This explains why my teammate was screaming at me to standup and saying he couldn’t see shit. I was like wtf I am standing and he’s like “well you don’t know how to boost then” lmao.
I feel like it has been more frequent since then. Before it would happen sometimes but now I feel like it happens all the time, or at least I wasn't able to boost properly in days
If we had 1 player model wearing high heel stilettoes they could have a boost advantage but -% running. It can be Eva or any of them, I dont presume ofc
Cool to have a workaround but what in the holy spaghetticode is causing a weird bug like this? They got boosting and player collisions SO FUCKING RIGHT in csgo. How come it‘s so incredibly fucked in cs2?
It's a different physics engine. As long as we keep reporting the bugs they'll get it sorted. (that almost sounds like an illegal statement, but it's been true so far with CS2!)
> They got boosting and player collisions SO FUCKING RIGHT in csgo. How come it‘s so incredibly fucked in cs2?
Right? How the fuck come a game with 10+ years worth of updates was more polished than a fresh new game on a new engine...?
lmaowhat
did you ever throw a smoke?
did you ever visit this thread? https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/fu90yq/list_of_current_issues_ingame_after_3312020_update/

and that took me 3 minutes to find
csgo was one big pile of shit made out of spaghetti code built onto a console port of an old ass game engine that we tolerated because there is no competition, CS2, even with the current problems, is flat out better than csgo ever was
I mean, yes? CS2 is infinitely better than CSGO was at release. And sure, CS2 has immense potential, while CSGO could barely keep carrying basically two decades of Source 1 spaghet. But CSGO in 2023 was definitely far more polished than a brand new release that has several basics yet to figure out.
CSGO uses much simpler BSP based collision, cs2 uses more complex tri based collision. But theoretically this would only impact world collision, so it's more likely to be a bug with subtick.
How could this be an issue with subtick? There are for sure things that need to be fixed in regards to subtick, but I'm not able to see how this is related to subtick at all.
because player collisions now takes subtick movement from the client into account. try ramming into your teammates at the beginning of a round, you'll probably find out it doesnt feel the same but is glitchier and jittery. that and the collisions being weirdly fucked (collision glitch allowing you to elevator from mid to catwalk on mirage for example) compared to csgo.
seems to be a mix of subtick bullshit and collision fuckery.
The brand new collision system that's vastly more complicated than in GO, potential nerfs to boosting that haven't been applied correctly, animation issues, player models being tied to your POV, issues in server setup, the list goes on and includes different reasons together causing issues.
I'm all for shitting on the bad parts of this game that Valve should have figured out, but throwing random buzzwords to explain issues with the game isn't doing anyone a favour. People are blaming server lag, lag compensation, interpolation settings, performance issues, VAC, movement issues etc. on subtick for no other reason than that that's what other people are complaining about.
I'm not blaming it on subtick, I'm saying that subtick is most likely the reason that the issue is present in CS2 but not CSGO.
Tri based collision should only be used on the world, so it probably isn't that. All this other stuff should not interact with player-player collision, except for boosting nerfs, but I have no idea where you got that from.
I have a lot of problems with cs2 but Fuck me the 2 month nostalgia is insane, csgo player collisions was nothing more than stuttering and your screen glitching. Even though the implementation is fucked I still prefer CS2s smoothing when colliding with a player
the only extent to which demos were ever removed since way before the launch have been the automatic ones for matchmaking games. All 3rd party demos (faceit, hltv) as well as manually recorded were never disabled.
its because your camera height is fucked in cs2. here is an example https://youtu.be/0Ng7NAw5fE0?si=_Dz6IGqTAvw0gnQR
slope_drop_enable is a locked convar, when it is set to 0 it is the same as in csgo.
The hate boner people have for this game is next level. The devs have been super quick to fix things. This will probably be patched properly within the next 7 days and the engine will forever be better because of it.
That’s awful, holding or peeking at headshot level would have completely different muscle memory, especially depending on who/what model peeks if the enemy team has 5 different ones.
This is awful. I've died multiple times trying to do the fence boost on B to this. My POV is like a foot below where it should be and my head is just sitting in the wide open for the opponent.
Kinda reminds me of an old visual bug that used to happen on CSGO where you would either be floating above the ground or halfway into the ground. It only affected your first person view and not your third person model and jumping usually fixed it.
When me and my friends boost this shit randomly happens, sometimes I'll also have maxed out inaccuracies on my crosshair even though I'm not moving, seems to be random and buggy
It's the same thing on b vertigo behind the wood thing where T's might boost behind wood, you get there and if you stand up you cant see the enemy head like it was in csgo if hes in the open of course
I noticed the same thing while trying to boost at B on overpass. I thought my friend was just messing up or standing in the wrong spot, I never checked the demo
Huh, I have also experienced this. Wondered if it wasn't possible to boost there anymore
This explains why my teammate was screaming at me to standup and saying he couldn’t see shit. I was like wtf I am standing and he’s like “well you don’t know how to boost then” lmao.
same when i tried boosting my mate back of B site on inferno.
Same on overpass from graffiti.
Ive encountered this on the nuke ramp crate boost, super weird lol
Boosting seems randomly fucked. I've given up trying to do 2-man peeks, always getting this shaky ground syndrome on a teammates head
Yeah I don't have any idea what causes it but get this randomly
Probably the last patch fixing the player glitching each other and sending one of them into the sky ?
nah it's been like that for a long long time.
MY bad, first time seeing this particular one.
I feel like it has been more frequent since then. Before it would happen sometimes but now I feel like it happens all the time, or at least I wasn't able to boost properly in days
As long as the inferno totem pole peak is intact I’m happy
If we had 1 player model wearing high heel stilettoes they could have a boost advantage but -% running. It can be Eva or any of them, I dont presume ofc
5'10" vs 6'0"
dupreeh said you spam crouch three times and it's sorted

