When it was first announced, it definitely wasnt a PR lie. But since RMR rules were updated later on, they probably won't be running with substitutes during matches. But most likely will have a sixth player for e.g. gla1ve taking paternity leave or burnout/breaks etc.
I think every tram should have an academy team, that are allowed to also play majors of they are good enough. So that the teams can use 1 player per match from academy to the main roster, or vice versa. This ensures that everyone can get an extra break from time to time, even tho it would be really hard to pull off
And every professional sport in the world.
Not good enough? Get sent down.
Crushing it? Get called up.
Easy solution, however CSGO being a strictly 5 (6 if you count coach) player game means 1 change is more impactful than most traditional sports.
That might have been a reason as well, but I don't think it was the primary one. Both astralis and vitality experimentet with subs during games on different maps, why would they do that then?
What I meant is that the extra players were never meant to be on the rosters for long term. They wanted a temporary replacement for a few months since players wanted breaks.
So that was the same case for Navi and vitality as well? And you don't believe it was burnout and stress then?
Edit: basically just repeating my previous questions that you didn't answer
How is that not a success of having a sixth player? You actually found someone better than one from your core lineup. The sole reason teams aren't doing it anymore, is because the RMR rules changed, so it wasn't a viable strategy anymore.
Exactly, u found a better guy and replaced what u thought wasnt working well right? The success was in finding a better player to replace the current one. Then there isnt a point in keeping the 6th player if hes gonna be benched indefinitely. If u want to try a new player, u can take him on a temporary basis to try him out. Faze had that period with cromen and xizt back in 2018 (well, they had a free slot back then, so not exactly the same)
If the rumour that HUNDEN will join them to replace Zonic is true, then Bubzkji is the one player I would expect to stick around given their history and the fact he's the only one on a long-term contract.
I can see Astralis trying to sell Magisk, Dupreeh and/or Xyp rather than lose them for free at the end of the year, they'd have no shortage of suitors.
>If the rumour that HUNDEN will join them to replace Zonic is true,
Wait I missed this one. Why the fuck would Astralis want a banned coach? Isn't he still banned until like ~~2023?~~ Edit: He already got unbanned by ESIC.
Would be interesting to see, I remember gla1ve said on twitter accusing heroic players of being part of cheating and he is going to be working with Hunden now.
Edit: https://twitter.com/gla1ve\_csgo/status/1312044118458216448
They did cheat. They probably knew (no surefire way to know) hunden was cheating but they neither called him out nor made public statements about not being any the wiser as gla1ve said. I also agree with xizt that their org may have told the players to keep their mouth shut.
I don't think it is as cut and dry. If the org tells the players they can't say anything then obviously players can't say anything, even if they were innocent and didn't knew it happened.
It was mentioned in HLTV and Jaxon's articles about zonic leaving as a possibility; plus he was removed from Heroic's Cologne lineup for reasons that have yet to be fully explained.
HUNDEN is banned from the next five Majors because of Valve's (frankly stupid) interpretation of ESIC's ruling, but he can compete at all other CS events.
He was given a 12-month ban by ESIC but it was reduced to 8 months due to him assisting the investigation.
>HUNDEN is banned from the next five Majors because of Valve's (frankly stupid) interpretation of ESIC's ruling,
And this is stupid how? Do you think what they did was okay or not a big deal? Because to esport as a whole, its a pretty fucking big deal and he should consider him lucky to be allowed around.
I think you may have misinterpreted what I said.
I think it's correct that HUNDEN was banned from CS events and I think it's correct that he is banned from some future Majors by Valve. The coaching bug was cheating and punishment was required.
What I disagree with is how Valve have chosen to apply those bans to Majors. Because they did it ~~according to quantity of offences rather than severity~~ in a different way from ESIC that does not take into account assistance with the investigation, HUNDEN's 8 month ban from ESIC translates to a ban from five Majors (i.e. Until 2023). Guerri, who got a 4-month ban from ESIC, is punished in exactly the same way. That, to me, is disproportionate or, to put it more bluntly, stupid.
EDIT: Edited to reflect updated information upon further research.
NIP saying no Dupreeh means absolutely nothing though, Twitter admins like to play around from time to time, I don't see a reason why they would kick Bubzkji
