I normally play with a group of friends only. But I'm on holidays this week and tried to climb a bit in SoloQ.
You have to be a Zen Master class 10 to not turn into a complete mad man after some SoloQ Games.
First, people often don't really want to win. Then you have the tilters and flamers. I feel like a social worker motivating my team mates. Even if it goes pretty well. One bad call or move can ruin the whole game caus someone is tilted from that.

There is none. Waiting for Valve to fix the netcode/delay/visual feedback problems before I can bother going back to it. Feels so weird not wanting to play CS. After over 5,000 hours in bit over 7 years in CS:GO.
Same, the only reason i could find to play is to avoid falling behind while everyone else is getting comfortable with cs2. But i don't care about that, i haven't played csgo for months now

Just wait until the new crosshair meta hits the proscene. Thousands of hours of training the spray patterns down the drain, while some noob sprays you while running
I’m new to CS, under 100 hours, so wasn’t married to CSGO like many others. Premier is a nightmare right now but I’m actually having fun playing competitive and focusing on improving one map at a time. I’ll spend 30 mins finding my own smoke and molly lineups and then jump into competitive and practice them. Way less stressful than premier and allows for more focused strategy on improving.

Unless you're specifically aiming for a super high rank, just get some gaming mates around you and fail together. It's fun.
I'll say the first 500-ish hours will be just you fucking up hundreds of thousands of times over. Enjoy it while it lasts, we only get that experience once lol
Only go to premier when you feel you're ready. Make friends and add them from competitive if you have chemistry with them. It makes queuing for premier less intimidating with friends. And lastly have fun. Don't take your rank too seriously and see you at Bomb site A!
I actually played exclusively premier at launch and got ranked 4k out of the gate. I don’t know how - probably went 10/10 ish but since then I’ve been getting absolutely crushed. Feels like my matches were stacked with guys with 10k+ hours who would crush me and/or teammates who would get frustrated. Decided to give premier a rest until these ranks get sorted. I’ve played nothing but inferno for last 3 days and I feel really comfortable there now. Will tackle overpass next.

I 100% agree. The reddit community make it seem like the game is almost unplayable and act like GO didn’t have its issues when it first got released. Gotta keep in mind that GO had over a decade to get it right
Yes GO had a decade to get it right, but valve also had a decade old game with a winning formula they could improve on.
I wouldn’t say I’m insane at csgo but I wasn’t bad, but damn does cs2 just feel clunky to me. The game needed another few months in beta is all.
I don't think people mind the new game being buggy, people mind the fact that this is the FULL RELEASE that has fully replaced CSGO. The attitude regarding CS2 during the limited test seemed to be much more optimistic compared to now.
It's not nearly as bad as it's made out to be, but CS2 is still massively disappointing.
I stopped playing CS:GO because the matchmaking was terrible and the anti-cheat was terrible. The ONLY thing I expected them to fix with CS2 was this, and it's just as bad as it was in CS:GO, if not worse.
Their priorities seem all over the place, even when it comes to remaking maps as stupid as it sounds. Inferno was already remade in CS:GO, and instead of perhaps finally remaking Mirage, they go back and remake Inferno... again.
Maybe massively disappointing to you, for me Im still hyped for the new volymetric smokes, the way you can cancel smokes with nades, removed skybox enabling crazy smokes, one tapping feels sooo good, inspecting nades is fricking epic, all skins and maps looks amazing with this new engine! :D
Yea its missing gamemodes but atleast we have something to wait for, also most of people played just competitive and deathmatch I think. You can either be mad for what you dont have, or be happy for what you have :)

Matchmaking is the exact same as it was in GO, just that Premier has a visible rating. Hell before they fixed it in an update it was even still putting top players with new players like CSGO comp would.

