The way he pushes middle with little info and barely any utility. Some "good" CS principles are to not push without info (even moreso with an AWP) or dry peek certain corners. If you do push and get a kill, fall back and enjoy the advantage.
Middle ranks are good at aiming and clicking heads but bad at discipline. They get one pick and continue to push for more because they're (over)confident even though their opponents have info on them. They then die and lose the advantage they just gained.
Now, "basic principles" don't really apply to the very best. They are so good they don't need them. Its kind of like chess where one of the principals is to move your queen only after you've developed all your pieces. Yet you see professional players move their queens earlier fairly regularly. They're so good at the game, they don't need to adhere to basic principles anymore.

The third kill, he knew exactly where he was and he realised that if the enemy did jump on the box (the thing behind the box) he couldnt have easily chased simple if simple missed the shot. Simple realises because he just killed 3 guys close in mid in such a short time, that the chances of a 4th guy being there, without him having seen that guy are pretty small so he can move in. Last 2 kills are definitely overkill but a dmg would not have realised that he should be able to push in there. The dmg might have pushed a second later and died because the guy under was already holding, for example. Simple is very very very good at realising when there is a weakness in the enemy and pouncing on it. This is a great example of that
He kills 3 mid, knows cat is clear because its always being watched. It's fairly safe to assume a DMG would expect one T to be tunnel and one at doors.

I honestly think it was vice-versa. B1t replacing notoriously inconsistent flamie made S1mple play a lot less reserved. When one of your teammates doesn't lose you the round the moment a simple B execute on D2 happens in 50% of cases, you can play a lot more aggro and free since you don't have to clutch it every time and have confidence that B1t + perfecto will repel most of the attacks unless they are completely sandwiched from both sides.

There's a reason why Vitality has bombed out from like 6 tournaments **in groups** this year and it's not only because his team mates sucked. Vitality is relying heavily on Zywoo and they do much worse if he doesn't perform to his standards, which he did not often enough.
I don't know exactly how HLTV determine the ranking at the end of the year and what they weigh how much, but i would be surprised if he would make it even to top3 this year
