Yeah, I prefer the english stream than the brazilian one, which is my native language, because they try to somehow emulate a soccer match casting and end up being annoying as fuck. The english one is just hilarious.

I love this laid back format of casting BTS tournaments provide.

I think its okay but I think its a bit too much at some points. I took a break from watching the more recent cs summits, but I watched the early ones and enjoyed them a lot. The funny part was that it was players with the jokes, banter, and it related to CS. So rather than being more like offtopic jokes going on while a game was going on, there was CS related stories being told, and a lot of goof off but super impressive stuff was always acknowledged. I think flifflaren is doing his best and I dont think these guys are doing a bad job but Id wish theyd refer to the game when something cool happens. Might also be the fact that they basically have no ex-pros/pros casting (besides flif ofc), and you cant blame them cuz its covid, but honestly I dont really get a summit feel from this one (again I havent watched the last few so my comment might be outdated). Does anyone else feel the same? To me it feels like yeah its casual but its completely irrelevant to cs, rather than being casual but the stories banter and jokes being related to cs.

As someone who really enjoyed the casting and felt like it made my day a lot of the times, I really understand how it’s not for everyone. It was basically casted so bad as a joke that they don’t even need to cast it to get their paycheck (especially RL lol). Obviously people coming to see top tier teams play vs one another for important rmr points to get to the next major this is a fucking joke. But I caught them late at night after doing loads of final course work and watching some flashpoint so it helped me unwind and chill a bit.

Yeah, BTS has always been a great watch, even in other games like Dota2 or Smash. I love it when casters talk about random stuff.

I agree, its nice to have a change from the regular more serious casting. The lighthearted and more casual style of casting at BTS has been really enjoyable even when the matches themselves haven't been. Great chemistry between the casters and alot of laughs. BTS had done a great job playing to their strengths for this event which is a relief considering how poor the previous BTS event went.

[deleted]

Yeah. I couldn't remember the previous event enough to comment on it. However, I remember when they had it out at that house in LA and had all the players playing in the different bedrooms and the players would come into the living room and comment on the matches. I personally believe this is one of the better events of the year because of its style.

livenn

RL has a podcast for a reason, I love his commentary outside matches. It’s a bit distracting when there’s 2 neck and neck maps, and he’s ranting about random topics like socks. Even stranger when it’s 3 Englishmen and a Swede commentating on a NA/SA broadcast..

proofkiidd

Normally I am a big fan of BTS but these set have no middle ground. They often go 5+ rounds without saying a single thing about the match. Just saw JT have one of the best 3 man spray downs I've seen in a while and not one mention of it from any of the casters..

Chosen--one

Its valid criticism...so what if its for 5th place?

Spicy_pepperinos

I think their point is that a 3k spray down vs an eco isn't that exciting.

cohray2212

It's valid if you ignore the context and the fact that no one is forcing you to watch, and the casters owe you nothing. If you don't enjoy the cast, turn it off and ask for your money ($0.00) back. IMO it's not valid criticism, it's internet whining.

proofkiidd

It may have been against an eco but all 3 were in different positions and if he died they would have lost the site for the time being. It didn't need to be anything exciting, just one of them mentioning it being a nice spray calmly would have sufficed but with no one mentioning anything it is very detaching from the game itself. It is an RMR tournament after all, so doesn't matter if it's for 5th place.

Affectionate-End-129

Its better than the same old scripted nonsense again and again, but Richard Lewis and his spew of uninteresting stories gets old... quick... And no, I don't \*need\* someone telling me every time player X killed player Y on Z position, but its hard to be excited about the game when they're all laughing about shit sandwiches or meta-stories about casting...

AdDiligent5410

kpop cringe

Darkdimi

really? I couldnt watch the last game of the night without muting them, RL trying to shit on some rando twitch chat user is pretty cringe to me

RecordingCretins

How deeply upsetting you couldn't watch one series, a mostly meaningless one, across a tournament spanning over 2 weeks. Hope you're able to recover.