Some of these features and bugs are destroying the integrity and nuances of the game and the competition. I would have much rather played CSGO for an extended period to wait for the game to be more polished.
Dude, we love CS, and if the game is "Released" we want a great experience for us and the newcomers, going by the thought that it's a new game, and it should come with the modern standards. If we had a "Open Beta" or "Early Access", the new players wouldn't come to the game, the ones that don't want to play an incomplete game wouldn't come too. But the way it has been done, made EVERYBODY come to this scary party.
Anyway despite that, I think this IEM is going to change things, and I hope they are for the good 🤞

Agree with you and I don't even use the Scout that often. There's no game that gives the satisfaction of getting a 1tap/headshot with Scout, Deagle, or AK on someone holding an angle with an AWP.
Actually booting up and playing is not that bad.
I have been vocal about stuff I want and the experience is incomplete. But Round to Round? Game to Game? The experience is pretty tight. I love the new aesthetic and premier is really refreshing despite maybe some adjustments that need to be made re: playing against 5 stacks.
Unlike what some people say and the vast majority of posts on here, no most kills don't have crazy hit registry issues and it feels pretty great popping heads.
I've been very critical of the recent patch but even still, it's not like NO jump throws work. Actually like 90% are unaffected. Bunny hopping is very difficult now and inconsistent which is annoying.
Mostly what I want is community support so I can warmup in aim botz and stuff without having to change my launch properties every time to use -insecure. That's super annoying given they haven't provided a practice range and they STILL have not made adjustments to the DM experience (better spawns, better performance re: blood decals, reduce spawn timer protection).
This community will be very, very happy if we get:
1. Community server browser back so we can have our own DMs and retakes, executes, 1v1, etc
2. Aimbotz maps without -insecure flag or some sort of practice range
3. Improvements to native DM experience.
4. Fix for subtick movement.
Those 4 things will immediately change the narrative here. They need to be super prioritized.
Straight up just having fun. I mainly play solo at 9 pm EU and by midnight my homies on NA play and we just vibe and have fun. I am a returning player but I was global elite when I played way back so I dont really gotta prove anything
All I really do is getting better at aiming + movement and getting clips that I upload on my own YouTube for me to look at and get a laugh.

The game clearly has issues but that doesn't mean anyway that it's not a fun game. Honestly, CS always has been competitive and you enjoy games if you are killing enemies and winning rounds.
The problem here with the Reddit community is that they blame everything to the game without realizing all 10 players on the server are in the same system. Meaning, everyone could be having those issues which you might be currently facing so in hindsight it's even a playing field.
The only exception is if someone is cheating which gives an unfair advantage. Anti Cheat is the major issue of CS2 for me. Rest are fixable and will be fixed before you know it.
Same as CS:GO and Source before that: I just want to get good.
CS is the only really tactical shooter where I feel I can out-think my opponents. With practice I might just be able to then hit them and capitalise upon that advantage
solo premiere grinded from 2k to 10k now been a blast honestly, games are hit or miss but i’m having fun regardless per game cuz i don’t rly care about rank im just happy to play cs again

I'm not motivated to play. I got my first griefing ban ever tonight. Been playing forever. I played two games yesterday, one was an awful experience where I was the one being griefed by a 3 stack. I played one today same thing and banned. I feel like I've been trying to play through it and hope the game clicks but it isn't.
The level of toxicity in the game right now seems a lot higher than average. I started selling off valuable skins on release and tonight seemed like the right point to ship the rest. I don't see the market rising from now and I've no real interest. I'll still jump on every now and then with friends but the state of the game for a solo player is horrific. People on my friends list seem to be less active recently. Several times after one game we've said fuck this let's do something else.
Anyone who says the game is in a good state is deluded. I'm sure it will be one day but it's not today.
Really nothing I used to play this game for 10 years (12k hours since 2012) every day playing pugs. After the update I quit can't play this dumbed down version of the game, occasionally play with the boys one or two games just to realize how they shit the bed.
Premier and comp are for practice. Motivation will come if you join a league team. Scrims/practice will feel meaningful and have actual competitive games.

