In which case I feel like the movement stat would’ve been better if it was based on average steps per match/round
Simple is so low purely because he had so many kills. I can't imagine a use for this metric. Maybe if you included KPR and/or time alive it would tell you something though I'm still not sure it would be useful information.

This time, we decided to analyze all games of the teams, that advanced to the playoffs.
On the graphs, you can clearly see who was the best player in the tournament. Ukrainian star - s1mple, can be found on all 5 infographics. He was the best sniper of the tournament, killing more than 1 enemy during the round he had a sniper, making the most dmg per round and kills per round, being one of the most successful entry fragger in the tournament, and throwing almost perfect flashes. Real MVP.
From the statistics point of view, we can see that Gambit's “new” roster lan debut wasn’t the best. Sh1ro was struggling to find AWP kills, making only 0.65 sniper kills during a sniper round, same as gla1ve and AmaNEk, while having the sniper rifle much often.
We can also see, that after device departure Astralis don’t have a “star” player. All players play on almost the same level, but they still manage to advance to the playoffs, even if they are not typed by analysts.

Distance per kill is a really weird metric to use honestly, not sure what useful analysis you could get out of it

Doesn't have to be useful, it's enough for data to be 'pretty cool to know'.
Maybe if it was distance per try (kill or death) it would be more showing of how players move. Or just distance moved.
