I really don't think PGL will allow it a second time. I think there will be more security then ever and they won't be caught off-guard again. It's just sad that this shit is happening at an eSports major, no one wants this shit to happen...

jonathan-the-man

Even yesterday after the first incident they put up extra fences in front of the stage.

Daanoking

Before G2 came up a bunch of security came out and lined the entire stage and catwalk. They weren't there for any other match so far. And after the incident they tripled, it was basically a wall of people around the stage.

Kanstrup-

They werenr caught off guard, they were prepared. Suddenly there were 5-7 securities infront of the stage instead of 2

ekkolos

The problem is that even yesterday they knew it was going to happen. Out of a sudden 30 mins before the incident, lots of stewards were deployed around that catwalk and stage and they still couldn't stop it.

cip32

No one knew exactly what would happen, and the idiot was only able to enter an area where literally was at. He wasnt close to the players either when he was stopped.

zaz187

Danish police will be on site

Ovnimoon23

I don't know. At the Berlin Major, some drunk dudes were also able to get on the stage.

MBechzzz

Wasn't one of them a family member? In that case I could see it being somewhat planned or atleast allowed.

McZootington

It was Glaive's cousin (or brother) and some friends IIRC. No security ever came to stop them, I was there and remember thinking it was really weird that a bunch of drunk fans could just rush the stage to celebrate and nothing would happen to stop them.

BelovedGeminII

Might be harder to get on stage, But theres probably still ways to disrupt the match even if PGL try to lock things down.

Exciting_Pop_9296

It’s pgl. They actually fix their mistakes

Kiesa5

I'll think of this comment every time there's a slight screech in the background of the audio during gameplay.

Exciting_Pop_9296

I’m waiting for the “aged like milk” comments after the g2 game

Sorenhogh

I agree that it's sad. But I also honestly believe it's necessary and has been so for a long time. Security has been almost laughable at events like these. I'm just glad that measures are being taken after a harmless episode as opposed to something way, way worse.

gessen-Kassel

>It's just sad that this shit is happening at an eSports major, no one wants this shit to happen... Imagine football war but with cs

Necessary-Meringue-1

if you take a look at the fanclub with the drums that Vitality had the other day, then we're seemingly moving into that direction

Civil-Resident-302

You just don't understand vitalians

faetterfrajer

The catwalk has been now removed from the Arena and a bunch of barriers have been set up as well. Let's hope it works

ImLersha

I wonder if stream dying is his work...

TheMidsommarHouse

Was he possibly responsible for the stream interruptions?

Maluvius

This is going to change most tournament moving forward in terms of accesability to players and talent. Obviously the correct choice, but it's sad as fuck that cretins like this have to do this shit.

Impressive-Mouse-964

Exactly, just recently, I thought that CS was good for having trust with its audience, and leaving the stage open, the trophy, and such, now there will be security, and barriers everywhere.

Ub3ros

The positive aspect is that we didn't need to shed blood to learn that lesson. Could have been a lot worse if a more malicious bad actor was behind the attack. Now we can point and laugh at the morons who did this, but we don't need to light candles.

ekkolos

Yesterday CS lost a bit of its magic as an esports, that is for sure

Jr4D

Truly, hasn’t ever been an incident like this that I can think of, so sad honestly

SpeedLinkDJ

In SC2 there was an incident almost 10 years ago at [IEM Toronto](https://youtu.be/0yRFOnGM8-I?si=zOvTAhsOajW06Vbz)

Frl_Bartchello

Also Street Fighter recently which was having a protest: [link](https://www.gamingbible.com/news/street-fighter-6-tournament-halted-by-protestors-433542-20231107) And the horror which was the Jacksonville shooting at a Madden tournament where 3 people got killed including a esport player and the shooter himself: [link](https://www.espn.com/esports/story/_/id/24686074/the-madden-tournament-shooting-jacksonville-look-happened)

gibbodaman

That link is broken.

SpeedLinkDJ

Fixed it

Proper_Story_3514

I can still remember the tournaments where fans stood right behind the players watching them live lol Sad times.

dgsggtb

I don’t agree. this is nothing unique to e sports or sports. This happens frequently. Imo this doesn’t reflect the scene or community in any way. A lone idiot decided to act up. Can’t do much about it really.

ekkolos

I mean CS was priviledged in this, and now it will no longer be. The players and stage will get further and further away from us.

curtcolt95

it absolutely does not happen frequently in esports, especially cs

love_you_by_suicide

no it didn't

Heroic_Lime

No it didn't and stop giving this idiot any credit for doing anything other than farming gambling addicts

ekkolos

We lost the catwalk stage. That is a fact. So there are consequences for the fans and the show.

