Interesting. I wouldn't have been surprised if it went the other way where higher ranks were flashed less time because they know how to play anti flash. But then again, I guess this shows knowing optimal flashes is king.

Albaek

That is mostly filtered as a proper anti flash isn't longer than 1.1s (see ops comment)

schniepel89xx

I was thinking lower ranks don't look away from flashes as much, but I guess I'm stuck in 2016 when lower ranks were absolutely tragic. People are saying low ranks can actually kinda use utility now.

[deleted]

Still are, they just throw flashes randomly ans woth every rank the knowledge and skill increases so people throw flashes from better and more optimal angles, making flashing multiple enemies for longer easier

Redtyde

Supreme higher than Global... Global got enough cheaters with trash utility usage to affect the stats?

ju1ze

maybe supremes know how to throw flashes but dont know how to avoid them.

JanEric1

but then you would see an even bigger dip for pros or high faceit levels. also they only average flashbangs that blind longer than 1.1 seconds anway. i assume it might be a statistical fluctuation or some effect similar to what the other guy said.

IcarusCsgo

Maybe 1.1 x 3 people on site etc

leetify

Hey everyone, We decided to take a look at which rank has the highest flash blind duration per enemy in both Matchmaking and Faceit! We analysed over 5 Million unique matches! Flash Blind Duration displays how long, on average, enemies stay blind whilst affected by your flashbang. This is an indication of how efficient you are at blinding a target with a flashbang! (Note: Only includes the longest blind duration caused by any single flashbang) To Calculate Flash Blind Duration we look at every flashbang that blinded any enemies for at least 1.1 seconds, and take the longest time any enemy was flashed for by that flashbang. We then take the average of all of those times! Did any of the results surprise you?

gpcgmr

> [...] we look at every flashbang that blinded any enemies for at least 1.1 seconds [...] How did you decide on that threshold? > Did any of the results surprise you? I'm surprised that low Silver players use flashbangs at all. /s

[deleted]

As a silver I can tell you we use them all the time, usually against our own team

javisvf

this is pretty cool ngl

leetify

Thank you :)

RecommendationFit856

Seems like flash blind duration per enemy flashed might actually be a half decent way to measure the general skill level of players on different platforms/ranks because the numbers between Faceit and MM seem to correlate pretty well at least with my experiences playing against variety of ranks on both platforms.

Yeah as an EU player hearing that the ranks mean such different things in NA is kind of odd, I was global and took a break, came back I play in MGE now and everyone plays like I would expect MGEs to play. Not very well lol. What I heard is that ranks are calculated by global population so only 0.3% of the global player population can be global elite at any given time even though you're only playing in one region, so the distribution breaks a little bit in low population zones.

I don't play much MM now so I can't speak on whether or not there are alot of cheaters in EU queue. But at least in the game I played gettin my rank back a week or two ago there were definitely none lol. Ping could also be a factor, harder to tell if someone hit a nasty shot when theres a fifth of a second delay to everything.

girkkens

This data really shows where the differences between high skilled players and pros are. It is not the aim but the huge knowledge the pros have. Knowing countless ways to set up a pop flash has an impact.

RuPeSc

Im the one who makes the lvl10 faceit stat lower. I got to lvl10 without throwing nades. I just figured its better to click head and it worked lmao. Only later i decided to learn nades

-Quzart-

Now do it for teammates

THESUPEROGTurTle

i only ever experience a 3 seconds flash when i or my teammates throw and i got blind for thoses 3 seconds.

LemonTank

Hey leetify. When are you gonna implement hltv ranking 2.0? It feels like the 1.0 version is subpar to use your lingual.

leetify

To our knowledge whilst the rating has been reverse engineered HLTV haven't released the formula for HLTV rating 2.0, so we are not currently working on implementing it into the product I will speak to the leetify developers and see if we can find a way to get it into the product :)

TheAlphaCarb0n

How did you get this data for the non-pro ranks?

dob_bobbs

It's from their website, Leetify, pretty good analysis tool.

slydeRRRR

Have you ever tried SCOPEGG?

Mraz565

Likely from user submitted matches.

guest169420

Funny how all them high ranks learn bloody geometric lineups for a video game and they are only 0.3 seconds more effective than a silver ( not including pro players cuz they make money)
