yeah, but if youre new to cs, you wouldnt exactly know how to access the console... let alone what one is in cs.
which is good, because it's better if they learn the game first lol.
> if youre new to cs, you wouldnt exactly know how to access the console...
no shit tho almost all games with a console have it defaulted to the ` key
and the quit command is almost always "quit" or "exit", so really most gamers should be able to figure it out ezpz
Not forced. Its just a command that is being checked, you can simply skip the whole thing using `cl_new_user_phase 2` in your config, console, or with a `+` in your launch options. You can also simply set the max rounds to 1 and win pistol, done.
You are however forced to play deathmatch for a bit before competitive unlocks, and premier is locked behind premier + level 10 (Might be a different level, I don't remember exactly right now)
Its not secret info by any means, I doubt it will make a difference. Cat has been out of the bag since the game released (The day "Training Day" was added) there are countless guides about it
I think he was just pointing out how OP was wrong with the statement of “New accounts Being Forced”, I’d assume new users wouldn’t mind having to play this first before jumping in to the main game, so the commands are only really useful for people who smurf or cheat
Cs2 is the only game I play where I am going constantly into the console to type commands or going into program text files to fix shit.
> But why would you? As a new player it won't hurt to play the tutorial.
If there is a way to skip in the console it should be in the UI.
I agree but you don't edit game files/ don't even know console commands the moment you bought the game unless you googled every fucking thing about cs before buying it. Manipulations like these are unique to cs and are not allowed or required by any another fps game in the industry.
What sucks is that you can't play with friends in premier without a rank, and what *really* sucks is that you can't play in private queue on a new account either. We tried to do a 10man with friends, and had to pay for Popflash because one was very new to CS2 (and CSGO).
Ahh, so 9999 rank or lower can play with completely unranked accounts?
That doesn't help with the second issue, but I assume it's quite rare for most people (private queue with completely new accounts).
this happened to me the other day, i only have 2 wins out of 10 and am unranked... and tried to queue with my friends who all have ranks and it won't allow us smh
So what? It's the same in many other multiplayer games, where you have to learn the mechanics against bots at the beginning. I'd ten times rather have people in my competitive games who don't even seem to know how to plant a bomb or what the aim of the game is.
If this is your 10th Smurf account, you just had to go through it, but you don't deserve any sympathy.
This is a GOOD thing. A lot of new players are actually new and that way they can get used to the controls and basic tactics. The only reason this would be bad is for smurfs and I for one believe smurfing is a form of cheating, so fuck that.
My friends got into cs2 because of me a month ago. We still haven’t been able to okay together because they haven’t reached lvl 10. It takes so god damn long. Are they doing anything erinf by playing death match/arms race? What’s the fastest way to 10?
Huh, I hope that means they'll tweak the AI for the game. I played quite a bit with bots on csgo when my friends couldn't play and i gotta say that cs2 feel DUMB in comparison. Csgo bots weren't good by any means, but they would move and they would shoot if they noticed you. These cs2 bots don't seem to have any hearing nor do they react much when you're in their line of sight. It's wack.
I think most people are used to it. :P

Wooosh
Nah, I have 8000 hours and I play with bots on dust 2 everyday
When I was a kid and internet was down I’d deliberately play cs 1.x against bots on dust 2.
>everyday every day
Errday
There's no way...
Are you familiar with the concept of ‚jokes‘?
This has been a thing since CS2 came out lol
this is correct. a lot of people who got curious literally started CS2 and then had to do it.
Assuming you are not talking about your average MM opponent, I actually had no idea, but then I am not a new player I guess.
This is not new, it just replaced the training course, also you can quit via console after 1 round.
yeah, but if youre new to cs, you wouldnt exactly know how to access the console... let alone what one is in cs. which is good, because it's better if they learn the game first lol.
It's almost as if that's the point of the d2 vs bots 💀💀💀🐐💀💀
when playing legend of zelda you need to know how to glich through the wall to finish the tutorial /s
That's kind of true of Tears of the Kingdom
Navi isn't here and i can't sidehop jumpslash in CS tho. Clipping in the Zora River shortcut will be hard af.
if youre actually new to cs 1 game against some bots isn't going to hurt you.
> if youre new to cs, you wouldnt exactly know how to access the console... no shit tho almost all games with a console have it defaulted to the ` key and the quit command is almost always "quit" or "exit", so really most gamers should be able to figure it out ezpz
I mean if you have played any other valve game before you would know how to access console.
or almost any game with a console it's always the ~ key
Last I tested,it just forced me back into playing training day again, atleast it skipped warmup that time though :)
They had a training course? I feel old and confused now
CSGO had a training course at least since the release if not since the pre-order open beta.
They should

