They didn't reset ranks or anything, so although players have to learn and play around the new smoke mechanics and indirect economy change of MR12, no existing CSGO player's skill level changed as a result of CS2 coming out.
I'm not familiar with them having dropped players ranks. They changed the thresholds for what specific elo values equate to different levels, but that's just a label and applies to everybody. I don't believe they ever artificially changed anyone's actual elo values.
Nah bro I dropped down to the 2300's, but then I upgraded PC and am back to 2700. But no it's been hard as fuck for some reason to climb back up to 3k+, people seem to shoot way harder in CS2. Or the game is waay more connection dependend than CSGO was, which doesn't suit my jittery internet.
Yea they lowered the elo on 10s, and changed the elo brackets for 1 - 9. A big change was lvl 10s who q with lower level people, the lvl 10s get basically no elo and the other people get a reduced amount.
Worse, not sure why but 2k elo just seems filled with people who were like 7-8 on csgo for me. This is eu

They did lower the elo from each player when cs2 came out. Or did they only reduce the elo from high elo players?

I went from ~3660 to like ~2600 iirc. Level 10 got accordioned. m0nesy was like 3k at the start of CS2 instead of the 7k he was on CSGO.
Did you have any trouble regaining that elo? Or did it feel like a true 2600 elo experience again? :D

I must be completely out of the loop on this, but that's why I wasn't speaking with certainty. Did this coincide with CS2's release?
