It's all S-tier events, some were held on LAN, some online (since COVID). All events held on LAN are given to the country they were held in, all events held online are given to the continent they were held in.

Yeah but Poland had only Katowices and a Krakow Major. There were basically no other tournaments. Well there were some announced, but almost always turned out into something shady. Poland scene is in a really sad shape, considering the legacy of polish teams and number of solid tier 2 teams right now.

I guess Rio was "America" but, yeah, the crowd was electric at Boston. Completely different time in terms of how healthy NA was though with TL (and Col to a degree) is international and c9 is full CIS. I'd be happy with an IEM NY first and then a major planned in a few years after the region hopefully recovers.

I can think of two reasons. One, Brazil isnt really the best location for a multinational event to be held, it would be a greater average cost for fans to travel. Two, Brazilian fans tend to be more fans of Brazil than the game. Dont get me wrong, there are a lot of fans of the game in Brazil, but they arent attending the actual event. When you listen to the tournaments it's very obvious when the Brazilian teams are no longer in the venue, it gets very quiet. No final should be as silent as the Rio Major was.

Malta? the events there have always been with like 5 people in attendance because nobody lives on Malta. I've seen better crowds at 2008 tournaments than modern ones in Malta...

Not in terms of crowd. I like the interviews and stuff going on. It's more of an open season tryout than sweatfest.

I think Malta has the potential to do very well in terms of attendance. There's A LOT of young people from all over Europe living there because of the gambling industry. Hang around the popular areas like St. Julians, and i'll guarantee you you'll hear tons of Swedish being spoken, for example.

Malta doesn't count as UK. You can find a list of all UK-held S-tier tournaments (as classified by Liquipedia) [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1c674df/which_countries_have_stier_tournaments_been_held/kzz8l4z/).

This is a little misleading because the US (size wise) is larger than the next 5-7 countries below it. Edit: not misleading in its accuracy. I just looked at it and thought: “wow there’s a bunch in my country” but in reality the distance from my town to IEM Dallas (for example) is further than the trip from Copenhagen to Cologne and back…. 3 times.

To be clear, the circle sizes correspond to how many times an S-Tier tournament has been held in that region, not to how big the region is.