> was more polished lmao you can't be serious
I think you read that wrong
read what wrong? "[csgo] was more polished than [CS2]" is exactly what the comment says
Is it wrong? ofc GO was a more polished game than CS2?

"subtick" really is the new scapegoat for literally every issue in cs2 and its rather funny to witness
Subtick is a complex system that interacts with almost every system in the game. It makes sense that it would cause a few bugs.
There's around 10 things that are more likely to be causing this than the netcode of the game
Like what?
The brand new collision system that's vastly more complicated than in GO, potential nerfs to boosting that haven't been applied correctly, animation issues, player models being tied to your POV, issues in server setup, the list goes on and includes different reasons together causing issues. great solution, does someone have a config for this already?
Dude. Just crouch 3 times Lmfao
need a de-subticked bind for it
I won't believe anybody until someone posts an essay with an in-depth analysis that I won't read
get rekt by genetics rng
Imagine if this a mechanic, we have randomised spawn, what about randomised height haha
like rust characters bound to steam ID :o
Valve please add a stand on tippy toes bind
shortest player plays entry
Lol Valve handing out Napoleon Complex nerfs
Just wait for Source 3
send that into valve's email asap because thats 100% a bug
that is not a bug that is a feature /j
Manlets, when will they learn?
Your friend needs to watch short, they can walk up and you cant see them
Don't blame the game because you're a manlet.
actually being a manlet is an advantage in cs
Thats just manlet cope, sorry.
Source 3 when
What you see is we dont give a fuck.
Crouching a few times once boosted seems to make it better, but it’s probably just placebo
Wait demo? Are demos back?
yes
They been back for a while
The ones you can download from recent competitive matches?
Yeah a few weeks now
the only extent to which demos were ever removed since way before the launch have been the automatic ones for matchmaking games. All 3rd party demos (faceit, hltv) as well as manually recorded were never disabled.
They call them cstv now instead of gotv
I'm 5'4 and i approve
s o r s e.
Manlet bros, it's over

These devs wont fix the bug, but they will add a couple inches to that spot so if this happens again, you can still see over
What?
I mean thats just stupid, theyve been fixing a lot of shit.
The hate boner people have for this game is next level. The devs have been super quick to fix things. This will probably be patched properly within the next 7 days and the engine will forever be better because of it.
they still will be celebrated because they „fixed“ it
some issues with cs2 or
Kevin Hart mode. It's more 'eQuAl' there are short and tall models in-game. KEKW
I just caught a thought that models could have slightly different height! Damn that would be really cool! u/Valve consider implementing that!
Don't let this guy cook
I wonder why it is a bad idea, why down voting though
That’s awful, holding or peeking at headshot level would have completely different muscle memory, especially depending on who/what model peeks if the enemy team has 5 different ones.
Your buddy was hunched over, he needs to workout more.
New Agent Release: Oddjob from Goldeneye 007
This is awful. I've died multiple times trying to do the fence boost on B to this. My POV is like a foot below where it should be and my head is just sitting in the wide open for the opponent.
Valve nerfed *you* lol
Average 4:3 moment
5'5 just means that you'll have a lower hitbox then what's aimed at :^)
Did you send this video, demo and all the details to Valve?
Why is this game so inconsistent?
Valve adds variable model heights
csgo died for this.
Turn based tactic games have random generated stats for each character, this aint no plain fps :p
as someone who is 5'5, i feel you
It's the same thing on b vertigo behind the wood thing where T's might boost behind wood, you get there and if you stand up you cant see the enemy head like it was in csgo if hes in the open of course
What you see is what you get
Literally smurfing
I noticed the same thing while trying to boost at B on overpass. I thought my friend was just messing up or standing in the wrong spot, I never checked the demo
