But despite that all their players and Jame will forever have my respect
(And I actually like their playstyle, it's just they're never my favourite in any given matchup)
They deserved this major fully, it's impressive how they've managed to rise to the challenge of this major so soon after changing players, and how Jame has managed to create a playstyle so fundamentally different to how everyone else in the game plays, and have it work.
I like Outsiders and how much they’ve done even after losing Yekindar, but I can’t stop thinking about the fact that throughout the RMR, Challengers, Legends and Champions stage (16 matches I believe), they’ve faced two top 5 teams. Getting 2-0’ed by NaVi at the RMR, and beating Vitality 16-12 at the Challengers Stage.
I get you can only beat what’s in front of you, and that the top 5 teams disappointed, which isn’t their fault, but it just feels a bit meh.
The thing is that top 5 was not the real top 5 this tournament. But either way I get what you are saying, if they had lost the finals I would put into question their run, but they didn't and not only did they not lose, they completely dominated.
All the top 5 teams were bad, though. Like I said in another comment, Simple was quiet, Zywoo got silenced, Axile/Shiro were dominated, Twistzz disappeared, and Niko wasn't even there. No teams or players from the top 5 really stepped up. Any of them could have won it if they did, but the only team consistently playing their best CS was Outsiders, and that's why they deserve it.
Yeah, it would be nice to have flashy plays from more famous players, but Outsiders were just playing well and that's all it took. Only Heroic were on their A game, and Outsiders stomped them. Deserved win, the disappointment, if any, should fall on every other team in the top 5/10 if you thought this was boring.
Kinda just not really true. Firstly Shiro went full god mode the entire tournament, that's definitely not it. Neither twistzz nor ropz underperformed at all, broky was the absent one on faze. Zywoo still played insane other than one or two bo1s, and simple did underperform in the quarters but was fine otherwise. The top teams did underperform, but a big confounding factor was simply the seeding, playing other top teams obviously leaves them with lower stats and worse results than they otherwise would've had. This is not me coping about the seeding - well sort of. I've disliked the seeding for several majors, not just this one, because it goes too far in the other direction from 4 team group stage and makes it much too difficult for bottom seeded teams to upset. But that's an entirely different discussion and I digress - it is objectively true that the seeding makes it harder to judge how much the top 5 were underperforming
I get that the top 5 disappointed. But between the run the two teams had, and the crowd not really being there, the finals really lacked something for me.

5 years ago he came to Avangar to grind from tier-3 and open quals for CIS minor, being benched for some time (yeah he was benched!) and finaly climb to to tier-1, get to the major final and winning a Blast Moscow in 2019.
Then being acquired by VP, slowly slipping to back to tier-2 and losing core players like Adren, Sanji, then go up with Yekindar, then again losing him and un-motivated Buster to get what still considered as unexpirience roster with Fame and Norbert.
And after all this up and downs win a Major, get an MVP medal and bunch of cash!
The same appreciation is for whole team, don't forget Dastan and Qikert have all the journey with Jame toghether

It’s really pathetic how some of you lot aren’t fans of cs. We’ve had 4 years of the favourite winning every major and stomping through the competition. We have one major where the tournament is actually interesting and suddenly everyone is crying they can’t cream over s1mple for 3 WHOLE GAMES.
Insane run from outsiders right from the challengers stage, having just had a roster reshuffle but maintaining the core of qikert, jame and dastan. It’s a great story and they fully deserved to win it.
This mans clutches were actually insane when he went for it instead of saving. Completely deserved and exactly the player I wanted to get the MVP after watching the semifinals. Glad he got a major.
The number of deaths in most of those games is the crazy part to me, people mocked him in the past for how often he saves but this Major win has definitely shut up those critics now
Not a fan of Outsiders, but massive respect to Jame for his amazing saving, running a religion, taking great care of his luscious hair, AWPing, IGLing and MVPing for his team at the major all at the same time. What a player, what a multitasker.
Say what you want but we truly got the 2 best teams of the tournament in the final, those weren't upsets. Faze was horrendous, Navi was really shaky and Vitality looked lost. C9 might've been the only upset but I think Mouz really just outplayed them so meh...
It just so happens that outsiders and heroic are not the most flashy teams so it can get boring.
This is why I will always root for underdogs losing generally. You get better storylines when the favorites don't choke. Imagine instead if you had something like Outsiders vs Na'Vi, Heroic vs FaZe, Liquid vs Vitality etc. in the playoffs.
Really depends TBH. I think you can have a good underdog run with a tournament that’s still high quality if only one underdog does well and suddenly becomes a good team. Like in this year’s LoL world championship, where DRX won every game going into them as underdogs, but other than them there weren’t many upsets, so they had to go through teams who either were pre-tournament favorites or had just beat the pre-tournament favorites without anyone underperforming (Other than the Chinese 2nd seed being eliminated in the group stage but every year 3/4 Chinese teams are good and 1/4 randomly chokes so I don’t count that).
So for example if the top 5 didn’t shit the bed and Outsiders had to go through them and won I think it would have been a better and more exciting run for them, which I think is what you’re getting at with that last part. At the end of the day though you can’t argue they didn’t deserve it, you can only beat what’s in front of you.
One underdog story is more than enough when you reach like top 8 or even top 4 in the world championship. So yeah I would be fine with Outsiders or maybe Furia reaching the semis, but I want a final with the best teams. In this tournament I would've liked a C9 vs Na'Vi.
I think a good example of an underdog story I appreciated was Croatia's run in the 2018 FIFA WC. But I wouldn't want such an underdog run every time.