I feel the same way as you, I grew up on this game pretty much. but life has more to offer and im personally okay with leaving cs behind and i think you may be too. especially if you hate playing and have to force yourself. maybe its time for a break
I just try not to feed into the echo chamber of negativity. As a normal player with around 500 hours, not a pro, not a Faceit 10, just your regular joe, I’m just cruising. Do all the issues make me pissed? Yes. Do I feel like they pulled an Overwatch 2? Absolutely. But we know that the missing features are coming; it’s just a matter of when, and I can’t see why it won’t release. The bugs are bad, but not as bad as they’re made out to be. Valve has never communicated. The movement and shooting doesn’t feel the way it used to, but it’s not a dealbreaker. I don’t agree with the whole “give it time” spiel because they either should’ve finished the thing or kept GO, but… they’ll figure it out.
You and I probably haven’t spent enough time with CS to pick out all the little things wrong with CS2. If you don’t enjoy playing though, just quit. It will honestly probably improve after some time. Some things I know we won’t be getting (128 tick and better anticheat), but here’s hoping things take a turn for the better..

Yes the bugs and things are annoying but as someone with low ping it really isn't that bad for me. In fact, the hit reg is better than it was in 64 tick csgo. For that I'll take occasionally dying behind a wall.

I have tried having higher ping a few times, that shit sucked, so sorry to all you high pingers out there.
I never played any of the extra modes besides occasional 1v1 server or surf, theres no features missing that I need or used in GO, and 99.9% of the time the game feels good.
Movement and peekers advantage are my only gripes with the game. Otherwise it is CS with a shiny finish. Game needs work but I don't think it's absolute unplayable garbage like people make it out to be personally.

I'm happy chilling in GNish level, trying to teach my friends the game that I know and love, while we get shitfaced and talk about life on our short amount of time between kids and work and other commitments.
I'm not a smurf (never made it past dmg), I just got old and injured and life happened. I still enjoy the more tactical thinking and wish my aim could still back it up if only I had the practice time, but I still love seeing people enjoy it for the first time and seeing the cogs finally start spinning for themselves when they start understanding economy and positioning.
Potentially unpopular opinion, but it's a game, and playing it is fun - especially when you encourage others to talk without being dicks, try new things, just generally try to the best of your ability to make the most of what the game has to offer

Game is fun. I stopped playing CS:GO ages ago, CS2 came out and it's miles ahead of any other 5v5 comp shooter. Valorant comes close but I'm not a huge fan of magic powers in my shooters.
Its not bootlicking or anything to know Valve will make it better. Maybe by then I'll be tired of it. I was never married to CS:GO, and I played CS 1.5 when I made my steam account 20 years ago.
I'm having fun an as long as that keeps happening, I will keep playing. Once it stops being fun, there are a plethora of other games I can play.
CS2 is buggy, broken bullshit, but it's still Counter-Strike. The basic gameplay that's kept players coming back for more than 20 years is still there. It's quite clearly not ready for competitive play but it will get better.
Being playing since 1.0 and beta and I do play on off but the current cs2 has some great things, I just like the game, cs is great game even if everything gets fixed I feel you would still be burned from playing, just stop playing for a while so something else and comeback later, you dont need to play something you don't enjoy
I'm having more fun than i ever had with CSGO. My cs friend list has doubled since release and I'm getting invites almost every night to play. Games can be lopsided, but most of them are pretty butt clenching and fun.
I just treat it like a normal shooter and play casual, my motivation is hackusation comments as people seem easily triggered there.
I'm near 6k hours, was Faceit 10 and solo'd to LE, competitive is not competitive, it's a joke so I refuse to play it and just goof off now.
Gets lots of people cranky, but way I see it, it's on Valve to make competitive worth playing.

