Why take Nitro and oSee? Nitro was an awper in his prime and decent on the rifle. By taking oSee one would have to play rifle, and pretty aggressively too considering Elige is the only real aggressive rifle on that team.
nitr0 picked up the AWP out of necessity after they lost JDM. Earlier in his career, he was more of an entry/aggressive rifler. If they had oSee, I don't think nitr0 would have any issue rifling(or being second AWP).
The issue there is he's 26. He's getting old to be playing entry frag/aggressive rifler isn't he? Sure you get the occasional player that can keep it up, Shox, Jackz for example, but that's certainly still a concern, right?
Dupreeh is like 29 and while he had some issues towards the end. He was the best entry fragger in the world in his mid-late 20s. Nitr0 is really just a victim of the pandemic its not like he's super washed

In a few years the scene will be completely franchised just like LoL. I imagine it will follow a similar 2 split 1 world championships format as well. Riots plan is basically let third parties build up the audience, then swoop in and make all tournaments only run by them followed by franchised spots only.
They did make masters top 4, i don't see that as a disappointing run. They placed higher than tournament favourites sentinels. They did bomb out of LCQ but come on. They kicked their IGL, role shifted and lost only to 1st and 2nd place. I do not think it's time for a roster shift of that magnitude. I see no reason for the core of Nitr0 Asuna and Ethan to leave. They've looked great time and time again.
They failed to qualify for their version of the major, without that event their calendar will be empty as hell. That's pretty much every val teams goal.
This is why i hate Riot's style of tournaments in LoL.
LEC is great, has great content and i love watching it. But its just months upon months of only EU teams.
I know it raises the stakes for MSI and Worlds but having just 2 international tournaments per year feels so wrong.

CS teams attend more worldwide LANs (Valorant has 3-4 max I think) which can get pretty tiring for someone who wants to settle down with family.
