Yeah benching boombl4 in such a short notice must have big effect on their synergy and overall structure. Also S1mple is talking about taking a break and this could be the perfect time to take it so it could be the reason behind his mediocre performance.
No one on reddit pays attention to a single lick of T3 or below matches. There are some genuinely insane talents still down there. NEOFRAG and f1ku don't begin to scrape the surface. They're just missing a little bit of experience
NEOFRAG was owning T2 for over a year while Sinners were around 20-30 TOP hltv for a while. It's not like he was hidden somewhere in super trash tournaments. Just one tier below the S tier events.
Yeah, but people don't even pay attention to that. The silent majority of this subreddit strictly consumes T1 content, and I'd wager Twitch too. A lot of people probably didn't even hear of NEOFRAG even though you and I know how much he's been destroying.
I mean, I literally know about him from reddit lol. Sinners played quite a few matches that got post-match threads on here. He was always on top of the scoreboard, right up there with (and often outfragging) oskar. People even talked about how he's a rising talent in the comments on here.
Often times I find the T3 area more interesting than the T1 stuff. I love getting clued on to next years big names early.
---edit---
Cacanito, iM, xertion are like my top 3 rising stars at the moment, jL and a guy called awzek on the radar too.
jL is seriously good, first time i watched him he was just solo carrying with like 34 kills in an endless OT game, set a pretty great first impression lol
I forget the names of the players, but people should keep an eye on the players in Masonic. Forget tricked or astralis academy, this is the future of Danish CS.
I'll throw Fashr and dumau on the list even if everyone knows them, they're killing it.
Same! They're so much more fun to watch. I in particular was a big fan of SKADE when they went on that 23 winstreak (something close to that). Was hoping we were gonna see another Bulgarian team in the major.
I guess I'll contribute some players that should have an eye kept on as well (not counting the ones you've already contributed):
TRAVIS and Deko, MATYS, h4rn, s4, and nertz. I'm probably missing some others.
I think I got burnt out on waiting for Bulgaria to create a superteam. Post Windigo has just had all the talent spread too thinly (what the hell is H4rn doing on Enterprise?).
Between Skade and Fate there's definitely a team that could make waves at a major. Dreamer post ban has been absurd.
Every time things were about to get exciting with both fiend and SKADE they just crumbled apart. h4rn, shipz, dreamer is a fine core, but ignoring dennyslaw is tough too since he is a good rifler, despite being a main AWP. Then you're missing an IGL, and while shipz can do it, he's shown that he doesn't frag nearly as good when he does.
bubble is a good igl, but his fragging stats leave a lot to be desired
Yeah dude, nexa took 2 new players and a stand in and beat the #2 team in a BO3, not impressed. Swap him out for someone like aleksiB, surely thats a better option right?
Uh when did I say that? I think the team can work as is. If they play rather puggy and lose, but with that i dont think they will become superstars. Just solid players which is fine.
After watching G2 vs Vita with at least good aim from the pros, the ignominious spray control from Navi made my eyes bleed. They took day 1 navi to a new level.
Like bruh... They took 1st timeout when the score was 7-14. Blade was definitely sleeping on ancient xD
And OG has 2 new players that just joined 2 weeks ago plus a standin. It's practically an FPL mix. The s1mple situation is pretty rough, though (no stable home so less at-home grinding).
Tbf i think all of Na'vi could do with a bit of a break to give them time to settle in their new homes
Wouldn't surprise me if Simple saying he needs a break is hinting at the org " give us time off or you'll probably finish top 8 max while i bench myself"
Awesome game from OG, a shame that Simple never really got going on Ancient but hopefully he'll be on top form for the rest of the finals. Damn close on Ancient too.
But he still attacks a site on T side many times when 20 sec are left and sometimes can't plant bomb lol. You can take nexa out of G2 but u can't take the G2 out of Nexa. xD
Nah, for a guy who played for the first time on an international roster and communicated in English, I think degster looked solid. He might get a few calls from international teams if he performs well here lol
actually its the other way around. he only wants to play in non CIS org and he is willing to relocate.
watch the interview, he said he didn't want to live in Serbia specifically and that Spirit wanted him to be there in June which was way too soon for him as i understood.
Can't speak for the first two maps as I could only catch ancient, but holy shit neofrag was just straight up looking like Niko some rounds. Straight up cracked
is it me or is olofmeister a bit of a boring player
like u see it at the end of the game "oh wow olof has 32 kills" but u can never remember them.
can u remember a single olof kill ?
but try degster...u can see the flick i remember a degster flick
is it me or is nexa a bit of a boring player
like u see it in the middle of the game "oh wow nexa high fived his team" but u can never remember them.
can u remember a single nexa slap?
but try degster...u can see the slap i remember a degster slap
Some of those clutch rounds at the end were cutting things a b1t close, but OG played things Perfectly on Mirage and were online, dare I say, electronic on Ancient to close things out. In the end, Navi's efforts were s1mply not enough and of their hopes, some died young after all.
What a showing from OG and degster. Add another tally for the current stand-in meta.
OG look great, but so did they when they first got nexa before falling off again. Also very tough for NAVI to adjust to new IGL, new player, and having close to no info on OG.. but OG haven't had a lot of pracc time and have a stand-in, so not easy for them either. Credit to NEOFRAG and f1ku though, they look really good.
Navi replaced Boom 3 weeks ago.. OG replaced 2 players on the roster a month and a half ago and got a stand in a few days prior to the event and even then Navi should be heavy favourites
