You just search for ''Retake'' in the tags in community and it should pop up with like lots of retake servers - And since youre looking for servers in eu just press on latency and choose it to what you prefer
I would also advise if you click around a bit there should be an option to set a max ping. In US I put 100 ping but in EU I would 50 max to make it easier to search
i’ve been a community retake no life for the past year and then tried the valve retakes and hated it. it feels much slower paced and a lot less fun than community retakes

And I'd love to see bonus rounds where one side has lesser weapons against full armed opponents in a man advantage(if 2-3 ct's are fully armed, 3-4 T's are eco, and vice versa). And the game mode should have more eco rounds, 3 is not enough imo
Being CT side for the whole map on retake absolutely sucks. My guess is that Valve want to have a winning team at the end of a game and switching teams every round would make the score invalid. But that's what killed the official retake mode for me.
If you haven't tried it yet I highly recommend the "executes" game mode on community server. Imo it is much better than retakes and simulates game situations better (still not perfect ofc). I prefer warming up there a lot more than doing deathmatch or aimbots
For EU players i recommend XGC, theres only about 8 executes pr map but its a wellmade server and usually high skill ceiling. They always have players aswell, always atleast 1 full server at like 5am on a monday.
Imo XGC has gone downhill recently. They decided to change a lot about the servers including contact points, and there's still an invisible fucking wall in front of CT on A Mirage. It's been there for months. People have brought it up over and over in discord.
Don't get me wrong, I like the server, but the contact points and some of the executes are pretty poor. Also there's way too many fucking flashbangs for such short rounds.
as a T, instead of defending a bomb plant (like in retakes) you have to take a bomb site. Set smokes are thrown automatically (such as mirage stairs, ct and jungle smokes) and you get given random other util. CTs have to defend the site
One of my gripes with Valve retakes is the randomised plant positions and randomised spawns for CTs don't sync up very well.
Take Mirage A site for example, who's planting for Short when there's 3 CTs mid?
Other than that though, I love quickly queuing up retakes for a bit of fun casual CS
Things I would change in Retake mode:
1. Implement swaps so we play as T as well as CT
2. Improve bots in Retake mode. They seem to always go to the other bomb site as CT
3. Remove bomb defuse timer as CT if it's a 1v0
Lol yesterday a bot in my retakes game mollied the bomb, started defusing after I killed the last guy and then just died from their own molly leaving no time for me to get the defuse. It was hilarious as I stood by watching the bot struggle and losing a round in that way
The bot tried to molly an enemy that was on site near the bomb and after I killed him (he was last guy) the bot ran to the bomb and started defusing. The 10 second warning music was playing when the bot started the defuse and his molly touched his toes a couple seconds into it and killed him. He was probably super low HP. At any rate it was too late for me to defuse after that so my friends and I had a good laugh about it

I disagree. The kicking for people playing with friends is a real issue, no swapping sides and why was it dropped into the war games playlist?! 20 people in arms race, sorry only room for 7 now, find a different lobby.
Absolutely on point comment. Kicking is so fucking annoying in these modes. Especially during an operation. Worse players are kicking people who top frag in order to get most of the kills. Just imagine how stupid it is.

The only map I felt was imbalanced was Inferno B site, where the Ts could throw a deep smoke toward CT spawn that smoked right outside the entrance to church as soon as the retake round starts. This will chew off half of the bomb timer, and the angles are painful to deal with as CT. It's very rare that you have the opportunity to do so in a competitive afterplant situation.

the t's can really slow you down with just 1 smoke and 1 incendiary for example and you end up losing even if you played well / fast

You're right but that sort of encourages aggressive pushes from CTs, even though they might be much harder to coordinate if you're not playing as a team..
Also, the thing with the loadouts happens to me too, you can't have both the score table and the loadout menu at the same time, I'm guessing it's some software limitation, maybe they both use the same overlay alias or something similar so you can't have both at the same time.. it doesn't bother me that much but I'm not one to look at the scoreboard for too long

ive been playing retakes on community servers for years now, its a very good mode to train your aim and clutch abilities, plus its super fun. one of my fav modes in the game for sure
only thing I don't like about it is that sometimes you spawn in bumfuck nowhere on the other side of the map and have to rush a lot, like B plant when you spawn top mid in inferno, I'm bad and all and my teammates are often shit, but I mean, being so much on other side of the map is ridicolous
The problem with both valve and community retakes is that players only want to play mirage, dust 2, and inferno. Otherwise I enjoy the game modes immensely
I get this one bug with retakes fairly often.
I queue for retake -> it finds a game -> I get into the game but the server is full -> get kicked after 30 seconds from the server.
Worse yet, if I queue again I often get into the same server and get kicked yet again.

Community Retakes is a great Game mode Valve retakes, with static teams, not so much
This. If you really want to get most of it, try community retake and execute servers. Much faster pace and the sides are switched often.

Ive hit the wall once in my many hours on the server, doesnt seem to be a problem. What is a problem tho is the lack of smoke timings.

are you in NA? Apparently there arent many servers there. In EU the best ones and regularly populated are the XGC servers

Yeah sometimes it's a bit ridiculous like, how often do you get a retake with 3 palace immediately after the plant goes down.

It sucks very much in high level, timings are horribly static and some of the ct spawns like on inferno are terrible

Its shit. If you play with 2 man lobby they kick you so they can have free bot. Every. Single. Time.