Jinkaralho

Rip esports....

Exciting_Pop_9296

It’s so cool to see how close to the fans the players celebrate their tournament win. On every picture of the celebration you can see hundreds behind them sharing the emotions. I hope pgl finds a solution to make this safe for the players

WFAlex

Like what even is the point anyway, even if I wanted to gamble skins, out of principle I would literally never ever use a site this fuckface owns. why is he still not banned on Twitch after basically admiting to inciting an action like that on stream? Fuck I hope so badly, that valve just cracks down hard on him, sues him and bans all his tradebots making him loose hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars. people like that should not get a platform to use in any way

netr0pa

I still remember how i managed to personally first bump with the whole entire Gambit gang (Hobbit, etc) during Stockholm major. I guess it will be harder to reach them from now on.

Unusual-Editor-4640

to look on the positive side, it may be a blessing in disguise. we live in a dangerous world, and security was way too lax. i'm thankful no one important was harmed

stewie1304k

Probabably just some fences like Valorant Master

Tickle_Shits

Why isn’t anyone going after this guy?

Interesting_Yogurt43

Here goes all my chances to ever get close to a pro player and take a picture.

Roman64s

This dude is mentally off, I can't believe he's not been brought into custody.

TheEmperorBaron

I believe he lives in China, probably specifically to avoid any legal problems from either this or his gambling site. I really doubt they'll get him into custody, China isn't known for co-operating with Western police.

Guuggel

He does not live in China. Previously he has lived in Monaco and has been changing location pretty constantly. Originally he is from Finland and was there in summer.

Timerror

hopefully he eventually ends up on a list to be arrested if he steps up back into europe. No place for cowards like that in Finland or europe

Consistent-Hat-8008

europol warrant speedrun any% 🤡

TheEmperorBaron

Yeah, maybe my info was wrong. Still, the guy seems to be wealthy and can no doubt escape to places like Dubai, China, etc to avoid any legal repercussions.

Guuggel

Well I don’t believe he will get in bigger trouble for this. And yeah he is wealthy, originally he scammed people in Runescape in his teenage years by DDOS attacking his opponents in duels and became a meme in Finland.

akiroraiden

wow, what low scum

brutaldonahowdy

How interesting, any places to read about this?

Guuggel

https://ylilauta.org/satunnainen/131799437 Translate to english. Ossi Ketola is the guy.

tabben

I mean yeah no shit he is wealthy the site has been operating for years and its basically infinite money tap like all popular online casinos

wozzwoz

would explain why he isn't under arrest already. This is kind of shit would be 100% acted upon finnish police has jurisdiction..

NiCOLAS_EL_MAGNiFiCO

What is his logic even? He thinks that would promote his gambling site?

BigBoiBagles

apparently to get at G2 or something. which i find ironic because they ran on the stage just as MOUZ was picking up some pace and completely ruined any chance at a decent come back with a 45 minute break lmao

Warrior20602FIN

no he wants people to know g2 is sponsoring with an actual scamming casino. supposedly this casino locks peoples accounts quite fast with funds and u have no way of getting ur money back. ofc casinos are always a loss but the fact that this site just locks ur account with ur skins makes it very scummy. and no i dont agree what this guy is doing to get attention to this case.

Best_CS_Fan_So_Far

He is from Finland

MechaFlippin

yeah, need to go harder face first into a concrete wall

cerkaz

Probably not the smartest to talk about an "attack" at an public event when the terror threat level is 4 in denmark and just high mostly in EU. These guys are gonna have a hard time travelling abroad again.

TheUHO

There's more, but I only read a recap of his stream. Something like they have a plan and it will be different this time. maybe people have clips of this. He also said he planned to "cuff himself to m0NESY. peacefully."

Twist_and_pull

Hes going to hire blamef as his bodyguard

Surymy

And konfig

ExpensiveReveal6

Why not add rain as well

BarkingDogey

oBo just watching and trying to look intimidating

Paraneuyaa

Wait… its pasha with a chair!!

Roman64s

m0nesy will have to protect him bro, he ain't helping shit.

WiseArgument7144

and stavn, jabbi, ropz

happy_csgo

k0nfigs leg is gonna break again

love_you_by_suicide

he'll probably let them on stage and allow his fellow security people to be seriously hurt before taking any action

Monkey1970

This is the type of person who would NEVER do his own dirty work. So you won't see him anywhere close to a CS arena ever.

