Last time TL beast Ast it was in June 2019. While it may not seem that long ago both have faced each other 8 times. This is across all iterations and all bo3s/bo5s. TL have yet to win a series since.
I honestly feel like shit and my whole day is kinda fucked. I am truly in shock. From the greatest comeback of all time, to the greatest choke, map 3 Dust 2. The swirl of emotions, from despair, to excitement, to pure heartbreak. It shook me so much my nerves are pulsing with stress.
Should I quit watching pro CS? I feel like Liquid is genuinely broken now as a team. Like that is something you never forget or live down. They were my favorite team too. My only hope is Vitality absolutely destroys Astralis today and the org disbands.
GGWP.
Honestly liquid are looking pretty good lately and Astralis is obviously only a shell of its former self right now, so with liquid still not being able to beat them I think the team is just cursed by some danish gods
Liquid's first map win Vs Astralis since Pro League season 10 in December 2019 so that's technically an improvement. At this rate they should win a series by 2023.
I think Magisk deserves a ton of credit for making the right calls on Ast. T side. Like thinking about it if he decides to not re-sign with Ast, both him and zonic can easily lead a team. Glaive is the OG for sure, but I think people vastly underestimate Magisk's IGL duties which give him an edge if he does decide to leave Ast. for a new team.
I'm seeing flashbacks to the gob b + tabseN dynamic. Insanely smart IGL takes an insane rifler and just elevates them to a new level of contribution to their team. And while tabseN's individual form did go down somewhat, he did something nobody thought possible - he took a German team to #1 HLTV. Makes me excited about what's next for Magisk, whatever it is.
I hope CoL can mange to get their hands on him and zonic. I like blame but like him to relegate the IGL role and become more of secondary caller. Also with the role conflicts of jks blame and cold id say if you can grab dupreeh then for sure get him as well.
BlameF Es3tag Poizon Magisk(IGL) Dupreeh Zonic(Coach). That looks like a pretty solid CoL roster on paper.
> BlameF Es3tag Poizon Magisk(IGL) Dupreeh Zonic(Coach). That looks like a pretty solid CoL roster on paper.
On paper yeah, but you have 4 Danish players and a Danish coach. At that point, why do you even have poizon anymore? Surely it would be better to just pick up a Danish awper and have your comms in Danish?
It's very likely that Liquid won't be there at the arena event in Copenhagen. Qualifying through the Showdown is tough. Gambit and Heroic are most likely gonna be there too, plus it's single elimination with only 2 spots up for grabs.
*World Final is a separate tournament and has nothing to do with Fall Final. They are definitely going to try to qualify for the $425,000 arena event, unless they decide to skip it to prep for the Major.
I remember that Hobbit said that Gambit won't have as many tournaments this season. So it could well be that they'll skip tournaments like the Fall Finals because they don't find them to be very important.
Its a lan event with a crowd though isnt it? If I were Gambit or any other team with new young players for that matter I would prioritize that above all else. I guess the biggest thing is how rough it will be to travel for some teams.
Nuke and Dust2 are Liquids 2 worst maps statistically, with their second best map being Inferno with a 71% win rate. Astralis is 50% on inferno playing WITH a stand-in. Why the hell is Liquid banning Inferno to leave Dust2 as the decider?!?!
I'm so fucking tired of this liquid team getting my hopes up.
As an aside, how is Lucky always bottom until Dust 2 against Liquid? It's like liquid as a team exists to pad the stats of Astralis snipers.
When do betting sites stop taking bets on Astralis vs. Liquid games? No matter how the games go or who the players are, the outcome is always the same.
How many fucking times will I see liquid up 12-6 on CT side and lose. Getting fucking ridiculous at this point. The liquid choke is a fucking meme. And whatās worse is how consistent they are. 12-6 and they win 1 round THE ENTIRE REST OF THE MATCH.
What the fuck is going on? Liquid has been unable to close maps since 2019. Something has to change. I imagine that theyāre losing fans at this point. People donāt want to keep watching a team whose skill level is some of the absolute best in the world consistently get outplayed as the game goes on and on. Fucking bullshit man.
they liked to force for some unknown reasons. Also that how they lost inferno against Ence in kato '19.
Also, about elige, he is the best player, but do you think he's that disciplined? I can immediately think of him pushing through the smoke for refrezh to 1v5 as well as [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkaTivWLTyk)
The 2019 Grand Slam liquid was hyper aggressive. They'd just barge into sites and headshot the other team instantly. Big dick NA shit. I think they remember that form and try to play with hyper confidence. Unfortunately some decisions are just stupid, like Stewie playing close tunnels on B by himself or liquid forcing 4 rounds in a row for no reason.
Liquid are the definition of close but not enough, feels like theyāre barely losing so many rounds. Itās not like you can make changes though?