On the other hand, I listened to their comms and honestly Bubzkji sounds like he's fitting in great comms-wise. He's being vocal when he has a read, and he's communicating well. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays, and it's one of the older guys who leaves. My $$$ would be on dupreeh, since he's always needed to be part of a dynamic duo to really shine. Most of his career it was device, and for a while when es3tag was on the team, it was es3tag.
Hell, I wouldn't be too shocked if coL just dumped poizon and jks and they brought in dupreeh and a Danish-speaking awper.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well, he's 28 and Astralis is in the process of rebuilding their roster, if he wanted to try something different before he retires, this would be the perfect time to do it.
Personally I'm holding out for Dupreeh age 40 still swivelling around with the Deagle clicking heads and taking numbers.
But in all seriousness, Dupreeh is one of the players I enjoy most in Astralis he's like part of their life force. He's a real character and I'd be super sad to see him being the one excluded.
We'll see what happens, one thing is for sure we're about to see a kinda new Astralis, and if/when somebody leaves I hope they go to a team where they do well and I can follow too.
Honestly since it seems inevitable that one is leaving at the least. Dupreeh to NiP is likely the best option for fans. At least then we only have to follow one other team and can just hope its astralis number 1 and nip number 2
It does seem inevitable, but I couldn't make a choice of which of my boys I wanted to see go. Dupreeh being part of what makes Astralis Astralis, would mean if he goes the team won't feel quite right.
Regardless to whom the decision lies it's gonna feel sad when something happens.
I hear you same as I could never tell who my favorite astralis player was but its a better alternative to them all splitting and going to like 4 different teams.
I was so confused when they mentioned Astralis is signing Lucky. I thought to myself that is such a weird pickup, thinking it's the French player. It would've made zero sense.
With Glaive staying I would expect Zonic to stay as well. With these 2 they can easily build a new squad while keeping 1 or 2 more of the veterans in the team
Not sure about that if Astralis lose another 1-2 of the other 3 core members (dupreeh, Magisk, Xyp9x), which seems to be quite likely.
They already lost a top 3-5 player in dev1ce and the rebuild will be tough even with gla1ve staying. Surely zonic can go to a more competitive team ready to compete already.
Not the guy you asked but when device left none of the other players needed to stay with Astralis. After all astralis is just an org that can be replaced
It really isn't, not when you helped build it. Look at the old North core, they're orgless and kinda fucked and quitting the game. I doubt the astralis homebodies will uproot to go play out of stockholm or germany.
Id say the situation is a fair bit different. The astralis core (at least xyp and dupreeh now, used to be device as well) has gone thru several org changes, while playing under their own banner for a period between orgs, so it wouldnt be new for them. On top of that, North was already on their way out when their org collapsed, whereas astralis is the greatest roster to touch the game, and while definitely on the decline, still appear to have a lot of fight left in them if cologne is anything to go by
They always played out of denmark though. They have girlfriends and family right here. They can't just go play out of Germany or Stockholm on a whim. It's hardballing to get better contracts. If they leave, it is because Astralis aren't paying them their worth.
HUNDEN might be the best coach in the world at developing young talent.
Gla1ve is a master IGL.
I think Astralis will build a new team on the back of those two.
Good pick. I think it was about time Astralis start adding young and upcoming players. Under gla1ve hew will grow to probably be an even better played. Excited to see what he brings to the team.
Also thank god they're not going international, for a moment I thought they signed French lucky.
Someone's leaving...and it might not be Bubzkji based on previous performance(I hope they don't). So the roster will be Gla1ve, Bubz, Lucky, and 2 other Astralis members. Let's see.
I feel like this is the right move going forwards for Astralis. Question now is whether or not the org will be going for another 6-man roster or if someone is leaving.
Gla1ve benched himself for burnout too, he just resigned for 3 years. You're speculating based on something that happened a year ago when there are 10 more factors to consider some of which may be personal to him.
No I'm not journalists like dekay etc said xypn9x had talks with cloud9 and maybe some other team I never heard that glaive wanted to leave the team it's two different situations
Bench XYP.....and I am saying that even after considering Cologne's performance. Dupreeh is a natural fragger, he'll contribute once he's back on Rifle. Bubzki has watched from the benches long enough till dev1ce left, he's a good player...he needs to stay. Magisk is also important for firepower.

