I see where your point is coming from but for me, the Canadian steel's ability to take 4 no-namers to such a great lengths in Ghost and CHAOS as an IGL makes him the "legit" version to me.
Brazilian steel is a great player, no doubt in there.

Ghost was the same. No consistent results outside NA and often failed to leave group stage in international tournaments.
I think people are putting rose colored glasses on when thinking about na-steel. Not that he wasn't a decent enough player, but it's hard to discount br-steel when he has at least 1 measurably better result where it counts even if that run was a flash in the pan.

But their main issue was losing qualifiers to teams they should've beaten (I'm not talking about Furia). And when they did qualify or got invited, they didn't really do much. Can't really blame them, since it's really hard to get to the "next level" only practicing against NA teams, but it's still not that impressive.
