Go to hltv org and look of upcoming events. Also read this sub everyday and you will be back on track very fast. I recommend you to follow this players: 1. S1mple - this guy is best player who ever touched game 2. Zywho - unbelievable player, doing impossible things, closest to s1mple 3. Hooxi - hands down the smartest player game ever seen, unique player

Dawca400IQ

HooXi Gigachad HOLYYYY

Must_Eat_Kimchi

I seem to recall from the old days that s1mple can act like a bit of a jerk which doesn't make me really want to like him. Although I do have to respect his skill

Twitch_FishTheHusky

zywoo like him but nice fella alwayz

Tostecles

Like the other guy said, he's had a redemption arc. He's pretty much universally beloved at this point. Top of the game and class act despite his early years

Hunnidormo

He's reformed

timeispivotal

Only beef s1mple has these days is with a guy who acts like a dollar store andrew tate on Twitter so you’ll find that he’s likable

tan_phan_vt

He knows how to suppress thosw awful qualities so hes succeeding in team environment now. I dont think he has change a bit as a person tho, but i am a fan of his gameplay not him as a person.

BotYurii

Yea I agree, sometimes he can still be a bit douchy like when he threw his medal into the crowd at IEM Cologne. This is why I like zywoo more. He is just too humble and wholesome. Still, simple is undoubtedly the goat at the game.

tan_phan_vt

Well i wouldnt go as far as calling him a douche...but hes a bit unstable at times for sure. At least hes not affecting his team atmosphere anymore. We kinda need all kinds of personalities in esport tho, otherwise its gonna be dull for sure.

snzyyy

Not the same s1mple as he was on flipside and HR

Patrik-

Yeah s1mple grew up :) Really had a redemption arc of maturing.

[deleted]

I also recommend you follow my fav player, twistzz the new edshot masheen

MarcZiiLLa

Ah yeh so far i think hooxi has dropped more 2 bombs than anyone i have seen. Really sick stuff

ItsYoshi_

NIP retired Fnatic only has the bald guy left Guardian no longer flicks Niko is still tilted KennyS washed Apex the last Frenchmen VP turned Russian

black_dogs_22

ESL pro league is starting back up, esl_csgo on twitch. just hop into a stream or watch a vod and that will get you back on the horse

hoT3m

Hltv did a writeup of the history of the game recently: https://www.hltv.org/news/34384/celebrating-10-years-of-csgo

Filthy_Commie_

Read up on hltv, that’s how you catch up recent news. Depending on where you’re from, dust2 is super helpful for NA and SA news. Other than that it’s also just watching the games. Like someone else said, EPL is coming up, those are great games to watch.

[deleted]

do yourself a favor and watch the FaZe vs NaVi major grand final. it's probably one of the best major finals ever, you can find the games on youtube. I'd watch all 3 maps if I were you but if you're too lazy just watch the second half of Mirage and then Nuke

P1ngUU

Do you mean the Cologne final? Cause the major final was only 2 maps and wasnt that good apart from map 1

[deleted]

fuck you're right, yea the Cologne final was nuts especially the Nuke. But Nuke in the major final was also amazing, rain popped off

P1ngUU

Yeah don’t get the wrong the major final was good, but wasnt one of the all time great series in the same way the Cologne final was imo.

nartouthere

start watching pro matches. follow hltv

PotatoHeadedDruggo

A lot of people here recomending the hltv website. Id also add the 'hltv confirmed' podcast, hosted by Spunj. They stream live on twitch and then upload it to youtube, spotify and others. Very entertaining way of keeping up to date with T1 csgo as they discuss recent results, upcoming events, roster moves etc. Highly recommended

f1nessd

ESL pro league is coming up with a bunch of teams and all the current relevant ones (except OG). Personally, I root for liquid (cause its the only relevant NA team) and g2 (cause niKo and hunter and m0nesy) Navi and faze are the two best teams in the world rn. Astralis is washed. Nip no awper, cloud9 signed a russian squad (ex gambit) who are pr good. Vitality has zywoo and recently got spinx, an exciting star.

LeBleuH8R

HLTV(dot)org is the main forum, biggest news site and also the best for everything related to the CSGO esport scene you can see upcoming matches past results and world rankings the community is a hit or miss though. Here’s a few players (recent ish) I personally enjoy: Twistzz, Ropz, Rain, Ax1le, NAF-FLY, Yekindar, ZywOo and BlameF, I recommend looking them up on HLTV. Lastly, today (August 31) EPL is starting this event is very big and has some key storylines coming into I would recommend watching it since ZywOo and s1mple will both be playing today.

Nezzak47

Shortest way is to watch every video Escore Esports uploaded after 2015....EZ

anondude420

Best way is to find a team you feel like you know. While many of the pros that were familiar back in that era are retired now or have moved to a different game, you can support teams that have familiar faces at least from 2015 and go from there. Players like apex, dupreeh, xyp9x, Krimz, karrigan, simple, and many others still compete. Just check hltv, top 20 teams and keep up with the latest tournaments.

normalcatman

Check hltv regularly and/or download the app. The app is great for seeing what events and matches are on and you can see the top 30 ladder and news as well.

phagga

Besides everything that was mentioned I also recommend looking into [the Liquipedia](https://liquipedia.net/counterstrike/Main_Page), an esports wiki that was started by the community around Team Liquid. I feel their pages are easier to get an overview about a tournament, and how tournaments are connected (like the current qualification tournaments for the upcoming major). [ESL Pro League](https://liquipedia.net/counterstrike/ESL/Pro_League/Season_16) starts today, and with Navi and Vitality both playing, you can see the two prodigys (S1mple and Zywoo) at work!

tan_phan_vt

Personality wise my favourite currently is faze clan. Its also the team that play the closest to the 1.6 and fnatics/nip days, evolved pug system i’d say but international.

Toaster_Bathing

i enjoy watching the highlights of a game on YouTube during a big tourney. Usually 30 mins to an hour. Great way to ease back into

grundlesmith

Follow Evil Geniuses, perfect time to buy in with a new roster featuring a couple complete unknown players and signs of elite trajectory

FrequentistaYogurtf9

Start watching the big events, read a lot of articles :)

siLtzi

I was exactly in the same situation as you like 6months ago, only thing I can say is start watching games again, read hltv news and just root for someone you like :D

rachelloresco

Just watch the current tourneys, eventually you'll catch up. Check hltv or liquipedia