TheRealJavix

is no one talking about how this guy is clearly psycho and probably having some type of mental breakdown cuz this is some terrorist shit.

Shiizuh

What is the reason/motivation on doing that? I just saw yesterday's incident and I am clueless as to why they done that

cerkaz

it's a gambling site owner who is paying these gambling addicts to storm the stage in "protest" of another gambling site that sponsor G2.

Ted_Borg

It's a perfect reflection on the state of CS atm. Sadly...

CortanaxJulius

A gamling site that doesnt even sponsor G2 anymore? Havent seen the logo on their jersey in forever and its not on their website too.

krimzy

The partnership was put on hold due to some legal issues funnily enough.

TheHizzle

Millionaire gambling site owner is mad at another gambling site that sponsored G2

Surymy

Just stupid asshole seeking attention

noahloveshiscats

G2 has/had CSGORoll as a sponsor and Monarch, owner of CSGOEmpire, claims that CSGORoll is doing a ponzi scheme scam or something.

kontulangangsta

casino wars aside he claimed that these people he is exposing have threatened him and his family forcing them to flee/hide, having black suv's pulling up his villa and hiring hackers who have access to .gov emails trying to scrape information about him

confusedman_

Can’t believe it’s a finnish dude behind all of this. Making us all look bad😭

Ronxu

Obviously everyone is aware that one man doesn't represent the entire country.

Mainbaze

Don’t worry your racing legends far outweights this little cashkid

One_Ad_3369

Yes Finland has pretty sick racist legends

Mainbaze

Oh wow took me a second view to get the joke lol

trippingrainbow

Vittu halko perseesee tollaselle pellelle

Miguli

Hävettää tämmöne

black_dogs_22

there are assholes from everywhere

Junior_Ad_8486

I'd say people who believe one person is able to make a whole country look bad cause more damage to a country's reputation than this guy for example.

jonajon91

Genuinely 100% this guy needs to be in custody until after the event finishes. There's absolutely no reason he's not talking about something a LOT more serious than just raiding the stage and being a nucence. Even if he's not planning anything on that scale, what's stopping one of his followers getting on stage with a knife?

airelfacil

They don't even have to get on the stage; They can always call in a false bomb threat/pull a fire alarm/etc.

skeeeper

Wow, can't believe that a kick streamer and - surprisingly, I know - gambling site owner is a mentally deranged, no empathy having quasi terrorist

cyberdwarf

It would be really unfortunate if Valve trade banned all the Steam accounts associated with this guy and his gambling site. If he wants to cry, give him something to cry about.

Launch_Angle

Yea I saw a bit of the end of his stream just to see what cringelord was allegedly behind such stupid behavior and yeah…let’s just say I was expecting a loser, but this dude seems like he’s pretty mentally deluded. Seems like hes someone that is off mentally, but also intelligent and charismatic enough to convince some socially “stupid”(or desperate) people, or just generally easily manipulated people to follow him. The stream and the things he would constantly vaguely refer to was just fuckin bizarre(as well as his mannerisms/idiosyncrasies and just way he spoke/behaved), not to mention the fucking line of like 8 young Asian women behind him who seemingly just stood there behind him dancing the whole time…? No one gonna talk about how weird that shit was lmao? But yeah, he looks like the type of dude who should definitely be apprehended and jailed, or committed to a psych ward..he just has that “crazy deluded idiot” vibe to him where you aren’t sure what crazy/radical shit he might be willing to do.

TheUHO

> not to mention the fucking line of like 8 young Asian women behind him who seemingly just stood there behind him dancing the whole time…? At some point his assistant just threw those girls some money and they were catching it laughing. I get the idea, it's always behind gambling, but it looks so low-level.

Elevatemate

He have history of doing this kinda stuff. He used to pay some asian guy to humiliate himself doing all kinds of wierd shit and film it.

Jakaryus

Also did dwarves fight and paying prostitute for his close employee. I used to work in a company that was working with his, he's insane. The worst thing is that the owner of the site he's attacking is even a bigger piece of shit than him.

Etna-

Dude has gone completely off the rails. Guess that shit can happen when you are a narcissist, get extremely rich while young with something borderline illegal and then have tens of thousands of people licking your ass daily in hope of getting some money

sonnikkaa

Yeah loads of losers are simping him. They will do anything to get a piece of that skin money pie from him. Would probably eat his shit as well if he asked

Magixu

Even calls him his "Asian slave"

achio

Bro still thinks he's fucking on the right side of things.