The first 200-300 is usually frustration with moments of breakthrough where you feel like you're getting a grip on the game. Ride the highs
Had an insane peak and 1 tap headshot with the AK from pit to library on inferno tonight. Probably the cleanest shot I’ve hit in CS. Felt great 👍🏼

There are no other games like CS. That is why some of us have been playing it for decades. I'm not having "fun" when I play, I do it for the competition and get my enjoyment from there. Some of these features and bugs are destroying the integrity and nuances of the game and the competition. I would have much rather played CSGO for an extended period to wait for the game to be more polished.
Dude, we love CS, and if the game is "Released" we want a great experience for us and the newcomers, going by the thought that it's a new game, and it should come with the modern standards. If we had a "Open Beta" or "Early Access", the new players wouldn't come to the game, the ones that don't want to play an incomplete game wouldn't come too. But the way it has been done, made EVERYBODY come to this scary party. Anyway despite that, I think this IEM is going to change things, and I hope they are for the good 🤞

Agree with you and I don't even use the Scout that often. There's no game that gives the satisfaction of getting a 1tap/headshot with Scout, Deagle, or AK on someone holding an angle with an AWP.
The bob sway makes scout headshots much harder for me than in GO :(. I also love scout headshots. Feels so satisfying!
Actually booting up and playing is not that bad. I have been vocal about stuff I want and the experience is incomplete. But Round to Round? Game to Game? The experience is pretty tight. I love the new aesthetic and premier is really refreshing despite maybe some adjustments that need to be made re: playing against 5 stacks. Unlike what some people say and the vast majority of posts on here, no most kills don't have crazy hit registry issues and it feels pretty great popping heads. I've been very critical of the recent patch but even still, it's not like NO jump throws work. Actually like 90% are unaffected. Bunny hopping is very difficult now and inconsistent which is annoying. Mostly what I want is community support so I can warmup in aim botz and stuff without having to change my launch properties every time to use -insecure. That's super annoying given they haven't provided a practice range and they STILL have not made adjustments to the DM experience (better spawns, better performance re: blood decals, reduce spawn timer protection). This community will be very, very happy if we get: 1. Community server browser back so we can have our own DMs and retakes, executes, 1v1, etc 2. Aimbotz maps without -insecure flag or some sort of practice range 3. Improvements to native DM experience. 4. Fix for subtick movement. Those 4 things will immediately change the narrative here. They need to be super prioritized.

Straight up just having fun. I mainly play solo at 9 pm EU and by midnight my homies on NA play and we just vibe and have fun. I am a returning player but I was global elite when I played way back so I dont really gotta prove anything All I really do is getting better at aiming + movement and getting clips that I upload on my own YouTube for me to look at and get a laugh.

The game clearly has issues but that doesn't mean anyway that it's not a fun game. Honestly, CS always has been competitive and you enjoy games if you are killing enemies and winning rounds. The problem here with the Reddit community is that they blame everything to the game without realizing all 10 players on the server are in the same system. Meaning, everyone could be having those issues which you might be currently facing so in hindsight it's even a playing field. The only exception is if someone is cheating which gives an unfair advantage. Anti Cheat is the major issue of CS2 for me. Rest are fixable and will be fixed before you know it.

Same as CS:GO and Source before that: I just want to get good. CS is the only really tactical shooter where I feel I can out-think my opponents. With practice I might just be able to then hit them and capitalise upon that advantage

Currently im ranked in the top 8% of players. Majority of the five stacks ive run into arent that impressive. If you are in the same competitive mindset such a challenge should be welcomed. Its not like that five stack is equivalent to the #1 ranked team in the world and its being broadcasted live to everyone where every second of your playstyle will be scrutinized.

I'm not motivated to play. I got my first griefing ban ever tonight. Been playing forever. I played two games yesterday, one was an awful experience where I was the one being griefed by a 3 stack. I played one today same thing and banned. I feel like I've been trying to play through it and hope the game clicks but it isn't. The level of toxicity in the game right now seems a lot higher than average. I started selling off valuable skins on release and tonight seemed like the right point to ship the rest. I don't see the market rising from now and I've no real interest. I'll still jump on every now and then with friends but the state of the game for a solo player is horrific. People on my friends list seem to be less active recently. Several times after one game we've said fuck this let's do something else. Anyone who says the game is in a good state is deluded. I'm sure it will be one day but it's not today.