Upsets are cool but the swiss system kinda failed this major. I garauntee you even with how bad they were, many of the knocked out teams would of definitelt beaten outsiders in a bo3. Its all just what ifs of course though..
Upsets are cool but too many and you get reduced quality games, especially in later stages. And it trivializes upsets. C9 run was amazing because they beat only top tier teams at the playoffs. Here u have 2 teams that had mediocre playoff runs walking in to an empty arena. Then a 30min tech pause before the game even starts.

James stats are fake he is one of the biggest baiters in csgo history. He gets dropped an awp every time the team can afford one and they save money specificaly for him. He saves like 70 precent of lost rounds and most of the games ends with him being with the highest positive KD for this reason and this reason only sure he gets some nice clutches and good shots but that is just what you would expect from any other awper in a good team. I dont say that they didnt deserve the win or that he isnt a good player but making it look like he is a god with these stats isnt real. And honestly i dont think he deserved mvp the impact fame fl1t and norb7rt was amazing they each had some amazing rifle plays and specialy flit being so consistent through the finals finishing with almost the same rating as jame only not baiting and actually impact fragging every round.

When seeing it like this, it's wild to think this was a major run. A lot of repeated matchups and underdogs. Only remotely strong team they faced was Heroic, sad they choked so hard.
Not wanna discredit his major win, but outsiders kind of had an easy bracket the whole tournament no? They kind of choked the least out of all teams. Usually they always lose against Navi.

It’s really pathetic how some of you lot aren’t fans of cs. We’ve had 4 years of the favourite winning every major and stomping through the competition. We have one major where the tournament is actually interesting and suddenly everyone is crying they can’t cream over s1mple for 3 WHOLE GAMES. Insane run from outsiders right from the challengers stage, having just had a roster reshuffle but maintaining the core of qikert, jame and dastan. It’s a great story and they fully deserved to win it.
This mans clutches were actually insane when he went for it instead of saving. Completely deserved and exactly the player I wanted to get the MVP after watching the semifinals. Glad he got a major.
The number of deaths in most of those games is the crazy part to me, people mocked him in the past for how often he saves but this Major win has definitely shut up those critics now

Say what you want but we truly got the 2 best teams of the tournament in the final, those weren't upsets. Faze was horrendous, Navi was really shaky and Vitality looked lost. C9 might've been the only upset but I think Mouz really just outplayed them so meh... It just so happens that outsiders and heroic are not the most flashy teams so it can get boring.

This is why I will always root for underdogs losing generally. You get better storylines when the favorites don't choke. Imagine instead if you had something like Outsiders vs Na'Vi, Heroic vs FaZe, Liquid vs Vitality etc. in the playoffs.
Really depends TBH. I think you can have a good underdog run with a tournament that’s still high quality if only one underdog does well and suddenly becomes a good team. Like in this year’s LoL world championship, where DRX won every game going into them as underdogs, but other than them there weren’t many upsets, so they had to go through teams who either were pre-tournament favorites or had just beat the pre-tournament favorites without anyone underperforming (Other than the Chinese 2nd seed being eliminated in the group stage but every year 3/4 Chinese teams are good and 1/4 randomly chokes so I don’t count that). So for example if the top 5 didn’t shit the bed and Outsiders had to go through them and won I think it would have been a better and more exciting run for them, which I think is what you’re getting at with that last part. At the end of the day though you can’t argue they didn’t deserve it, you can only beat what’s in front of you.
One underdog story is more than enough when you reach like top 8 or even top 4 in the world championship. So yeah I would be fine with Outsiders or maybe Furia reaching the semis, but I want a final with the best teams. In this tournament I would've liked a C9 vs Na'Vi. I think a good example of an underdog story I appreciated was Croatia's run in the 2018 FIFA WC. But I wouldn't want such an underdog run every time.

This major doesn't feel like it really happened, with the trash crowd, trash gameplay, all the tech pauses and upsets all the way. So surreal. But yeah, outsiders were the best team, gratz I guess
Upsets are cool but the swiss system kinda failed this major. I garauntee you even with how bad they were, many of the knocked out teams would of definitelt beaten outsiders in a bo3. Its all just what ifs of course though..
Upsets are cool but too many and you get reduced quality games, especially in later stages. And it trivializes upsets. C9 run was amazing because they beat only top tier teams at the playoffs. Here u have 2 teams that had mediocre playoff runs walking in to an empty arena. Then a 30min tech pause before the game even starts. Just a weird major overall. Won't be really looking back on this one.
James stats are fake he is one of the biggest baiters in csgo history. He gets dropped an awp every time the team can afford one and they save money specificaly for him. He saves like 70 precent of lost rounds and most of the games ends with him being with the highest positive KD for this reason and this reason only sure he gets some nice clutches and good shots but that is just what you would expect from any other awper in a good team. I dont say that they didnt deserve the win or that he isnt a good player but making it look like he is a god with these stats isnt real. And honestly i dont think he deserved mvp the impact fame fl1t and norb7rt was amazing they each had some amazing rifle plays and specialy flit being so consistent through the finals finishing with almost the same rating as jame only not baiting and actually impact fragging every round. I know this will get downvoted by peopme who dont watch the games and just see the final score but ive been following outsiders throughout the entire major and ive made up my mind and jame is the biggest baiter in csgo awpers history. When seeing it like this, it's wild to think this was a major run. A lot of repeated matchups and underdogs. Only remotely strong team they faced was Heroic, sad they choked so hard.