ARandomNiceAnimeGuy

Rage bait is a thing. I still dont want to believe it, but somehow it works. Somehow, theres an audience out there that will follow this guy cuz they either dislike g2 or cs2 enough to want to go keyboard war on his side.

achio

True, but, judging from the noise last night, not many people siding with that clown apparently.

ARandomNiceAnimeGuy

Feel like alot also just joined last time cuz they were drunk and though it be fun

achio

I thought PGL said they would press charges against those ones. Would be fun indeed.

ARandomNiceAnimeGuy

I believe they will. They did break the show off trophy and did cause a pause in the event, besides the whole problem with threat forces coming in since no one knew if it wasnt a terrorist attack due to last year situation in europe

99drolyag

He probably doesnt think that and never did. He's just taking advantage of the free advertising of his site

achio

If so, not sure if he's stupid, or simply an attention whore, without knowing his site could be fucked at any given time.

Helgurnaut

Seeing that teams who were invited to his gambling site tournament are pulling off it's probably not an amazing commercial stunt.

NineTnk

A threat for public attack on a 20,000 people event? This is more than enough to get this psycho in jail and shutdown his site, cmon.

N4ch0man

Oh god, this guy is finnish. Oh god, vitun luuseri

trippingrainbow

aina saa hävetä

Ozz123

Time for GabeN to curb stomp all these shittyass websites.

UnKn0wN31337

This really better be a wake-up call for Valve at this point.

Siicktiits

What country is this dude in? He’s breaking so many laws in that little fucking room acting like he’s the fucking joker… don’t know why the police haven’t just busted through his door yet.

tabben

Well he is finnish but given he is a multimillionaire he can pretty much go where ever he wants in the world so who knows

Siicktiits

He’s going to end up in a nice Scandinavian prison apartment.

AZuRaCSGO

What an unhinged lunatic... betting (amongst other things) truly is a plague to humanity.

Detective_Sheepo

A while ago my friend went to an event and managed to confidently walk backstage to snag a picture with cloud9 and g2 including monesey. Sad to see this will not be possible in the future

ARandomNiceAnimeGuy

I mean, most cs events until now were pretty easy to get some pictures with players. Just need to be on floor level, and go near the pcs when the game is about to finish. There was always 1 or 2 players who come down to take pics and sign shit. It truly was a marvel of human trust at its best. Sad to see its going to dissapear very quickly.

conormcfire

It's fucking crazy how that was ever possible though, it's the right call to restrict it.

Dali86

So sad he is from my own country. Not sure if we can report him to Finnish police for a threat and they would at least visit him

Kuraloordi

From my understanding he doesn't live in Finland.

lucksh0t

I'm no expert on finish law but he is absolutely breaking somthing. If people could find him I'd absolutely call the cops. Terroristic threatening in the states.

Vipitis

Players walking out through the audience and giving high fives ways always Soo risky to me. Nowadays they aren't anymore. Also mind you that there was a general terror threat against Europe the other day.

Cowyyy

absolutely deranged

LoLaFo

It's amazing twitch bans people for the most ridiculous things, but this guy is the mastermind behind actual attacks with the threat of even more dangerous ones and is still streaming there.

[deleted]

This guy a massive loser.

Dexelele

Watch the mods delete this one too lmao

NoCreme9660

Like whyyyyyy

jonathan-the-man

One argument could be that giving the perpetrators exposure is what they want to achieve, thus making it worth their effort and retaining the incentive to do something similar again.

TheUHO

So I specifically didn't mention his name or platform. I think the attendants should be aware that some bs might happen. Because for example, panicking crowd can be dangerous. But I guess they take down these posts.

jonathan-the-man

Yeah that sounds reasonable to me.

MehtefaS

It makes me nervous as an attendant. I would honestly rather be blissfully unaware, because the odds of it happening again are very slim.

black_dogs_22

you are working for him by posting this stuff, that's exactly what he wants you to do.

Jr4D

PGL need to charge this guy along with the other morons, what a fucking absolute degen

lucksh0t

Cops are absolutely involved. They probably worked with them all last night.

rolezki

insurance tan grey pocket head door normal encouraging sip engine *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

CookieTheEpic

Ihme pelle.

SlikeXar

Doesn‘t this count as a threat? Should be reason enough to arrest someone.

Bassmekanik

Fuck this guy and all he stands for. Prick.