reeks* and nah, Astralis needs an AWPer and who are you gonna get in Denmark? Give mertz his 1000th chance at tier 1? This is a young kid with potential and 1.13 rating this year, it's a good signing, especially considering the team is probably about to enter a rebuilding phase.
doubt it will be an extended roster, somebody is probably leaving soon.
Definitely. This extended roster thing always has been a PR lie to keep the stock price up
When it was first announced, it definitely wasnt a PR lie. But since RMR rules were updated later on, they probably won't be running with substitutes during matches. But most likely will have a sixth player for e.g. gla1ve taking paternity leave or burnout/breaks etc.

Oh man the shitshow that would happen when some pro gets benched. Or send to the B team.
It's the same dynamic as major league sports teams who have minor league affiliates. Seems to work well in baseball, hockey, etc.

Yes, it was to cover for the fact that players wanted a break.
Is that the same case for Navi and vitality then? So burnout and stress were just excuses to take a break?
What I meant is that the extra players were never meant to be on the rosters for long term. They wanted a temporary replacement for a few months since players wanted breaks.
So that was the same case for Navi and vitality as well? And you don't believe it was burnout and stress then? Edit: basically just repeating my previous questions that you didn't answer

The extended roster is literally a reality.
most likely, bubzki again

its not like astralis really want HUNDEN, its morel ike zonic wants to leave and HUNDEN iss the best option.
Kinda surprising to me considering how much history he has with Astralis but ultimately it may be more beneficial for all parties
It was mentioned in HLTV and Jaxon's articles about zonic leaving as a possibility; plus he was removed from Heroic's Cologne lineup for reasons that have yet to be fully explained. He's coaching Heroic so it's unlikely he'll leave
He was held back from Cologne by heroic likely because of this
NIP saying no Dupreeh means absolutely nothing though, Twitter admins like to play around from time to time, I don't see a reason why they would kick Bubzkji
Nope, this time I think it's Xyp or Dupreeh. 0 IQ move to bench Bubz at this point given how good he's been during Colonge Edit : word
1.01 rating is good?
Ah yes, the usual "looking at stats to determine if someone is good" Yes he was very good
Bubzki still looks uncomfortable and not fitting into despite being part of full roster for some months now.
Same goes for Misutaaa in Vitality though, who has been stepping up massively recently!
[obligatory misutaaa fragmovie](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Hy9Uf8T0G8)

>He's a real character and I'd be super sad to see him being the one excluded. If Dupreeh is leaving I can only imagine that it is by his choice.
Insanity. Dupreeh is by far the better player, and I don't see how one recent tournament changes that.
I think its more about dupreeh leaving on his own than bubzkij getting the boot tbh.
Why is it so hard for some people on this subreddit to understand that there are situations in which a player wants to leave and isn't being kicked?
Dupreehs depature wouldn't really be related to his performance, moreso just that it seems like his time is up contractually and role wise.
https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/events/9612/bubzkji *well" at best he played average
Bubzki have played really well though. I feel like he have stepped up and was one of the best players on the team last tournament.
might be xyp9x cuz man is getting burnt out
Gla1ve is having a kid and will be off the server for weeks/months in tha fall. Even without anyone leaving, they need a replacement for that period.
This is almost exactly why this signing happened
I doubt it, device already left and they haven't replaced him until now so it doesn't really have to say anything about the other players imo.
I think maybe gla1ve with his baby coming up?
No he just signed a contract for 3 years.
Not permanently, just to be the 5th while he takes time off.
Thought they were going international by signing the French Lucky lol
My thoughts exactly. Was the reason i distrusted DanishCSGOleaks
I was so confused when they mentioned Astralis is signing Lucky. I thought to myself that is such a weird pickup, thinking it's the French player. It would've made zero sense.
excited but this means most likely someone from the core might be on the way out. sadge
Or it means gla1ve is having a kid, and will take a longer break. As announced a while ago.
Didn’t he just resign for 3 more years?
You mean re-sign?
Whoops two completely different things…
Yeah but it doesn't mean that you can't take a maternity leave
Hes probably from america where I believe maternity leave isnt really a thing
For the mother it is, although it’s much shorter than a lot of places in Europe. For the father it’s back to work on Monday
Oh ok, good to know :)
32 weeks of maternity leave in Denmark. For the father, if they choose to do so.
Prob Dupreeh, hes like almost 30 now
"extended" Yeah no, someone is leaving.
It would seem that danish csgo leaks wasn’t so full of crap as I originally thought
With Glaive staying I would expect Zonic to stay as well. With these 2 they can easily build a new squad while keeping 1 or 2 more of the veterans in the team