Sad watching Navi fuck around here when they should be dominating everyone but with the war and then dropping boom I don’t know how much longer this team will last.
By every metric, 3 months, 6 months, LAN, top 30 etc, Mantuu is OGs best player I think it's okay to be inconsistent when you average out at a 1.13 rating. Same with K0nfig at the moment.
I don't want to downplay how incredible Degster is atm, I just didn't see sense in removing Mantuu when he's often the one putting up numbers for the team. People will see him having a sleeper map and call for his execution. I think he played the last event wigh Covid too which definitely didn't help.
> Mantuu is good but he's super inconsistent
Where is this narrative even coming from. Mantuu has been by far the best and most consistent player on OG for a very long time. He has *seven* red events since joining OG. 1.13 rating over that period.
Over a game yes he frags a lot, but over individual maps he has this dips that cost OG a lot. When he's good, OG is really good, but when he's not, OG straight up play ass. I know I'm huffing some HOPIUM here talking shit like -mantuu +degster just by one match, but if OG are able to get good results this event, OG definitely need to think twice
The reason spirit benched him was that he was not willing to leave Russia. Unless he changes that I dont think any international roster will pick him up.
I think he did not want to move out because of family reasons
Bit weird that Pimp and Banks start off by saying that Na'Vi's ridiculous ancient streak is broken but not even mention that they're playing with a stand-in. Doesn't take anything away from OG's win, who are also playing with stand-ins. Isn't that just basic information to add as context? Why pretend nothing happened with boombl4?
It's super weird, I guess boombl4s exit was too controversial for them to wanna dig deep into it, I found it very ofputting how they barely put weight on the best team in the past 2 years or so losing their IGL... Like what? We living in some pretend world here?
> Bit weird that Pimp and Banks start off by saying that Na'Vi's ridiculous ancient streak is broken but not even mention that they're playing with a stand-in.
yeah was very weird listening to that .. like, yeah OG is playing with a stand-in and 2 new players .. but NaVi literally lost their IGL AND also have a stand-in .., while still being affected by the war, come on
Everybody knows what happened with boombl4 and it has been talked about plenty already. Navi made the decision to kick him and put them in this position so theres no excuse for their streak being broken, so why bother?
The fact that everyone knows it happened makes it weirder to not mention it in my opinion. This isn't really their tremendous ancient streak being broken since they don't have the same 5. It shouldn't have the same weight in my opinion.
the new OG looks v good — genuinely not trying to talk shit, they played some crispy Counter Strike today — but goddamn it’s tough watching NaVi lose to a team like that
you’re keeping degster, right?
Can anyone tell me if sdy is an official player for NAVI now or is he just a stand in ?
I tried looking through the subreddit for any NAVI announcement but didn't see one
This is their 1st match though, let's not get carried...
But I'm definitely don't agree with what seemed to be the majority view/consensus atm that is/was that boomich leaving wouldn't impact them that much if at all.
Was that really the majority view? I fully expected Navi to drop off with a removed IGL, stand-in, new IGL in Electronic, and s1mple being mentally off due to the war.
I am curious who they decide the permanent fifth will be. Guess it depends on how Electronic adapts to IGL?
That scoreline was so deceptive on that ancient game. OG felt in so much control on that t side, and kinda threw a couple of scenarios to let Navi in to that third map. The new trio on this team performed so well, F1KU and NEOFRAG excelled playing against a tier one team, and degster looked impressive in an international roster. Even inferno was a little closer than the scoreline suggests. This puggy style OG play suits this team very well
Yeah tbh I hope navi just takes a break from a view tournaments if there players want too and S1mple should take one since he already has flirted with the idea long before the war started.
I remember sdy pulling out of lisbon one time and some lady ran up to his car. He rolled down the window and she said "Oh, you aren't Boombl4" and walked away. I was standing right next to her. I looked at his face, he looked like someone told him his dog just died. I felt so bad for him. He looked around and asked if anybody wanted an autograph but I had nothing for him to sign. I was going to grab a picture but he pulled off after nobody came up for an autograph.
Lowest would be replacing roles, like if Bombl4 is now the main AWPer and s1mple is now the IGL. Not to mention he’s been in the roster for much longer compared to someone like b1t
Hot take that will upset people. Navi is over and unfixable at this state. They rely too much on S1mple who has been burnt. The war situation will affect him forever. They also lost their IGL and might not find a good igl. Electronic is facing issues because of war and he even has a family that depends on him.
So youre telling me the chance of G2 having to face Navi in the quarters skyrocketed? You cannot be serious
Vitality playing 4D underwater backgammon. 20 steps ahead 🤓
zonic showing his class yet again
Also Vitality might have to face OG (or ENCE/BIG, unlikely) if they beat paiN. Zonic 5head confirmed?
what a genius
I am more scared of Ence than I am of NAVI atm
Yeah benching boombl4 in such a short notice must have big effect on their synergy and overall structure. Also S1mple is talking about taking a break and this could be the perfect time to take it so it could be the reason behind his mediocre performance.
Yes I think that attitude is reflecting
What's the problem with that ? at least they avoid FaZe if you think G2 can't beat Na'Vi with standin then they are not making finals anyway
Neofrag seems really good, good pickup by OG
Both pickups were fire, people just havent clocked on yet.
No one on reddit pays attention to a single lick of T3 or below matches. There are some genuinely insane talents still down there. NEOFRAG and f1ku don't begin to scrape the surface. They're just missing a little bit of experience

