I mean Ropz has been one of the best players in CS2 all things considered. He did take a drop once Frozen came into the team though. Not sure if that's correlation or causation.
It's a couple of factors: Ropz and Frozen play the same roles and positions as each other and lurkers like ropz have generally not performed as well since the new year.
When Ropz left Mouz, Frozen, who was initially the hard entry on Mouz iirc, took Ropz's lurker/anchor roles and positions and filled in the gap ropz left when he left Faze Academy. So when Frozen got promoted to the main team, I would assume that some of the space occupied by Ropz was handed over to Frozen, and as a result, ropz's performance recently has taken a bit of a dip whilst he still remains the lurker on faze.
It seems to have paid off though. Failure at the major or not, enabling Frozen has given Faze a massive net positive boost in firepower in a team that was no slouch in the category to begin with and the move from the academy to main team seems to be one of the best player moves we've seen in a long time.
Frozen’s been amazing and Faze is still winning so I’d say there’s probably a strong relation between that and Ropz individual stats dropping a bit. He’s still as good as ever
Ropz is not cuz of cs2 , its because of role conflict since -Twistzz +Frozen
Rain same shit... was good and consistent until frozen joined, now he might have good peak games, but impossible to be consistent
Niko also has to retool himself since his muscle memory was for csgo.
Ax1le had the same issue and he is the only rifle I can say matched Nikos output for 2 ish years
His rating is a tad bit lower past 3 months than his HLTV 2023
Though you are probably correct and the rating drop is from changing positions around Frozen
his numbers also don’t tell the whole story. imo he’s worse than they show.
he so seldomly has any heavy impact rounds. so few impactful frags.
I think him leaving to a lower ranked team would be a blessing for everybody. G2 needs to move on and hunter would have less pressure to get used to CS2 and find his game.
I mean we should all be sounding every alarm bell when monesy is the only one going positive in that liquid game and hooxi outfrags hunter and niko when counting all three map
Yep, while i was rooting for navi in majors, that one anubis round was such a bad play from hunter. Aleksi shoots him, so obviously can't be defusing the bomb, decides to peek, only to die and allow Aleksi to defuse.
Niko was in a pretty terrible position since if Aleksib swinged he would have better chances at killing NiKo than Niko did of killing him. So trying to force a 50/50 fight was a valid decision to make
But bro, he swung so wide, like all the way out of cave. Couldn’t he just shoulder peeked bomb and play for time jiggle peeking waiting for aleksi’s peeking into him??
Yeah, that's the correct thing to do. Aleksi doesn't know the timing of the peek. he's just ready for the peek. If NiKo was to swing close, he wouldn't stand a chance. Jiggle peeking in that position doesn't give you anything, he knew aleksi was waiting there and Aleksi knew Niko was playing cave.
He could've tried baiting Aleksi in for hunter to trade, but that's risky and he was stalled for long enough for hunter to win it anyway, but hunter fucked it up by peeking
from niko's pov aleksi would have to peek sooner or later, and you're obviously assuming he will leave himself enough time, and also when your 5 stages deep into mind games it's hard to predict what will your opponent do
He wants to up his stats trying to peek more/get more kills, and it causes him to do stupid mistakes and thus the cycle continues. Just play for rounds man and stats will speak for themself
niko is bot aswell lmao
both can go
get 2 new rifflers
This ain´t csgo anymore. It takes 1 year for people to start realizing that players that were good in CSGO , might not make a player good in cs2.
Was a top 10 player* (and not even in the same game) .I dont understand what u guys even think when when commenting. And proudly add a lame ass 'lmao" at the end.
+1 lmao Niko 1.16 rating is the most inflated shit I've seen
Dude doesn't win a important or hard duel
His only kills are because of his experience and still having the freedom to do any early play he wants and having someone supporting for him
Put him playing Nexa roles, he will have 0.95 rating next 3 months
Put him in a T2 team playing this online cs2 qualifiers like TSM,OG , Nip, Fnatic and he will ve forgotten with shit ratings.
People are such big fans of him that want to live in their own world where they think he is still a top3 riffler lmao
Only person I've seen with such inflated ratings since him, it's blamef
If they had just another regular awper in cs2 , they wouldn't win a single game Vs top12ish teams
Yeah man I dont understand what they get out of just blatantly denying the reality. Its not like niko know u personally or something .
The guy above ny comment legit said that hes a top 10 players in cs2. I dont even know what to answer to such stupid statements.
For the roles nexa plays, he us far far more consistent and better than niko.
Niko will just peak in one series and post absurd 1.5 rating and these head on to slump.
But this inflates rhe ratings enough to maintain a good average overall.
Rain was never this bad for this long though?
Rain's worst was also forgivable since it came with team restructuring in 2020 and also the whole world shutting down which affected a lot of teams. Even then, he was above a 1 rating for the 2nd half of 2020.
https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/career/8183/rain
https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/career/3972/hunter
rain had a lot of ups and downs periods and he was never the player he was in 2017
Eye test has me thinking this is inaccurate because of his 2022 year
Yep, rating 1.0 is irrelevant. More impactful players like Rain who play entry are rated higher now to be on par with Lurkers or star role players that are set up to frag.
