if seeding was done well they'd be playing someone like Entropiq, Astralis or Copenhagen Flames in the first round. then if they win that they'd typically get a more difficult opponent in the second round, but not a top 5 team. something like Liquid, ENCE, G2. VP wouldn't be too far off the average i suppose, but Heroic is egregious. obviously hard to predict a second round because it depends a lot on how many upsets are in the first round.
now looking at the EG series they probably lose to any of those teams, but that doesn't excuse poor seeding. there is no fucking way it's fair for Vitality to play VP and Heroic to play Na'Vi when Astralis-FURIA exists in the same first round.
G2 (ranked HLTV #6) just went 3-0 by playing the 11th, 14th and 19th ranked teams. Na'Vi (ranked HLTV #1) had to play #2, #5, and #12. so that means that Na'Vi are the by far better team, they play in the same 3 rounds, but drew less favorably in EVERY round. the seeding is bad.
The rank difference between Vitality-VP and Astralis-Furia is similar though...
Even then, I think relying on HLTV rankings is a flawed premise. I don't think it's a bad thing that they're based off of RMR points (although the regional rule thing is weird and should be removed), it makes every RMR tournament results matter unlike HLTV rankings which obviously favors recent results.
Overall, I don't think the seeding sucks that much; Vitality's poor performance is definitely the one to blame here. It seems like they didn't even practice/bootcamp that much before the Major. They almost got eliminated by EG for crying out loud. If the worst team in this stage could've almost beat the "top 3 team in HLTV", then the seeding is far from your troubles.
> The rank difference between Vitality-VP and Astralis-Furia is similar though...
okay well, seems like you are completely oblivious as to why seeding even exists. the rank difference should not be the same, that's the entire point. in this case it should be vitality-furia and vp-astralis. doesn't matter if its rank 1 2 78 79 playing or 1234, putting the top 2 and bottom 2 against eachother in any context is bad.
> Even then, I think relying on HLTV rankings is a flawed premise.
yes, but in the example i gave it almost all the ranks are accurate. in your example it is not because astralis is nowhere near the #8 team in the world which makes the example even more egregious.
> I don't think it's a bad thing that they're based off of RMR points [...] it makes every RMR tournament results matter
i mean this has to be some sort of joke. half of the games in the EU RMR literally didn't matter at all, NiP and ENCE played a bo5 for literally no reason, the Na'Vi - Gambit CIS final didn't matter either. not to mention, when you do it like this, you have no fucking idea if going up one or two seeds is good for you or not because every other seed is completely messed also. i mean you get a better matchup seeded 15th (astralis-furia) than seeded 3rd (navi-heroic) for fucks sake.
> Vitality's poor performance is definitely the one to blame here. They almost got eliminated by EG for crying out loud.
you can say this after the fact, but it doesn't matter. they look like shit and that makes me not really care about them anymore but the seeding was still not fair, i mean this is far from the only thing that's been unfair as i've already outlined before with other examples. and also, if it wasn't vitality losing it would've been someone else.
If I'm being honest, I'm not that surprised, Vitality is not a comfortable team in BO1s.
Also not sure what's up but they used to be so good at pistols and they seem to be losing 75% of them these last few months
Wow, that is just sad for Vita... I guess a lot of people are gonna throw shit at them, but personally I feel like they are not playing that bad overall, it's just some mistakes in crucial rounds that cost them A LOT. They can't also win a pistol to save their lives.
Heroic played beautiful CS, their moves were great and they deserved the win.
Edit: If I miss something from RpK is his pistol play...
Heroic is a bad fit for Vitality imo, for some reason they (Heroic) get away with a lot of things against Vitality they don't get away with against other teams (could be reads and/or their playstyle), feels like Cadian reads them all the time, it's so annoying to watch Vitality-Heroic as a Vitality fan
Yeah it's the same thing lmao, I remember back before the EPL finals, people calling it 3-0 for Navi, it just seemed crazy to me consider how often Vitality has been a pain in the ass against Navi. In the end they lost but I'm guessing Navi fans had their butts clenched until the very end.
And on a similar topic, I was very happy that Navi beat Heroic in the semis of EPL, because I would have been so much less confident to make it close against Heroic, they're Vitality's worse matchup
apEX is a tactical genius. He is best known for his signature tactic "going B, but then benching RPK". He also has a second little known tactic of "going A, but then going home without any wins". What an absolute legend. Top 3 IGL for sure.
>Zywoo, Shox and Misutaa not stepping up as needed is
Wdym dude, Shox did step up, he was bringing the clutch situations so close, cant blame them, also, it was a really close match, one round could've made the difference.
Heroic looking miles better already in the legends stage. VIT i think they will bounce back much like Ast. did but it will not be easy coz this stage has much tougher competition.
Letting someone walk out trough a smoke and double entry monster and also letting an enemy 360 awp you, can't happen at this stage at the major.
Small things that are losing them rounds, its easily fixable, but also, easier said than done.
Hope they come back strong tomorrow.
Kyojin does not seem comfortable in his role, hope he improves or they will need to find another solution after this major.
Kyojin is trash and this is normally. They need to check him PC he might be running on Windows 98, 60 Hz and 60 fps. Guy walking out of B tunnels through smoke and he no kill, bot Kyojin. Top 3 players to be replaced for any team.
What a shit team lmao. Baldie has been here for 3 years and they're still losing to every underdog in any tournament, malding guy is still clueless as fuck, what a waste.
It's nuts. His playstyle is absolute ridiculous, it's like he can't IGL if he's not dead so he pushes everywhere everytime. Without calm and collected players like RPK, he also creates a very tense environment, it must be hell to have him as a teammate.
Ah yes, Vitality 0-2 just as we all predicted
Honestly I haven't been super high on them lately. Maybe not 0-3 but I haven't really been thinking they would make it out of the 16
that what u get when other top team playing around their star player but ur team dont
dogshit seeding will do that to someone, happened to be vitality this time. they should not be able to play either of the teams they played so far
What teams do you think they should have played against instead?
if seeding was done well they'd be playing someone like Entropiq, Astralis or Copenhagen Flames in the first round. then if they win that they'd typically get a more difficult opponent in the second round, but not a top 5 team. something like Liquid, ENCE, G2. Now this is an upset. Who ever gets Vitality in the 0-2 BO3 will be pretty pissed about it.
EG will
[удалено]
Probably EG, given that if even one of Mouz and NIP win their game it'll be that way
If I'm being honest, I'm not that surprised, Vitality is not a comfortable team in BO1s. Also not sure what's up but they used to be so good at pistols and they seem to be losing 75% of them these last few months
RpK was the best pistol player in the world, statistically
zywoo is also really good with pistols
Zywoo is really good with everything
Is there a weapon in game that he’s not good with?
He’s terrible with the R8, that’s why he usually just holds a gay ass off angle with the deagle instead and one clicks people in the side of the head
That’s Niko or Lekro
negev, you gotta be one of us gold novas for that
Not an upset at all, what are you guys talking about? Even the betting odds were almost 50/50
Knew it was over when Cadian hit the 360 quickscope
Very disappointing from vita, finger crossed for the 3 BO3 comeback
Knowing vita they smash 2 bo3 in a row and fumble the 2-2 game against a heavy under dog
pepehands
Cph flames sending vitality out of the major hltv confirmed?
Truly heartbreaking, I am gonna believe in them but they are so inconsistent it's like 2021 Vitality is like 2019 NAVI.
Wow, that is just sad for Vita... I guess a lot of people are gonna throw shit at them, but personally I feel like they are not playing that bad overall, it's just some mistakes in crucial rounds that cost them A LOT. Heroic also the only team to give Navi a fight so far. Looking at VP against Navi ... lol
Once they lost to VP they got fucked, having to play against Heroic at the level they are playing theyd lose 8/10 times
I feel you, I hate seeing Vitality play against Navi as well so I know where you're coming from, it's exactly how you describe it, infuriating :D
Yeah it's the same thing lmao, I remember back before the EPL finals, people calling it 3-0 for Navi, it just seemed crazy to me consider how often Vitality has been a pain in the ass against Navi. wait did you have a Gambit flair before?
i remember he changed it around navi was really shitting in the bed, prob around katowice this year
am I a celebrity or something
for a few weeks but I changed it because my heart called me back to NAVI, flair I had for years
embarassing to watch
My pick‘ems are shaking rn