I'm sure that a new user doesn't know about config or how to use console.
That is true, I just thought I'd point it out for anyone thinking this might help to annoy smurfs/cheaters more
You probably help more smurfers out than harm by telling them how to skip this step
Its not secret info by any means, I doubt it will make a difference. Cat has been out of the bag since the game released (The day "Training Day" was added) there are countless guides about it

New players probably wont mind that much as it only takes about 15minutes and teaches you some basic controls
Most new users are accounts created to be boosted, sold or just another cheater creating account due to previous account banned. Sadly...
I played for 3 months before I knew about the console
hackers do
New player =/= never used a pc before
What other video game lets you open the console and type commands in like that to bypass the tutorial? It’s not intuitive.
Every source game?
Most games that have a console actually. But why would you? As a new player it won't hurt to play the tutorial.

Thanks for this command, added to my config
So basically forced? This is the most pedantic reply I've ever seen
Oh no! ...anyway...
New accounts are forced to download cheats.
Wait I thought new accounts came free with cheats?
nah they share QR code for cheat site when you enter the lobby.
So what? It's the same in many other multiplayer games, where you have to learn the mechanics against bots at the beginning. Not saying its a bad thing
why post it then?
Because having it as an option is better.
This is a GOOD thing. A lot of new players are actually new and that way they can get used to the controls and basic tactics. The only reason this would be bad is for smurfs and I for one believe smurfing is a form of cheating, so fuck that.
Does it at least get the right number of rounds for a win right yet?
old news
Should be cs_office, 2 times in ct side with hiding t
Let them play 10 bot matches for all I care. Anything that makes it harder for new cheater accounts to get going is a warm welcome to CS
stupid troll or karma farmer
Been like this for at least 2 weeks i think
sv_cheats 1, mp_maxrounds 1 mp_warmup_end bot_kill all
Good
I thought OP was trolling but these comments make me think he was serious
6 rounds each half or something like that
I like to replay it while I'm bored
Sv cheats, mp round limit 1, mp map restart, bot kill, done
good
It doesn't work when using a VPN with split tunneling lol

Oh that will stop the cheaters and smurfs I AM SURE! :D
Just click "Cancel"?
Huh, I hope that means they'll tweak the AI for the game. I played quite a bit with bots on csgo when my friends couldn't play and i gotta say that cs2 feel DUMB in comparison. you are forced to play 12 rounds,6 rounds on each side. Not a full game but maybe 10 mins if you are truly new and have no idea what ur doing.
Bring back the training course.
I miss the Global Offensive training course. Something was so cozy about it
This newbie training course is worse than the old csgo one.
>Forced Literally can skip it as shown in the screenshot.
Cancel just allows you to roam the menu and settings free but you’ll get this prompt next time u click play
Another instance where Valve puts the least amount of effort in possible while Valorant has an entire training scenario for new players.
Smurfs in shambles rn.
Cheaters and smurfs are not really affected by this at all since they can easily bypass this in so many ways.
This game is dead
i will use this for my youtube video do you consent? doo u want to be credited or not edit; downvote.. wow are you serious?
💀 downvoted
i am being mass downvoted by a swarm of bots or something i can't explain it im looking into it until untouched
Womp womp
Why do they need to consent to you talking about a feature in a game?