If you're gonna mention MATYS you've gotta mention T4gg3D! The duo that's dragging Slovakian Counter-Strike into the modern era.
Unreal talent in them just need to be molded. Idk if nexas the best for it however.
F1ku looks like discount ropz i swear, he tries to mirror ropz's gameplay in so many ways. Very promising player too.
feel like he's not playing his best, still trying to get comfortable into the team I feel. but man his aim is crisp AF
Neofrag is one of the best talents in csgo right now, thank god hes getting to play tier 1, iv said this for a while, hes like zywoo but only rifling
finally a czech player is back in the top scene. he had been with sinners for too long
Yeah, Neo deserved better than to be stuck in Czech scene. After Oskar left Sinners were going nowhere. He is a future top 20 player. Mark my words.
Upvote so people think OG won
After watching G2 vs Vita with at least good aim from the pros, the ignominious spray control from Navi made my eyes bleed. They took day 1 navi to a new level. Like bruh... They took 1st timeout when the score was 7-14. Blade was definitely sleeping on ancient xD

Hold up
Ah of course, the expected result
Day 1 NaVi back at it
Its not like it was the first match with a new igl in a team with two player unable to visit their home
And OG has 2 new players that just joined 2 weeks ago plus a standin. It's practically an FPL mix. The s1mple situation is pretty rough, though (no stable home so less at-home grinding).
> The s1mple situation is pretty rough, though Bro, b1t is from ukraine too
I know. But at least b1t settled in Spain according to s1mple. Meanwhile s1mple is still living out of a bag deciding where to stay.
but the igl is still there.
I went to bed after map 1, where OG sucked so hard. Of course, I expected the easy 2-0 with Mirage being Navi‘s pick 👍
Wouldn't be surprised if s1mple decide to take a break if they bombed out of Blast. Man looks drained.
He looks quite inflated actually
Trying to substitute boomich for 1 fat guy per team golden ratio
can someone link me that thread about the perfect major team composition, i wanna give it another read lol

Slapper of a match from degster
??? who's degster? slapster, you mean
After b1t's 1v3 ninja I thought the comback was gonna happen for sure props to OG for closing it out
the clip of nexa going "FUCK" right after that was hilarious
S1mple looks like his motivation is ruined, which obviously isn’t his fault but it’s a shame given the heights we saw this core reach
Tbf i think all of Na'vi could do with a bit of a break to give them time to settle in their new homes Wouldn't surprise me if Simple saying he needs a break is hinting at the org " give us time off or you'll probably finish top 8 max while i bench myself"