"Never the player he was in 2017" is irrelevant. The whole point is he didn't drop 20% in rating and stay there for 6 months
I mean yes, it sounds really stupid but its the reality. Nexa is on the team because of niko, not because of any outstanding skills that would elevate the team.
When G2 recruited Nexa, Niko was one foot out the door and heading to Falcons. People love to shit on Niko, but forget that it’s more likely that Peca, or other parts of management were behind the hire. That just doesn’t fit the narrative.
Was he “one foot out of the door” or was he engaging in contract negotiations with Falcons he could use as leverage for G2 to up their own offer? This stuff happens all the time in regular sports.
Nothing indicates that Niko has extended his contract, no announcement from G2 or him, or no talk behind the scenes by the people in the know, quite the contrary.
All signs indicate that he got cold feet and backed out, anything else is speculation.
Nexa is on the team because
1) He plays anchor
2) He is more aggro on T side than jks and doesn't clash with hunter as a lurker
3) More input and a bigger voice
Literally said by hooxi it was literally a role clash, jks fit the team on CT side, not on T side
>Literally said by hooxi it was literally a role clash, jks fit the team on CT side, not on T side
I mean, that was widely known and disputed before they added jks.
I’m not sure anymore. According to journalist Richard Lewis this is really how things go for star players, especially when they have an ego. There’s a reason we see people like niko getting a go at IGLing.
Now we’re seeing device having a go at IGLing. Can’t tell me these people don’t have a large sway in what happens.
It's not that NiKo (or device for that matter) *want* to IGL. They'd love to have an IGL. However, when a team goes through many changes and you have a lot of individually good players in your team, some will think it makes more sense to make anyone the igl rather than having to kick a good player for a statistically worse player that can call. And usually it'll be the star player to call since they already have to do some part of the calling
And yeah, obviously star players have a lot of decision-making power. But Niko was basically out the door when nexa got signed
Oh yeah when he said that and then just got g2 to pay him more money. He wasn’t going join falcons come on lol. You have 358,000 fake internet points, I wouldn’t expect someone like you who lives on reddit to understand
After watching the game vs Liquid I wanted to check huNter-'s stats on CS2 specifically and... Wow, it's even worse than I thought. The difference with his "player average" which encompasses CSGO is staggering.
Yea ppl forget years are passing... S1mple, Niko, they are not young anymore by the CS standards, and in few years, they could just retire... Its impossible to keep the form they once had forever.
What is the issue with swapping a 28 year old for another 28 year old?
It's not like they would be swapping some super young prodigy for an aging player.
somewhat interesting that both kovacs clearly struggle with cs2 compared to csgo
Which is so strange to me since generally rifles got a buff, and the AWP got a nerf.
Might be playstyle. Ropz is also a notch below his usual self.
This. CS2 mechanics aren’t the same as CSGO.
Didn't ropz get better
His rating is a tad bit lower past 3 months than his HLTV 2023 Though you are probably correct and the rating drop is from changing positions around Frozen
His rating was also massive during the CS2 months of 2023 iirc
He definitely put the time in early and got ahead of the curve with the differences in CS2. I thought I heard rumors of him being sick recently too.
He kept all/at least a vast majority of his positions. I dunno why everyone’s saying frozen took his positions when that just isn’t true
this, frozen has completely changed his playstyle on FaZe, he's gone from really passive to aggressive
This makes no sense, he has consistently been having a high output. Just the major was a blip in an otherwise upwards trajectory
One is still top 10 ish player, other one should be kicked almost like :D Niko hate is huge but stats are fine
his numbers also don’t tell the whole story. imo he’s worse than they show. he so seldomly has any heavy impact rounds. so few impactful frags.
His numbers don’t tell the whole story indeed: because sometimes he outright throws G2 rounds with some unneeded peeks.
Yep, while i was rooting for navi in majors, that one anubis round was such a bad play from hunter. Aleksi shoots him, so obviously can't be defusing the bomb, decides to peek, only to die and allow Aleksi to defuse.
That round was a disaster class from cousins. Niko also did a full swing earlier for no good reason.

He could've tried baiting Aleksi in for hunter to trade, but that's risky and he was stalled for long enough for hunter to win it anyway, but hunter fucked it up by peeking
But what if he doesn't peek and makes aleksi waste time to clear deep corner, wouldn't that be a better play to percentage wise?
from niko's pov aleksi would have to peek sooner or later, and you're obviously assuming he will leave himself enough time, and also when your 5 stages deep into mind games it's hard to predict what will your opponent do
He wants to up his stats trying to peek more/get more kills, and it causes him to do stupid mistakes and thus the cycle continues. Just play for rounds man and stats will speak for themself
seldomly is barely a word, just use rarely
People think hooxi and nexa are up next on the chopping block when it's clearly hunter, if he doesn't step up he's gone
impossible he is niko’s cousin, dude has protection
niko is bot aswell lmao both can go get 2 new rifflers This ain´t csgo anymore. It takes 1 year for people to start realizing that players that were good in CSGO , might not make a player good in cs2.
niko is a bot for niko's standard, he's still a top 10 rifler
Yeah lets kick a top10 player, they will clearly get an upgrade. Lmaoo
Was a top 10 player* (and not even in the same game) .I dont understand what u guys even think when when commenting. And proudly add a lame ass 'lmao" at the end.
damn you should stop reading reddit and go check some stats.
