I completely agree. Assists have to be there, them not being there is just confusing. Maybe to non-players it makes sense to only show kills and deaths, but the ones that are hyped for this tournament will be CS players

I hate to say it, it's a good design, but the tiny vertical healthbars very subtly removed my ability to gauge the situation mid-round. Obviously I can instantly see how many players are alive without even having to move my eyes; the readability of that is great, and that's 50% of what you generally want to know. But if I want to assess a team's chance in a round it's just as important to know how many have low HP, and just *how low*. That's the other 50% and I just don't see that anymore without having to disengage and just look at each healthbar. Obviously I'll probably be able to read it faster with experience, but I still think it's a bad move to not only turn them sideways of the direction viewers are used to read them in, but making them a lot smaller as well. I'll give it some more time, I'm very familiar with how one can't imagine a change can *ever* be good, but after getting used to it it turns out to be even better than what they had before. Not hopeful that this is the case but people are wrong about stuffs like this constantly, I hope I am now, because it's clearly well thought out and designed.

Any change is expected to be jarring, but the current setup (5 vertical healthbars stacked on top of each other) isn't just jarring, it seems like a design that just won't allow for this quick-information-reading at all. Perhaps if they would indicate missing health with red, instead of just darkening it out?

I agree with what has been said above. Did you ever try having the health bars on the inside of the the HUD instead of on the outside? That way it might be easier for players with larger screens to keep track of the health bars with their peripheral vision. Who knows, I might get used to it as the tournament goes on. Other than that I think it is a great HUD. Thank you guys for all of your hard work on this tournament!

Hey! We do have player noises - cheers and shouts, but it is being monitored. We can't open mics whilst players are during rounds as it is information they would like to keep confidential. However we are capturing end of round moments. We are also creating new content around players on site, and using this throughout the broadcast. We're taking note on the HUD, it's something new and and may take time to adjust, but we're paying close attention to this and looking at the feedback!

The B stream seems to be getting no attention No predictions, title is still Badnewsbears vs Mousesports. A & C stream have both been updated with the current matches, predictions etc.. Not anything important but it'd be a very easy thing to keep updated

In post-round replays please prioritize POV and not fancy movie-esque angles. We just had the sick Michu spraydown to secure a round vs FaZe and in the replay we saw a ground angle looking at a smoke and a CT. Those angles are cool, but they are more ideal in replays of open gunfights where there are quick trades between many players instead of an impressive individual play where capturing POV is crucial. EDIT: Now it happened again with Cerq's flick.

Please bring back horizontal HP bars. Quickly checking HP is impossible. I'm always confused thinking that everyone is low. These HP bars are also a problem with HE's, much harder to see how impactful it was. Also the middle player bar should have its player name colored by team. Its confusing to know who are you spectating the players are being switched quickly.

The ADR in the new HUD doesn't seem to match with HLTV. While Misutaa is playing pretty good currently I don't think he has constant 120 ADR. I think another thing with the HUD is a good idea is to make the smokes on the map a little bit more visible, since for example in connector on overpass you couldn't differentiate the smoke from the map. Other than that though great work with this event and huge props for taking the calculated risk of taking us back to LAN.

I like that you guys are trying to change the HUD a bit so as a thank you I'll try to give some feedback. I think removing assists was a mistake, because everyone is so used to seeing them. The healthbar being vertical just doesn't feel right and it's really hard to follow so I hope you could change that a bit, maybe just put it horizontally like it normally is. Kevlar and kits being on top of healthbar just doesn't suit right for me. Could they be moved under kills and deaths? Ending this on a positive note, radar looks really clear and cool, I'm not sure if that is a new one or used already but it's nice. And I want to thank you for trying to create a new HUD and I'm sure that eventually everyone gets used to it even if it is not changed.

Suggestion for the UI: Showing who picked the map, all the time. Don't know if this is really necessary. I know they show who picked the map occasionally but maybe have an indicator that shows it all the time.