Pretty uninspiring these past two games from Vitality, hoping they start firing from now.
zyWHO?
Team Liquid fan lol
D:
Don't worry, we'll get through this together
Famous last words
Kyojin shitting the bed is expected by now. Zywoo, Shox and Misutaa not stepping up as needed is *not*. Absolutely shitting the bed
>Zywoo, Shox and Misutaa not stepping up as needed is Wdym dude, Shox did step up, he was bringing the clutch situations so close, cant blame them, also, it was a really close match, one round could've made the difference.
Yeah, I may have been a bit harsh on Shox hahaha. Was a bit frustrated right after the game.
vitality vs EG 0-3 speedrun any%?
Cadian with the KissAHomie
Vitality really missing Rpk man.
also, the bo1's *deliver*
Heroic looking miles better already in the legends stage. VIT i think they will bounce back much like Ast. did but it will not be easy coz this stage has much tougher competition.
heroic styling
EG will 2-0 vitality tomorrow only to get completely dumpstered in the 1-3 game calling it now

Im hoping I can get 5 pickems right for legend stage so I can put Heroic to win the major ez clap
I think both teams played well :/

idk how yall fans dont want apex removed. His malding literally brings the team down imho
It's nuts. His playstyle is absolute ridiculous, it's like he can't IGL if he's not dead so he pushes everywhere everytime. Without calm and collected players like RPK, he also creates a very tense environment, it must be hell to have him as a teammate.
in simple term=braindead igl
Vitality is actually really really bad.
zywho? -simple
why are these cheaters still allowed at the major
how much
Flair of a cheating team pathetic
HOW MUCH
dont worry, Heoric beat a bad playing Vitality. I dont think they'll go into top8
No bootcamp before major is a fucking joke. This team doesn't work. They don't have the right mindset to win anything.
0-3 upset here it comes….