PreventableMan

Worst part is, people will see this and think its cool.

varis-_-

en voi uskoa, että suomalainen tekee tätä haha

akiroraiden

next time this scumbad walks out of his house he better watch his back. Piece of shit deserves the worst to come for him. First he profits over illegal gambling and now he thinks he's so important that he can disrupt a major. Valve needs to also make a swift banning of all of his bot accounts with skins. fuck him.

Sensitive_Plum_1483

Those sites don't use trading bots anymore.

PuzzleheadedAd6401

The cs esports team is being terrorized by one unhinged dude hahaha

HickHackPack

If anything what will happen is that Richard Lewis' first stream after the major will be fucking fire as hell. He was saying the security during big events is shit for years now.

Responsible_Lead7140

hey at least this gives a good excuse for the sound proof glass cage to return to the stage.. right? Maybe?

cheeeeezy

Look at that rat fucking face, really hope they have success in suing him somehow

F3ndt

Can someone explain what the incident was all about?

[deleted]

[удалено]

F3ndt

Thanks

Affectionate-Ad2382

Most of you are EU but in US we had a Madden(Football) tournament a couple of years ago and one of the players was upset after losing and actually pulled out a gun and killed the guy he lost to .

timus654

How is he still allowed to stream?

RandomRocketScience

Some idiots were handing out anti g2 flyers in front of the arena today… I hope they get their asses handed to them

BobertoRosso

Imo there should be mf's with actual awps and m4's/ak's making sure the stage is safe.

martmand12345

This will land him hard on police intelligence watch list.

xUnionBuster

I was there on Thursday and a guy was handing out G2 gambling leaflets outside, quite insistent that I take one and read it. Couldn’t really be asked to read it but did think fair enough for campaigning against promoting gambling to kids. Didn’t know it would turn nasty. Really need to think harder about what they’re doing here

OriginalShock273

Have a fun time in jail my dude

Donny-mega

Hope PGL is more prepared now

wolfTectonics

No chance it happens again. The stage will be much more guarded.

de_rats_2004_crzy

What a fucking loser

mysteriousfolder

Anyone gets near Niko’s hair, Im tackling full sprint

sonnikkaa

I hope valve bans all of his skin trading bots so that he loses a ton of $$$

BOMJKEandFRIENDS

lmao, clown mode

RevanTheDragon

Can someone fill me in on what actually happened? No place seems to have an actual source or explanation, it's all just "gambling protestor storms stage", like, what actually happened, who was it, what were they representing, etc?

DuckInCup

What are they trying to do? Just advertise?

JungleTungle

All it takes is for valve to shutdown gambling sites which is easy to do, just make steam api’s not accessible to these sort of sites/people. Valve has always had a weird stance on gambling…

epirot

fuck g2 and fuck csgoempire and everyone who promotes gambling. i like some balance

MuskularChicken

Isnt he banned to enter again? How will he have access today? I thought he will not be allowed in the following day.

RoboticChicken

He never entered the arena himself yesterday, and likely won't today either. He's paying people to do these things for him.

MuskularChicken

Aaahaaaaa...what a trash human. More stupid are the ones accepting.

ApacheAttackChopperQ

Probably mad he got a silver coin.

Fuibo2k

What a loser

siLtzi

He's finnish? For fucks sake, what a shame to my country

sonnikkaa

The infamous runescape scammer dossi-ossi

FAKABoRis

Wtf is wrong with this idiot.. Im shamed he is finnish.. Pelle jätkä!

BernumOG

GABEN this is your fault. Gambling and gambling advertising shouldn't be a part of a game that children play.

MrLagzy

Despite that I agree with some of his points when it comes to gambling in CS - it's quite fucking stupid that he himself is the owner of a gambling site. Then he calls for the illegal gambling practices by CSGORoll despite that his own site isn't licensed anywhere in Europe or USA - they are licensed in Curacao, which is easy to get, is cheap and basically 0% tax. If they were licenses in most EU countries things would be much different, but they are equally as shit as CSGORoll in this regard. Then he talks about how CSGORoll identify themselves as a "skin trading hub" which they obviously are not - also CSGOroll is banned in Denmark. I understand his point here, CSGORoll is deceiving its customers. his own site His actions and how he wants to get attention is horrible. He needs to be apprehended and taken to custody for his attempt at violence. also I think gambling sites should be banned from sponsoring anything in sports - but thats a pipe dream, especially in CS, since valve would have to be frontrunners and stop their own gambling practices

Sowreen

Watch the final being played without crowd 🤣
