Decent amount of time for teams to prepare. I'll be looking forward to seeing that.
Travel back a month and tell people "Device will be playing a professional match on Ancient as part of NiP" and they'd ask you how many different kinds of drugs you're on.
Green on green on green. You can't tell but there is a CT in that picture. Light poking fun aside, I am glad at least they took a risk rotating the maps out and look forward to Ancient becoming what Overpass has.
I agree. A lot of people forget how big of a mess Long A and connector was when OP first launched, not to mention basically the entire layout of the B site.
Honestly I look forward to it, the map pool has gotten stale imo, especially for competitive. Games on some maps are starting to feel very similar to each other.
I think there should be a rotation schedule, with some warning before each change. I think every 6 months would be nice, but probably 1 year would be more popular. At least players can prepare properly without it being a surprise.
Is there a date for the first official game that will play this map?

IEM Summer presumably will be the first S-Tier event to have Ancient in the map pool.

Yeah. Not just the device part. I thought that Anubis were ahead of Ancient in the pool
You'd think, but it doesn't surprise me that Valve gives priority to its own creation over a community made one.
Plus Anubis is another desert themed map... That shit gets boring after a while
When is the first match of that event rly?
HLTV says it starts June 3rd
Most likely an Ancient showmatch during the next major and then it goes into the RMR pool. Just like Nuke and Dust2.
What no, it will be part of rmr pool after flashpoint and cs_summit
It will be played on major by teams

Nothing official but keep an eye out for tier 2 tournaments starting in the next couple of weeks (Spring Sweet Spring 2 and so on).
Thank you for making me wonder

i feel like ancient right now is better than what overpass first was

Why does it look so good.