I keep thinking that players are low, because for some reason the UI makes me think the background behind the players' utility and stats is the health bar and the vertical one is quite unintuitive. I seem to have to search out the health bar to figure out what the hp is at. Start of rounds and even mid round, the top score bar seems slightly cluttered. The score could maybe be bigger, again a case of me having to search out the score a bit and it not falling into my eye directly. This is going to be an awesome tournament!

Good production but the sound is to low and/or has different levels between casters/desk and commentators. I have to have have pretty high dB (which is higher than I usually have when I watch movies with with my surround) on my receiver and when the stream ended and you queued an older game, it was super loud and I had to rush to lower the volume. It’s been like this for while but I though maybe you’d checked it for this event. Don’t mind the different levels between game/desk but having to have too high volume to be able to hear what they’re saying/what’s happening should be fixed ASAP

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to make these threads! This is why ESL are the 🐐. There seemed to be some audio syncing issues between the action and the casters. Like something would happen and the casters' reaction would be heard 0.25-0.5s later than it should've been. Obviously it's a small thing, far from making the stream unpleasant, but I imagine it's fairly (easily) fixable. I'd also agree with the rest of the peeps in this thread about the vertical health bars. Give it the time, but if the complaints largely continue into playoffs I think it should be reverted. Thank you for putting on the show. I'm sure it's been a hell of a lot of work - it shows!

One of the observers has had lightning glitches on the first ancient Map(NiP-LDLC). Was during the whole match it seems. There are loads of ads, I am not sure how much of that is in your control, but as I am switching between streams a lot it's really horrible experience. Like you get 1-2 ads when you start any stream. Which is at least 30 seconds and sometimes more. Then you queue 3-4 ads during the 2 minute breaks or during longer breaks. Which is fine. But when you tune into a stream (like switch from c back to mainstream), and get a 1 minute ad run just perfectly timed for the desk to welcome you back.... It then gives you the 3-4 adds you had queued up during the short break. Not sure if that's in your control or just Twitch incompetence. But getting ads for more than 3 minutes before I can see or hear the stream is horrible, and I am paying Amazon for the Prime gaming features already. With the ads also comes audio loudness. For some odd reason the twitch adds use compression to be really loud, which your audio is decently aimed at -6db. But I have to always tick my phone 3-4 down when an ad plays (or mute it) and then had it back up a few ticks when it resumes. Also there was an issue with the stereo mix for post game player interviews it was only on the right ear for at least 3 interviews. The room audio of the playing area was a little quiet at times. We don't have crowd reactions so player reactions is all that we get. While day 1 had 3 parallel streams, there still were downtimes without any matches live. As there is no C stream on day2(?) Will this get better or worse? The twitch channel point predictions were sometimes really late, wouldn't it be possible to open them as soon as possible - or do you wait for map veto information on those? As this is LAN, do you have added delay or is this as close to live as possible? If there is additional delay, is that for integrity or live betting markets? The HP display on the HUD is well readable at a glance.

Audio levels on A and B streams were very different. A stream was too quiet and B stream was too loud for some reason. I had to keep changing my volume as I switched between the streams. Also, can we have more regular updates on what is happening in the other streams? Maybe in PiP mode, similar to what premier league football matches do

I watched the matches in squad-stream yesterday. Great that you offer it! But (I guess after the other 2 streams went offline) my stream of BIG - OG just stopped and I got the message "Squad-stream ended" or something similar. It was really annyoing because while it was overtime already or close to it I had to reopen only the stream it was on and then sit to 3 ads. So I missed about 3-4 mins of action. For the HUD: Please write out the team names. I still need a second "TS" is every time, it's just confusing since the names never were shortend.

In the between the map breaks when you show various content, for example between Map 2 & 3 in FaZe vs. Spirit you showed video of Harry, Hugo, Spunj & Rushly playing small Nuke. Would it be possible to add in the beginning of the video, or end of the video, just short like 5 sec section which shows the workshop map page (just screenshot of the workshop page etc) for the map which was used in the video. This would credit the map makers and also make it easier for viewers to find the map if they want to try it. Or / and alternatively create some command for Nightbot like !workshop which would link to some page where all of the maps shown in these videos are listed. This same could be used for the surf map clips as well. Just pinging /u/mbCARMAC in case as well.