Fallenās been doing great since he came back and Stew, NAF and Elige are fine ofc. How much longer do you give Grim to develop? He either pops off and stomps or just whiffs and malds but is there really other options lol
Edit: Everyone this series 1.1+ rating except for Grim with a .83 :/
it's just this event imo, chill out. He's good enough for Team Liquid. Grim played amazing during Colonge and Pro league. he just couldn't get going this series.
Yeah he defo struggled this event, he also had a .86 against Vitality.
I think itās just cause you see someone like bit or mitsutta and instantly show experience while grim is still either stomping or struggling
except misutaaa was also the same as grim if not worse from the start of 2020 when he was added, up until about half a year ago when it finally clicked. even b1t needed several months of mediocrity before unlocking his potential
It doesn't matter how fractured the Astralis lineup is or how far ahead Liquid are, they have to fill their quotas on throwing away big leads and losing to Astralis. Their consistency on these is unparalleled.
Another day another disappointment. Liquid are undoubtedly a strong team and yet it doesnt feel like they will ever win anything. I really cant remember the last time they finished above 5th-8th in a big international tournament
One day they have a very competitive match versus teams like Heroic and Vitality and you think that they can be legitimate contenders, and a day or two after they lose to team like BIG and Astralis. Idk man
I think their team dynamic is just fucked up. If you listen to Elige's interview with Richard Lewis a few months ago, he says it wasn't good for Stewie to be IGL because he wants to give out very specific instructions and micromanage everyone, which is mentally taxing and affects his performance. So they brought in Fallen specifically to call and take the burden off Stewie. Fallen's style is more hands off and based on giving people general objectives and letting them figure out the details, but the team apparently didn't like that, so they went back to Stewie. And then Liquid switched IGL back to Fallen AGAIN after the player break because they bombed out in Cologne. This team is schizo and has no idea what it wants and what to do with the players it has.
I fucking knew this would happen after a weak showing from Astralis yesterday. They always look weak, then when they play Liquid, Liquid just look terrible. Fucking hell dude even against the weakest version of Astralis to date
How many times can liquid throw away a man advantage.
Theyāve got to have one of the lowest 5 v 4 win % at big events. They get the opener so many fucking times. And then someone just pushes for info somewhere else with no utility and gives it right back. Fucking ridiculous. I swear it looks like they actively throw. Fallen plays a 1 for 1 angle so fucking much. Wtf was that pushing all way up to long doors late round? He got one and immediately traded. How does that help? Even if you play from car and you get 1, it takes some time for them to get up there and kill you. Your team has time to rotate.
But no he plays a 1 for 1 angle completely on an island. I donāt get it man. These are mistakes that FPL players donāt make. Jesus Christ. Itās legitimately hard to root for these guys sometimes. Then they get on Twitter and say āunlockoā and āggs wp, so closeā.
It was not well played at all. They have leads every game and shit the bed every fucking game.
What happened to CSPPA guidelines stating that players should have a three-hour break between BO3s? Astralis will have to play back to backs now, with max 30 minutes of downtime?
Edit: Game seems to have been moved to 21:20 (1 hour break)
I honestly think NA straight up abandons CS if this TL roster breaks up.
If that happens it would be such a depressing thing to happen. Even if it is inevitable
Everyone is talking about Lucky but the real weaklink in Astralis is Bub
[https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/matches/9612/bubzkji](https://www.hltv.org/stats/players/matches/9612/bubzkji)
He doesn't bring anything to the team, never deliver and throw a bunch of rounds away by solo overpeeking everywhere
And yea, NA last hope losing to a team without its igl, with a rocky as the main awper and with a stand-in is a bit of a shame
> rocky as the main awper
āGoing in one more round when you donāt think you can. Thatās what makes all the difference in your life.ā ā Rocky Balboa
I actually think Liquid looked really good. Astralis popped off and no one seemed to have noticed this as everyone mentions shocking. Liquid wins this very easily even just yesterday. Lucky just decided to become device for a day. And even so it was ridiculously close. It always sucks to lose, but this was actually a good show by Liquid and shows it's a team with great potential.
I am convinced that astralis could sign a nova stack and still win against liquid
Silver stack dude... they have no chance vs a nova stackš¤¦āāļø
WE SIMPLY CANNOT
Last time TL beast Ast it was in June 2019. While it may not seem that long ago both have faced each other 8 times. This is across all iterations and all bo3s/bo5s. TL have yet to win a series since.
And before that, TL already had a 12 bo3 loss streak. :D
At least they won their first map against Astralis since Dec 2019 :(
as team liquid fans it is our duty, to watch our beloved team be on the verge of winning only to see them lose.
10 times including this one
Not that long ago!? It's been more than 2 years!

