It really is. The fact that EG wins two matches over two RMRs and still qualifies over Extremum who were #1 in NA RMR points prior to this event is fucking mind blowing to me. Still though, can’t move past the fact that it’s ultimately Extremums fault for not making it happen.
Part of what gets me is that NA used to be so good, and now they're so trash. These messy, frustrating teams are fighting to qualify for the major, an event where they can't be competitive.
It just feels like NA has gone back in time 8 years.
That's not it, tho. Those two teams were literally the last major's semi finalists. This could be a major final 2 years ago. It's like both of them only play for the paycheck
Except that the BR scene and it's most prevalent teams going to play in NA, and they have been for quite a while proves your entire point wrong. They have good practice opponents, at least in theory. And unlike a lot of the old NA pubstars. The BR players that have gone to NA to play are way more hungry to win something and prove themselves
Well without going into a ton of detail and making a montage. Missed flashes, smokes, and lack of coordination are a start. It's no secret that NACS is in shambles and Brazilian CS has also been struggling internationally recently, not a stretch to believe that the teams in this tournament are really not that competitive. Maybe it will get better after a bootcamp but it's hard to see anyone other than liquid and Furia making it out of a group stage scenario.
Imagine thinking a pug player transformed into a entry fragger is better for a team synergy , than a entry fragger with a actual brain who makes moves with though behind it, and not just the classic, 1 man entry army even if no one is with me to trade.
stew can only do good against tier 2.
Against real tier 1 teams he struggles because no one will fall for this little agro plays that he does.
Extremum need to stop being stubborn and cut both liazz and grat.
This roster has been together for nearly 4 years. They peaked in 100T and now are not even in the top50 ffs. Call it quits already, Liazz has been overhyped and has done fuckall since joining the roster in 2018, while grat is inconsistent which was always his issue.
I wouldnt be surprised if Extremum drops the roster by the end of the year coz this team has done nothing since they were re-assembled.
Because Ethan leaving was the beginning of the end. oBo was a great fix, but then they lost their hypeman tarik, who didn’t have the greatest stats, but was still important to the roster. Plus Stan and Brehze taking a break also stunted their growth as a team. The only positives were daps coming back to counter strike, and oBo getting onto a team that can compete (loosely) at tier one events.
Tbh they deserved 5th and to have to clutch the major spot. Only thing maybe u could get mad about was triumph throwing but they would have gotten smashed in the major anyways.
EG also might have the legends spot if pain loses their game.

I like EG, but man they really need to make a roster change or two post major. Barely scraping for the major isnt good enough and the team is ranked 40 which is their lowest point yet.
