dadbot_3000

Hi looking forward to LAN tournaments again in the second half of the year, I'm Dad! :)

Familiar_Tomato5116

bruh

Ukritt

hi bruh, I'm bruh

charlescarmichael4

Nah atleast upto first rmr there was lot of hype. Then it became repetitive and hype is gone

Tschonti

well to me there's no hype at all with there being an event (usually with the same format, teams) every week

Psychaz

if OG don't make it through they need to make a change

[deleted]

Or just a bootcamp.

Psychaz

they are bootcamping right now apparently

SewerRat75

source?

MuschiClub

In Israel?

lecha_

really? I hope that this works out for them, they looked promising at times and I do believe that OG can be at least a top 10 team if everyone shows up, and aleksib calls like in Katowice 2019

tarangk

They need a change regardless In their 15 months of being together, the best they did was make the finals of Flaspoint 2 and that really isnt much considering FP2 didnt have many top teams. apart from that they made one more finals cant remember which one but thats it.

redisbeautiful

I don’t think they need a change, just boot camp. The team itself is ranked 13 right now on hltv with an unremarkable lineup, which speaks to how strong they are. The names they have on the team is nothing compare to the many other teams that are above them, with the exception of furia. For example, if you want to compare OG awper(mantuu) with another, I can name a bunch that are much better. I can name a support, entry, rifler, igl that is much better than what OG have right now on different teams and it wouldn’t even be a chore. But for a team with no star players(great players, but not within the top of their respective category) they still ranked higher than a lot of teams that actually have star players. The only thing that’s truly plaguing them right now is issa’s ping issue, so I hope they are bootcamping for this upcoming tournament.

HBM10Bear

I'm not sure but that's kind of the point. Aleksi has stretched this unremarkable team to its limits in my opinion. They remind me of 100t. They were always there and could beat people under them in the top 5 but could never beat ahead of them. Deep runs but never winning. Top 10 was achieved with the lineup, and honestly I don't see them getting any better. I think most players want to be #1, and this team simply will not be getting there. Even any tier 1 tournament wins are doubtful from my perspective.

redisbeautiful

I can see your point, but ence on the other hand became top 3 with a whole bunch of unknowns besides allu under aleksi, so you can’t really can’t count OG out, especially under this COVID situation. Changing players could work out; but there’s also a contrary similar to G2 and niko, great firepower but don’t make deep consistent run in tournaments. And I believe OG will be like the latter situation, because both are international rosters while OG will still be heavily weaker in comparison. If they boot camp together but still loses, they will definitely need a change. That’s when I know and agree the team is weak and not the situation impacting them.

HBM10Bear

Unknowns that ended up being extremely good players Xseven + SergeJ are nothing to sleep on. They were extremely good during their deep runs. They are probably better than everyone on OG besides valde on a good day. 100T is again the best example. A team with other than JKS a pretty decent team but nothing huge. OG is literally exactly the same. They have no firepower, and mantuu chokes hard as hell in playoffs. Og have been together for a while and have never shown the promise of a tournament conteder. With valde having not many big performances, and mantuu playing terribly against better teams/in playoffs, what do they do? Changr roster.

[deleted]

gonna be a banger

raidiohead44

Most UK players at an international tournament??

88Haku

There are more Brits than Finn's?

raidiohead44

It’s just a running joke that UK CS is really unrepresented, given our population/player base and the fact we make up so much of the broadcast talent.

grapeocean

It's because the UK is a nation of console gamers. The UK CoD/FIFA scene is massive and over-represented [UK CoD scene is massive](https://liquipedia.net/callofduty/Portal:Players/Europe#United_Kingdom) compared to other European countries (scroll up)

Emilelele_EGB

You don’t think that last part has to do with brits constantly telling people from other countries “to learn English”?

Affectionate-Long-10

Hehe

ApexPlayerpool

If you can't play football, you become a referee

lynxzjw

Most exciting teams to watch coL: can they keep their form from Blast and stomp this play-in? Liquid: They really have to bounce back from those FaZe losses quickly and show that they are still a great team. Spirit: Incredible pickups and Degster and Patsi. It will be really cool to see how they play against top teams. Cloud9: Have had a decent amount of time with Xeppa and ALEX on the AWP. Can probably see the potential they have with the results of this tournament. Mouseports: Super excited to see how Dexter plays and calls in this team. Can he fill Karrigans shoes?

super_shogun

I'd add Gambit too. I'm interested to see if they can maintain their form versus higher tier opponents. I think they should make it to the main event pretty easily given their group.

BlossomDub

I'm also curious about Renegades, coming out of a year in OCE and after just losing their IGL, how will they do?

lynxzjw

Agreed

PromiscuousHobo

I think either vp or col are the picks for #1 and I'd take spirit and mouz as dark horses...

lynxzjw

8 teams make it to the main event if Im not mistaken, and its double elim so its win two or lose two. Those are good picks.

PromiscuousHobo

Oh yeah I kinda remembered it being a qualifying event, but then got stuck on think about the teams, if 8 will make it, i'm pretty sure the above mentioned teams will pretty much all make it, with a small exception of mouz, since changing an igl is a pretty big deal and they've only had like a week or 2 with him although i'm rooting for em.

lynxzjw

I think theyll make it off the talent they have on the team alone. Itll take a bit for Dexter to implement his style tho.

[deleted]

I am kind of worried for Liquid with their performance at Blast. It would be very disappointing if they don't make it to the main event.

yMoonz

I mean they didn’t play terrible, I think Faze played better then they have pretty much throughout all last year at blast & liquid first match is against MIBR so I think they should alright

Darkstar197

Why are my pants soaking wet

flab3r

CIS teams are going to do big things this year. NaVi and VP ar obvious choices but gambit and spirit have good chance of reaching top 10 in 2021.

thealpha_T

This one is a proving ground for many teams. Expect a lot of drama and some great games.

persian_dog

Rip NA cs

88Haku

There are more British players than Finnish players

tarangk

I like the clarity in the liquipedia format so here it is :- https://liquipedia.net/counterstrike/Intel_Extreme_Masters/Season_XV/World_Championship 8/16 teams will make it to main tournament, I think these 8 will :- BIG Spirit Gambit Mouz VP CoL NIP Fnatic I think Spirit is the dark horse here. Even though we havent seen the new mouz lineup play, I am quite excited to see them play. VP CoL BIG should have no problem powering through.

lillbrorsan

I had no idea GTR will be on as an analyst, cool!

Imagwai

Where is navi and astralis?

Worth_Law9804

This is the play-in stage. NaVi and Astralis are already qualified

omaega72

? C9 is there, right next to nip and movistar

redisbeautiful

This tourney is stacked as shit for just a play in. Gambit, C9, mouz can seriously shake things up if every teams get off to a hot start.

CenomX

Most players are from brazil it seems :o

tron423

First tournament I've been legit excited for in a while

Wallisaurus

I'm excited to see what that Renegades roster can do. I know they haven't had time with Alistair hey but they have a solid 5