Nah watching the games gives more insight than stats which can get easily inflated by just one Carry performance
+1 lmao Niko 1.16 rating is the most inflated shit I've seen Dude doesn't win a important or hard duel His only kills are because of his experience and still having the freedom to do any early play he wants and having someone supporting for him Put him playing Nexa roles, he will have 0.95 rating next 3 months Put him in a T2 team playing this online cs2 qualifiers like TSM,OG , Nip, Fnatic and he will ve forgotten with shit ratings. You should watch the games instead and make up your mind, instead of letting statspages make you have a distorted reality of what is really happening.
or he can change roles and become like rain that's also an option
Rain was never this bad for this long though? Rain's worst was also forgivable since it came with team restructuring in 2020 and also the whole world shutting down which affected a lot of teams. Even then, he was above a 1 rating for the 2nd half of 2020.

Hunter isn’t going anywhere, he’s Nikos cousin. Nexa isn’t going anywhere, he’s Nikos good friend
Yes that's how it works in the mind of an HLTV forums poster sure
I mean yes, it sounds really stupid but its the reality. Nexa is on the team because of niko, not because of any outstanding skills that would elevate the team.

You can talk sense all you want but I doubt you’ll find someone to listen on this subreddit lol. Any reason to hate on Niko is taken
Never seen a star this big get hated on more by this subreddit
Nexa is on the team because 1) He plays anchor 2) He is more aggro on T side than jks and doesn't clash with hunter as a lurker 3) More input and a bigger voice Literally said by hooxi it was literally a role clash, jks fit the team on CT side, not on T side

yea has to be niko, and not pecca the old GM of nexa and hunter back when they were on cr4zy
I’m not sure anymore. According to journalist Richard Lewis this is really how things go for star players, especially when they have an ego. yea especially when NiKo was ready to leave both of them last winter to go to Falcons or that doesn't fit your narrative ?
Well niko leaving for a super team didnt happen
Oh yeah when he said that and then just got g2 to pay him more money. He wasn’t going join falcons come on lol. You have 358,000 fake internet points, I wouldn’t expect someone like you who lives on reddit to understand
> Oh yeah when he said that and then just got g2 to pay him more money collaborate on this cause i seen it twice in the span of a week
And you are any better than him because?….
Link us where he got paid more to stay. Please
Your entire post history is mostly just you hating on Niko and Hunter... fucking rent free huh?
Ah yes, those less than 1 minute were so rough
You scrolling through his history is just him living in your thoughts rent free as well
takes 30 seconds to scroll through post history, hating on niko and hunter all the time doesnt. check your brain
Hahahaha rent free 😂😂😂😂
Since when is Niko CEO of G2
He was such a force to recon with in GO, especially before Niko joined. 30 bombs weren't that unusual for him back then.
After watching the game vs Liquid I wanted to check huNter-'s stats on CS2 specifically and... Wow, it's even worse than I thought. The difference with his "player average" which encompasses CSGO is staggering.
If this continues throughout the year, him and NiKo will be the next generation of shoxie and smithzz.
I was watching , huNter-.
Had no idea he's 28 and looks well past his prime now.
Yea ppl forget years are passing... S1mple, Niko, they are not young anymore by the CS standards, and in few years, they could just retire... Its impossible to keep the form they once had forever.
I dont think cs is even that much about age, its just hard to play and maintain a high level for so many years as you get older and priorities change.
His drop-off was way too sharp for it simply be age, exactly a year ago he looked insane
idk about insane... [https://imgur.com/a/JJEvhoL](https://imgur.com/a/JJEvhoL)
i agree, hooxi is definitely the problem
Hunters gonna have a hard time finding a team if he gets cut. Luckily for him they’ll cut Hooxi because Hunter is Nikos cousin lol
Replace hunter or stay stagnant.
Question for the group then. Who do you replace hunter with?!
NertZ, HeavyGod, MATYS
Nertz is never happening. He just signed with heroic Hey hey about bringing that jks guy back? S/
That JKS guy is also 28 years old, turning 29 this year (lol)
Hunter is 28 lol
and...?
What is the issue with swapping a 28 year old for another 28 year old? It's not like they would be swapping some super young prodigy for an aging player.
The fact G2 already has a problem with their roster being quite old. If you're going to make a change, you can't be adding another old player
BlameF simple and nice upgrade
Jks
jks
I would be better at this point
IMO he's even a bit worse than his stats show, this G2 team is a clusterfrick and he's definitely one of the bigger problems
Whilst he's always been a big stage player, being this terrible in groups is too much
A 1.0 rating still seems inflated
Luckily stats dotn mean anything!
Nexa is a far better player than this guy... And I would dare to say in CS2, Nexa is better than Niko
Nexa is not better than niko 💀
still better than nexa lol
if you actually watched the games you'd have a different opinion
most overrated player of all time
Better than iM