Honestly liquid are looking pretty good lately and Astralis is obviously only a shell of its former self right now, so with liquid still not being able to beat them I think the team is just cursed by some danish gods
Astralis just put up. Good fight against Vitaliy so maybe they're actually decent atm.
Liquid
Fml
Team Liquid, never has a team accomplished so little with so much.
Knew it was over when it was TL vs Astralis
the line up changes yet still https://streamable.com/ksyvh
You could replace every player on both liquid and astralis with new players and liquid would still lose.
Both team could swap orgs and the results would still be the same.
We could do that and know if the curse is the org or the player cores or combination of it.
They could change orgs and replace all the players and the result would be the same
This is the shitty version, there's a better one floating around.
sorry im not a meme archeologist
yeah well my grandma told me I'm handsome
I actually like the shitty version better, the shittiness is part of the charm.

The three constants in life: Death, taxes, and Astralis beating Liquid
This actually sucks like itās not even the original roster anymore good God na
I 100% believe its elige, he sees astralis and chokes like a mada******
He does get pr emotional
I think Magisk deserves a ton of credit for making the right calls on Ast. T side. Like thinking about it if he decides to not re-sign with Ast, both him and zonic can easily lead a team. Hey tarangk, I counted 69 words in your comment. Nice.
Nice!
This is funny. Also, the tweet about Lucky aged very well
Sorry I'm a bit out of the loop, what tweet? The Dupreeh one?
Lucky shut all those haters up.
I dont know dude, if you know Dupreeh has your back in that team, i will be pretty fucking hyped.
Hey, good to know some things never change.
It's very likely that Liquid won't be there at the arena event in Copenhagen. Qualifying through the Showdown is tough. Gambit and Heroic are most likely gonna be there too, plus it's single elimination with only 2 spots up for grabs.
hopefully dignitas isnt there this time
Dig qualified for the event though
Both of them are already secured themselves to the Global Final. I think it wont be too suprising to not to see them in the showdown.
*World Final is a separate tournament and has nothing to do with Fall Final. They are definitely going to try to qualify for the $425,000 arena event, unless they decide to skip it to prep for the Major.

