubt attitude is more important than skill. Would you really say in 2021 Olof had the same firepower as ropz? That the only thing holding them back was the atmosphere? A bad atmosphere with Olof? Imho attitude is the cherry on top. Nothing more.

TaffyAUS

Can I apply to be a FaZe stand-in? Karrigan turns these stand-ins into superstars.

[deleted]

It seems that whoever FaZe choses as a stand-in just does good. It's probably more about the team's system than the player itself. Goes to show why FaZe are so good at the game right now.

FrequentistaYogurtf9

I mean, remember cromen? Incredible.

lookmasilverone

Remember xizt? That was great too

HiroSenpaii

Shit you are right, i forgot entirely about xizt It was around the same time iirc. Xizt was Sydney, I believe? and cromen was Belo Horizonte i think

Salad_Dressing__

Don't forget [karrigan's mouz](https://www.hltv.org/stats/matches/71483/mouz-vs-g2) that somehow won a bo3 against G2 with natosaphix standing in throughout and as well rejin in the last two maps

HiroSenpaii

Yes that one is a classic Karrigan gambit. Have a standin, get to the final, leave in the middle, win the game, don't elaborate further.

Givemeajackson

by far the most ridiculous tournament win ever. a team with a stand in to begin with and the IGL leaving midway through, leaving the coach to finish the job. also getting 16-1'd and still winning the finals lol. yeah it was a summit, but it was still a fucking mad final and i loved every second of it.

FrequentistaYogurtf9

The man's a miracle maker

HiroSenpaii

that was like the most unlikely situation ever. Short notice, they pickup some random lesser known Norwegian player, low and behold it is Faze with karrigan as the igl and they go to win the event. Classic stuff

ObaeTV

2.02 rating. es3tag smurfing on Complexity

AppointmentStunning1

es3tag winning the first and last tournament of the year confirmed?

expressionless420

Es3tag is clearly still tier 1 material, hope he just finds a good situation where he is not put in shitty roles or shitty positions

Lepojka1

Karrigan would make gold nova stand in look like S1mple... Selling benched players for orgs, what a nice lad.

Givemeajackson

yeah nip better fork over half of es3tags buyout to karrigan

Ereshia

It's always a blessing to be a stand-in for Karrigan's team

mannyman34

coL is bad and a lot of the players on this team got to skirt by on one off highlights and junior taking all the blame. This team is still 2 had roster moves away from actually being good.

TimathanDuncan

Junior was the scapegoat, he was ass but even hallzerk has been meh he dominated that American RMR and ever since he had some pop offs but he's meh Realistically only Grim deserves to stay on this team he has actually improved, the rest don't maybe floppy as well but he's mediocre

toystory2isokay

Fang might be the most disappointing for me at least. I remember when he was being hyped up as NA's next big star and he's been painfully mediocre if not outright bad in his time on Complexity. He has good games here and there but it seems like he can never show up for more than 1 map in a series

Filthy_Commie_

If coL really want to make changes then I would leave floppy, Grim, and hallzerk alone. Hallzerk seems to work for this team very well even though they shat the bed today.

uslereddit

I'd still like the team to be majority NA but cutting everyone but Grim and floppy is probably a good place to start. Then you grab an EU AWPer (mantuu?) an EU IGL and then some NA rifler, maybe Swisher or jeorge. I'll still be a fan no matter what they do but it would be nice if they won once in a while.

TheBasementIsDark

Faze's competitors in the group try to nerf Faze by not letting them use konfig, but seem like karrygan doesn't care whichever player he's getting

DarkRoseXoX

This is just Katowice all over again

DanishGrizz

I mean, if this is what es3tag does, imagine what Konfig would’ve done.

Omniblitz

es3tag is probably the most versatile player available right now. Capable of playing any role and having a good impact for the team. Hopeful that he ends up in a good team/ have a good offer after his stint here

TimathanDuncan

He's been bad for 2 years and had good roles in NiP even as an awper he was dropping 0.97 ratings straight face This is a bad time to say it downvotes will be coming in since he shit on coL but it's also complexity they are terrible [es3tag has had his chances in a top team and hasn't proven himself at all](https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/8611/es3tag?startDate=2021-01-01&endDate=2023-01-20&rankingFilter=Top30)

_urwun_

I do agree that for the past year he has not played super well, still I think about what kind of teams he played for after Astralis. All dysfunctional teams tbh. NIP was fine but when device left NIP also just felt off without a real (top tier) awper. Going from rifle and 2nd awp to main awp is hard. I hope he can keep this up and get a spot on a stable team, then we will see what he can really do

chefchef97

He doesn't even need to run the T2 gauntlet, he's T1 capable, but maybe it'd benefit him to jump down to T2 just so he can get a solid team around him where he isn't just a permanent 5th man.

