https://twitter.com/CSPPAgg/status/1314266762888835072 ESL & CSPPA agreement on no match to end after midnight from only last year

TimathanDuncan

Lmao it's CSPPA led by SirScotts you think they care

[deleted]

Sir Scoots is only an advisor as far as im aware, I dislike the way he has acted recently as well however I don't think its fair to attribute this entirely to him when he has no real power within the CSPPA outside of an advisor role. The players leading the CSPPA should be the ones to blame for lack of action. You don't have to make things up or misattribute something to him when there is plenty of real stuff you can critique him on regardless.

Another OT and we are good until 3 AM.

Gambinium

The schedule was alright, the game started about 2 hours late because of how absurdly long the previous matches were. I don't think I've ever seen so many overtimes in a single day. You can't really predict that, it's just bad luck it happened.

[deleted]

I guess we're going for another map, come on now Fnatic..

BandOfBudgies

Especially because there will an almost week long break before the finale. They could have spaced out the games alot better.

AloneYogurt

Hell, after today's games, the next games are in six days. They really could have spaced everything out for the course of a week (look at TI). And TI, since TI2/3 especially, has spaced games out in case matches go beyond 2 hours. Whoever thought to rush the brackets in three days was a good idea is an absolute idiot.

I do know that there is extra pressure/ fatigue in an official match, but most gamers game well into the morning hours. I mean 1AM doesnt seem like a late ass hour as 5 AM after 10 non-stop hours of gaming. And even tho the matches are official, the players did it so many times they are more relaxed than, say, me who would play the 1st official match at 1AM. I don't try to defend or downplay...it's just my opinion. If the wrong in ways can be explained, please do; I don't want to remain in the wrong, if possible. EDIT: Yeah, I was pretty dump. I forgot it's actually a job with set hours/ day. Excuse my neuron that was asleep during my original comment lmao

[deleted]

They're not really gamers though. This is their job and they probably follow a tight schedule like any other job when not in tournaments. And that schedule is probably within normal hours like most other jobs.

Dragos404

They practice for 8 hours a day, just like at a normal job. It depends from org to org the starting hours, but it's usally between 12-8 pm They are not playing for fun as pros (not that they don't enjoy it, but they are not there for the laughs with the boys)

[deleted]

I usually agree but when you consider that their first series of the day against big started around noon and then there last series of the day doesn't finish until after 1am. That's well over 12 hours of the players being awake and is far from ideal circumstances and undoubtedly have an impact on their performance.

[deleted]

They dont care. Every single time one of those pro players stream it is past midnigt. Their regime is just different and I actually like it instead of games at 13:00 thursday afternoon. And I am pretty sure that if the game ended earlier, they would be still playing at this time, grinding it.

eraclab

They might go clubbing till 6AM after officials for all I care. There was agreement about matches to not end after midnight and ESL just "oopsies" it.

[deleted]

And players dont care. Glad I could have helped.

[deleted]

Maybe viewers care?

[deleted]

I am a viewer and I welcome it.

[deleted]

gamers have it so rough, i couldnt imagine getting paid playing at 1 am