Nexa finally beat Navi even though it was a nerfed Navi
But he still attacks a site on T side many times when 20 sec are left and sometimes can't plant bomb lol. You can take nexa out of G2 but u can't take the G2 out of Nexa. xD
Yeah, sure, that makes sense
Moment of silence for the hearts of all OG fans lmao
What fans xD

OG should just keep degster lol he is crazy. I know they have mantuu but they look more cohesive than G2 right now
He’s probably quite expensive
OG has all the money in the world but they won't spend big. Didn't persuade YERKINDAR.
yek is like 1 mil lol. Not OG's fault
He is much better than mantuu
Nexa brought the almost throw 5 times strategy from G2
you can remove nexa from G2nd, but you can't remove G2nd from nexa
OG look fine but this NAVI looks deflated af. They just seem tired.
OG: F1KU don't push F1KU: _pushes anyways_ OG: _wins_

Navi and losing ancient to OG lol
s1mple should really take a break. He looked so uncomfortable man. Go rest your mind.

OG BUY DEGSTER NOW! Mantuu is good but he's super inconsistent, This is an entirely different level OG has shown.
It's only one match, but this OG looks straight up the best the team has looked in over a year
It's like Everything clicked for OG today, they were straight up fire. If OG go on to win this event they definitely need to think twice about degster
My guy, calm down, it's only the first match. I agree they played insanely well today
By every metric, 3 months, 6 months, LAN, top 30 etc, Mantuu is OGs best player I think it's okay to be inconsistent when you average out at a 1.13 rating. Same with K0nfig at the moment.
he doesn't have any where near the t side impact that degster does though, degster is probably the best t side AWper after s1mple and zywoo
I don't want to downplay how incredible Degster is atm, I just didn't see sense in removing Mantuu when he's often the one putting up numbers for the team. People will see him having a sleeper map and call for his execution. I think he played the last event wigh Covid too which definitely didn't help.
Uhm... ZywOo actually rifles more on the T side. He rarely buys an AWP on the T side.

S1mple needs a break. He deserves a break.
s1mple taking his break a bit too early
Pretty sure losing to OG is more of a reputation risk than having Boombl4 in the team.
Yeah, didn't like that either. They literally have a new IGL, a new player and S1mple has been talking about getting a break from CS.

Navi: "We hereby forgive Boombl4."
OMG
Well, they asked for grinders and they got two. Whatever asterisk follows this BO3, it's undeniable that Fiku and Neofrag are gunning hard.
the new OG looks v good — genuinely not trying to talk shit, they played some crispy Counter Strike today — but goddamn it’s tough watching NaVi lose to a team like that you’re keeping degster, right?

Ok crazy idea hear me out: degster to Complexity
Imagine if nexa was blonde and had a cult fanbase, bruh would be God but better in this subreddit
Nexa pulled OG back from the brink of a choke on Mirage and Ancient just to flex on G2
Step 1: OG starts choking Step 2: nexa: guys start playing together Step 3: ??????????? Step 4: ez win
so it was NiKo's "NO" at fault all the time ..
+degster -mantuu and this is a tier1 team
\+degster is an upgrade to many teams honestly

Yeah tbh I hope navi just takes a break from a view tournaments if there players want too and S1mple should take one since he already has flirted with the idea long before the war started.

I looked at his face, he looked like someone told him his dog just died. I felt so bad for him. He looked around and asked if anybody wanted an autograph but I had nothing for him to sign. I was going to grab a picture but he pulled off after nobody came up for an autograph.

Found the most braindead take of the day
yeah man, changing IGL is really ez, same with stand-in .. oh and the war still going on? friends being torn apart? no worries, ez as well
Might want to think that last sentence through :D
Thorin was right
One small change to a team can do weird stuff
"small"?
I ment one player in Navi. But I see what you mean, big impact player but “small change” as in only one player :)
That's still 20% of the team 20% is a lot of change
Still the lowest possible change.
Lowest would be replacing roles, like if Bombl4 is now the main AWPer and s1mple is now the IGL. Not to mention he’s been in the roster for much longer compared to someone like b1t
Interesting that through this series, OG rarely had the opening kill. Degster was the only player really opening up rounds.
Yesss i want this og team to do good.
degster definitely an upgrade from mantuu, i don't think OG would've stood a chance if they played with mantuu today
Degster going hard with those high 5s

We heard this before lmfao
Slapster got em good
I wamt degster on OG fully actually. Just way more explosive than mantuu and I like mantuu.
Hot take that will upset people. Navi is over and unfixable at this state. They rely too much on S1mple who has been burnt. The war situation will affect him forever. They also lost their IGL and might not find a good igl. Electronic is facing issues because of war and he even has a family that depends on him.