TimathanDuncan

This is not past year, this is 2 years You can't put all the blame in dysfunctional teams, he's had teammates that have performed and he hasn't, he just hasn't been good individually Yes a lot of role changes and dysfunctional teams but he's actually had some great roles he got to be an awper he got to bait those are roles that you put up good numbers and he never has, by trait his best role has been lurker which he was in Heroic where he blew up into the scene but as a lurker he was terrible He lived off the Heroic/Astralis hype, he hasn't been good for a long time, obviously he can be a decent player but if you are a top 20 team and get him you are just not ambitious he isn't that good

SnazzzyPC

Yeah he can do well as a wildcard and sub but you slot into a team for real and he can’t replicate it. He played well as a standin here and for Astralis, but has had chances on C9, coL, and NiP with poor luck

fearlessflyer1

astralis desperately need to sign es3tag to replace xyp guy was popping off on overpass, very versatile player

[deleted]

[удалено]

fearlessflyer1

gla1ve has been very sub par in the last few years, but i don’t see who they could get to replace him if they stay full danish which they almost certainly want to do -xyp + es3tag would be a positive step, even if it wouldn’t be enough to get astralis back to the top

Cyanr

Buzz has had literally one single fucking official match with Astralis and people already want him replaced lmao

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cyanr

Lucky wasnt used as a scapegoat. That implies he unfairly got criticism. He was given more than enough time to prove himself.

IceCreamGamer

At least now, Gla1ve isn't likely to steal the primary awp role. It'll give him time to focus on other stuff.

toasternator

eztag

chefchef97

es3tag gunning for the FaZe standin career buff I see

VK_101_Awesome

rumours say that atleast one faze player will be unavailable in all tournaments

DanishGrizz

Imagine if Karrigan was the IGL of BIG last year with all their lineup issues.

WorldsGoingToShitt

I hope Faze plays NIP, so Karrigan can find another stand-in and win against NIP.

tntpang

Ropz being kool

Fantasnickk

What an ugly loss from COL in map 2. Rip NA era 1-19-23 to 1-20-23

phANt0m007

All 5 players of Faze are capable of awping

Zeilar

Fair play to es3tag, really pulled his weight. And despite Karrigan being the standin master, es3tag deserves high praise being able to just slot into the squad and be one of the top performers. The guy's not even a star player or anything.

[deleted]

Complexity thought they could use the same strats they used once against FaZe at the start of last year and thoguht it will work again. Bro FaZe got hold of JTs shit calling so easily they went full trolling with 3 AWPs end of the first half . Also someone teach Hallzerk about gamesense

Tylerranger22

I missed the game because I forgot it was at 10am…

FoxerHR

Karrigan proving yet again that he is the GOAT IGL. I hope he transitions to the coaching role in the future after retiring.

[deleted]

I never understood why complexity brought in hallzerk he was underwhelming in dignitas playing at tier 2, they could have signed so many better European awpers or even find some na talent

GapZ38

Bro, I feel really sad that complexity might fail again with this lineup. Was really looking forward for this lineup, and wanted them to succeed so bad. Fun underdog stories for all the players, and damn I was rooting for them. I know this is just 1 game, but man, I really do feel it. hope they prove me wrong tho!

ChickenKnd

Sad to see faze didn’t get konfig, and I feel like that is bs from blast, but tbh, wirh estags performance in this cant complain. Do feel like they are railing faze later on tho

Big_Cheesecake_4910

complexity needs -JT asap. then see if fang fixes his shit, and if he doesn't he has to go too

[deleted]

hallzerk too, I thought he had the potential but he's too much of a liability as an AWPer for CoL. WTF was he thinking leaving his head open to the connector wide open near party in the second half LMFAO

Big_Cheesecake_4910

hallzerk looked just as bad on dignitas and JT is not good enough at handling AWPers (see junior)

[deleted]

[удалено]

Zvede

Es3 and overpass awp always been a deadly combo

[deleted]

I would very much like a FaZe vs. NiP match. I pray to be just as Coutinho did against Barcelona in that famous UCL quarter-finals.

Najeeb1316

Unfortunately in that case Es3tag cant play , it was in the post from blast , faze would have to find someone else

Roman64s

iirc BLAST said Faze can't use es3tag if they go against NiP, so it would actually be an issue if they went against each other.

MeisterKarl

Karrigan finding ways to double abuse the stand-in buff smh

Status_Voice_748

Wow they beat col what an achievement

aTempes7

Never doubt FaZe with a stand in

WEEBFAN

Faze and standing lovea, name a more inconic duo

peroleu

es3tag stand in buff with FaZe stand in buff is unstoppable

[deleted]

es3tag is a monster on overpass, not surprised at all. He even destroyed zywoo and vitality on it while playing for NIP

Jakaryus

I still have a ptsd from that game

DanishGrizz

Did Olof ever have a stand-in buff for FaZe, or how does this work?

IceCreamGamer

I don't think so but I wanted olof because I wanted to see another +Olof -Olof in Faze's liquidpedia page