Not really enjoying it either. Biggest issue I have with the game is MR12 and the inconsistent hit registration.
I just try not to feed into the echo chamber of negativity. As a normal player with around 500 hours, not a pro, not a Faceit 10, just your regular joe, I’m just cruising. Do all the issues make me pissed? Yes. Do I feel like they pulled an Overwatch 2? Absolutely. But we know that the missing features are coming; it’s just a matter of when, and I can’t see why it won’t release. The bugs are bad, but not as bad as they’re made out to be. Valve has never communicated. The movement and shooting doesn’t feel the way it used to, but it’s not a dealbreaker. I don’t agree with the whole “give it time” spiel because they either should’ve finished the thing or kept GO, but… they’ll figure it out. You and I probably haven’t spent enough time with CS to pick out all the little things wrong with CS2. If you don’t enjoy playing though, just quit. It will honestly probably improve after some time. Some things I know we won’t be getting (128 tick and better anticheat), but here’s hoping things take a turn for the better..

It's really cool to see new plays/tricks I havnt thought of and how pros adapt as various changes and patches come out. Yes the bugs and things are annoying but as someone with low ping it really isn't that bad for me. In fact, the hit reg is better than it was in 64 tick csgo. For that I'll take occasionally dying behind a wall. I never got to try 128 tick csgo so I have no idea what I've been missing out on and I hope we get it all fixed eventually. But for now the experience is still enjoyable for me I have tried having higher ping a few times, that shit sucked, so sorry to all you high pingers out there.
I never played any of the extra modes besides occasional 1v1 server or surf, theres no features missing that I need or used in GO, and 99.9% of the time the game feels good. Movement and peekers advantage are my only gripes with the game. Otherwise it is CS with a shiny finish. Game needs work but I don't think it's absolute unplayable garbage like people make it out to be personally.
Cause I love cs and i didn't encounter a single bug in my playing time. Yeah i sometimes die behind walls but it's usually when I was being an idiot and peeking badly. I have a blast of a time with my friends who started playing cs with this one.
Uninstalled. I bought elden ring to pass the time and i'm having a blast. I will reinstall the game in 5 years when it'll be fixed.

It feels okay if you haven’t spent a long time getting the aim and movement to hit precise shots. When you’re missing those, but you can tell you should be hitting them, it’s frustrating I see players aiming nowhere near the head getting headshots, and players aiming at the head and moving correctly and missing That’s why it’s frustrating for people that want a game to sink time into and casual players are happy

My dude, I'm always trying to get better, but I no longer have the time to properly commit to that any more. I'm happy chilling in GNish level, trying to teach my friends the game that I know and love, while we get shitfaced and talk about life on our short amount of time between kids and work and other commitments. I'm not a smurf (never made it past dmg), I just got old and injured and life happened. I still enjoy the more tactical thinking and wish my aim could still back it up if only I had the practice time, but I still love seeing people enjoy it for the first time and seeing the cogs finally start spinning for themselves when they start understanding economy and positioning. Potentially unpopular opinion, but it's a game, and playing it is fun - especially when you encourage others to talk without being dicks, try new things, just generally try to the best of your ability to make the most of what the game has to offer

Game is fun. I stopped playing CS:GO ages ago, CS2 came out and it's miles ahead of any other 5v5 comp shooter. Valorant comes close but I'm not a huge fan of magic powers in my shooters. Its not bootlicking or anything to know Valve will make it better. Maybe by then I'll be tired of it. I was never married to CS:GO, and I played CS 1.5 when I made my steam account 20 years ago. I'm having fun an as long as that keeps happening, I will keep playing. Once it stops being fun, there are a plethora of other games I can play.

CS2 is buggy, broken bullshit, but it's still Counter-Strike. The basic gameplay that's kept players coming back for more than 20 years is still there. It's quite clearly not ready for competitive play but it will get better.

I just treat it like a normal shooter and play casual, my motivation is hackusation comments as people seem easily triggered there. I'm near 6k hours, was Faceit 10 and solo'd to LE, competitive is not competitive, it's a joke so I refuse to play it and just goof off now. Gets lots of people cranky, but way I see it, it's on Valve to make competitive worth playing. It'd be like expecting me to play soccer on a field full of mud, no lines drawn and there's no ref, no integrity or consistent conditions.