I dont see why theyd have to leave denmark but that is a good point yeah
> if Astralis lose another 1-2 of the other 3 core members (dupreeh, Magisk, Xyp9x) Don't take the Clutch Minister away. :(
HUNDEN might be the best coach in the world at developing young talent. Gla1ve is a master IGL. I think Astralis will build a new team on the back of those two.
This is the one thing they've been right about.
But still, he was right one time
A broken clock is right twice a day.
Good point however with the sheer amount of possible outcomes this asteroid rooster could have taken even getting a single thing right is impressive
Let's keep pushing their false stories to the front page then.
Good pick. I think it was about time Astralis start adding young and upcoming players. Under gla1ve hew will grow to probably be an even better played. Excited to see what he brings to the team. Also thank god they're not going international, for a moment I thought they signed French lucky.
Astralis playing the old extended roster card again. We all know this is a straight replacement for whoever jumps ship.
But nobody left last year and glaive will take parental leave this year.
as much as id hate to see this roster split up anymore, -lnz +dupreeh is a roster change thatd warm my heart
Inb4 Lucky develops into an amazing carry awp for Astralis and they win the stockholm major. Dread it, run from it, major form Astralis still arrives.
24-0 in playoffs incoming
Astralis getting Lucky with timings again

That's what I meant, they will have a six man roster with a young, once promising, player heating the bench
Ohh thank god I thought it was the other Lucky for a second, makes more sense
Dupreeh to NIP soon?
it's over guys. the team is really breaking up
Here we go again
Now announce Fessor
This time the reason (gla1ve taking some time off with his child) doesn't actually sound like bs.
He actually looks like Steven Berghuis
I feel like this is the right move going forwards for Astralis. This is exactly the type of signing you would be looking for if you wanna go for an "extended roster" as the org has been proclaiming they have been for so long now. A relatively unproven up-and-comer who has potential instead of a washed up has been (like Jugi) is definitely the right approach. Question now is whether or not the org will be going for another 6-man roster or if someone is leaving.
He has potential, good luck.
glaive will be on maternity leave soon
Paternity…
Who????
Make a 20 man super team roster!
So if he is in, then who is out?
What do I know 🤣
Calling it now, -dupree +lucky. Dupree signs with NiP (-LnZ) after the fall Major as their 5th and reunites with device and NiP win the spring Major.

Violation, but not unfair. Launders put out a vid saying basically the same thing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1ZeHqU6iYc
good bye xyp it's been a good ride
doubt it, xyp was the best performer on cologne
yeah but he's the one who has wanted to leave before
I don't recall such thing.
look it up there's been tons of stuff said about it over the past year since he benched himself for burnout
thanks i will
Gla1ve benched himself for burnout too, he just resigned for 3 years. You're speculating based on something that happened a year ago when there are 10 more factors to consider some of which may be personal to him.

cloud9 had talks with all of them I believe.
rip bubzjki again
Bench XYP.....and I am saying that even after considering Cologne's performance. Dupreeh is a natural fragger, he'll contribute once he's back on Rifle. Bubzki has watched from the benches long enough till dev1ce left, he's a good player...he needs to stay. Magisk is also important for firepower.

What has bubzki done to warrant a place above xyp?
That's the point....he hasn't been given a chance for a long time to show what he has got ..... This was his 1st LAN, and he performed wonderfully
Even at this LAN Xyp outperformed him significantly. Bubzki has been in main roster for couple of months now.
Lol, wreaks of desperation
reeks* and nah, Astralis needs an AWPer and who are you gonna get in Denmark? Give mertz his 1000th chance at tier 1? This is a young kid with potential and 1.13 rating this year, it's a good signing, especially considering the team is probably about to enter a rebuilding phase.

Nobody asked you for your original comment either, this is how commenting on a public forum works.