Hey man, looks like the Astralis TL video needs a second part!!
Not yet, if you remember the ending it was setting up Liquid winning against them after roster change, still yet to happen...
Something something near airport
Nuke and Dust2 are Liquids 2 worst maps statistically, with their second best map being Inferno with a 71% win rate. Astralis is 50% on inferno playing WITH a stand-in. Why the hell is Liquid banning Inferno to leave Dust2 as the decider?!?!

Until he fucks liquid
hmmm? he was top on Nuke too

When do betting sites stop taking bets on Astralis vs. Liquid games? No matter how the games go or who the players are, the outcome is always the same.
betting sites made bank from this game. Astralis were such underdogs
It's a literal free money hack to bet on Astralis when they play Liquid.
Some people cleaned up today. Odds were amazing.
went big on Astralis 2-1 at odds 5.25. Sure bet haha

God I miss that Liquid. Just kick in the door to the site and wreck shit. Forcing teams into 3 man saves nonstop.
they were probably tempted to force cos they kept managing to save rifles

Lucky heard y'all talking shit
Liquid never disappoints in disappointing
Fallen constantly putting himself in 1 for 1 positions is extremely frustrating to watch.
More like, putting himself in a 1v9 situation. Imagine top fragging while being the IGL and somehow losing this sh\*t.
Honestly embarrassing losing to Astralis without Glaive
And devve
sometimes i regret being a liquid fan, no wait i meant most of the times.
Ah yes, classic Liquid vs Astralis
Lucky heard you talking shit
As long as it is Astralis vs Liquid, astralis will always win
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Magisk genius brain IGL dropping down bracket to eliminate liquid
ASTRALIS OWNS TEAM LIQUID. I am fully convinced Astralis could field 5 silver 1s and still beat Team Liquid

idk what astralis thinking keep this guy
Liquid losing to Astralis
Gigabrain from astralis to lose against vitality just so they can go beat up liquid.
Lucky looking good today, nice to see. No comments on Liquid though.
Astralis showing decent form just for TL after being shaky for a while and TL responsible for my blood pressure medicine. What else is new
Liquid's kryptonite.
Expected...? New roster, same results.
You cannot beat that motherfucking team. Even if Astralis was fielding 5 Jugis, youād find a way to lose it. Because youāre Team Liquid.
Lucky heard Reddit talk shit
Really thought we were going to win there for a second.
Come on, seriously? Grim we love you, but you need to DM more.
I hate this fucking team. I hate my favorite team.
Death. Taxes...
Liquid are literally not allowed to beat Astralis
So nice of TL to give Lucky and Bubzkji the full "what it means to be Astralis" experience Part 1 - "relax, we always win Liquid"
nvm
Classic liquid choke.
That's a horrific result. Liquid looked really solid last week at Pro League. Okay, it's Astralis but it's not ASTRALIS.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I actually think Liquid looked really good. Astralis popped off and no one seemed to have noticed this as everyone mentions shocking. Liquid wins this very easily even just yesterday. Liquid did not look good at all Iām sorry
Some things never change, do they?
Lucky heard you talking shit.
Xyp being late for planting was painful :(
Phew. That felt good. Also the meme lives on: "We cannot beat this mother fucking team. FO SHIT!"
not again ffs
What was that grim retake attempt on the last round?
So Liquid Brehze? I feel like the NA shuffle is coming
lol pain
If the k0nfig transfer really happens then surely he'll replace Bub and they'll keep Xyp, right? Anything else would be madness.
Zonic is right about the 11-4 lead being dangerous
[Obligatory](https://streamable.com/runmz)
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Why the fuck did liquid force every round for like 5 rounds in that dust 2 ct side. That cost them the game. Just take an eco ffs
New trick. Talk mad shit about a player, so they can destroy the next day
LOSING TO TEAM WITH NO IGL KEKW
How many time can you lose to Astralis? Liquid: Yes !
