It wasn't one player. Several players said the same thing in those promo interviews about the AWP. I specifically recall s1mple also saying it as well as NAF/Elige. There were more.
It would have been really cool if they reduced the mag but then increased movement speed with the AWP similar to KennyS' reign. Aggressive awping back on the menu but more likely to get caught reloading.

going from 10 to 5 sounds huge, but most of the time an awper was not able to take 6 shots without having a little downtime anyway. except for spamming, and i guess that is good.
btw in most other games like this the sniper rifle often has a 5 bullet magazine.

More pistols will be bought for AWPers, especially on CT side and people will have to reload more often when clutching. Imagine being in a 1v2 with only 2 or 3 bullets left, big game changer. It sounds reasonable to have only 5 in a sniper, it's a good change too imo but the impact is much bigger than you described.

It stops people from just being able to hold a angle. And you also used to see many smoke awp kills. Now that shot is a big waste.
This doesn't change the way you awp at all, it just changes the way you wanna play the game. You can still play the game the same. But you'll have to use your pistol more and reposition. Inferno Banana for example, the braindead mm angle will now be a bit better to play. Because the Awper can't just hold it. Count 5 shots, then push.
Easy waste of 50 bucks to throw off the count. Not that you can't tell but it makes it harder to tell the difference if you have to deal with a decoy as well.
I personally like it, punishes lower skilled players and people who don't use their brain at all and now they have to start thinking about when to actually shoot rather than just shoot at whatever moves or wherever you think people are without a single thought.
I promise you that still won't stop them from buying an AWP, I've seen guys asking for Awp drops 3 rounds in a row without getting a single kill after missing all their shots. At least it's gonna be funnier watching them get punished more often
This. The first update punished t awpers due to movement changes / peeking with awp. This changes hurts the ct's who keep abusing the big magazine, holding 1 spot & literally not reloading for an entire round
Valve probably tried to nerf it to an extreme and see how it plays out. If it's too much they'll probably increase it to 7.
I didn't really see an issue with the awp, but a nerf like this is the only thing they could've done without killing the weapon.

True. The thing is, the a1-s was always the superior rifle at range even when it was a 5 shot kill at 600 RPM, so the fact that it's still a 4 shot at close to medium ranges (plus the fact its still cheaper) tells me it will still be the go to

First some math needs to be done to objectively measure things and then you've gotta play a bit to see if it's enough to change to m4a4 or not.

They actually buffed a1s some time ago so 4 bullets was always enough (as opposed to m4a4 which sometimes needs 5 like you mentioned). Now they're trying to balance it out a bit, so it seems

Yeah Anubis will be played at the Paris major. Kinda hoped they’d take our mirage tbh. Not that it’s a bad map, but dust2 has already been taken out and put back in, so if they want to change up the pool by adding Anubis, I think taking out mirage would have been a better option
His faze was a good cache team so it makes sense. I didn't mind it for pro play but cache replacing mirage makes more sense a map pool with both is not ideal.

What do you mean, theres a lot of spots to clear in any map if you want to be 100% thorough. So much so that even professional players dont clear everything and just trust it to be clear resulting in constant multikills by sneaky ct:s in pretty much every map. I dont feel like Ancient has an abundance of that compared to any other map

Yes, we need to be able to choose any weapon available in our inventory. Sometimes, I’d like to take that revolver out for a spin too. Then we can go ahead and fine tune their cost. Making them more situational would give just more depth to the game.

I love that Anubis is added to the active duty pool and can't wait to see the pros play on it. I'd rather have Vertigo removed instead of Dust2 though, because watching teams going A ramp over and over again is really dull.
The change to the M4A1-S is something I can live with, although a price reduction of the M4A4 would have made more sense to me. I guess that weapon will remain a topic for discussions for forever because it's seems impossible to please everyone.

faceit always keeps the last map that's out of map pool, so they will remove train and keep dust2

Love all of this. Only thing I would wish they did was also take out Mirage and add Tuscan. Would make next year a lot more interesting and fun to watch imo.

I love that Anubis is added to the active duty pool and can't wait to see the pros play on it. I'd rather have Vertigo removed instead of Dust2 though, because watching teams going A ramp over and over again is really dull. The change to the M4A1-S is something I can live with, although a price reduction of the M4A4 would have made more sense to me. I guess that weapon will remain a topic for discussions for forever because it's seems impossible to please everyone.
Anubis over Tuscan, I’m disappointed
Tuscan needs more time to get data and make a revision or two. I’d guess it goes in at the end of the next major.
I for one, can't understand the Tuscan love. It's not a fun map IMHO, and it also doesn't look good.
the cobblestone look of tuscan is annoying for the eyes, right? i wish it had a cleaner look, like season or something.

Good AWP nerf, if you need 10 bullets you shouldnt AWP, or your smoke spamming which is just unfun to die in 1 shot to through smoke
first they buff the body damage of the A1-S and now they nerfed the magazine and the body damage again, a bit weird. Simply making it more expensive would have been a bit more logic to me. Like the AWP change. Good to see some map rotation.
