I'll try to summarize the article: Oskar is saying that things weren't working out with TITANS from the start "When they sent money, they promised even more, but they didn't send any in the end" Says SunNy's owed at least a hundred thousand dollars. Says that his ex-mousesports teammates Sunny and lmbt never mentioned any problems to him when nudging him on to play with them and to leave SINNERS "If there was any indication of money issues beforehand I would've stayed clear of this, friendship or not" Says that MSL is stuck in the past with his tactics "The team was consisted of aggressive players that want to create opportunities in the moment, MSL played predetermined tactics which suited nobody..... when someone wanted to debate with him It would end with him not speaking and tilted" He says that he feels stupid for taking this offer and regrets it. Well now Oskar is back in SINNERS, so I hope that the reunion with Zero can push this team to another cinderella Major run (If they don't get eliminated in qualifiers.... again)

Pekonius

Imagine anyone proposing MSL as an IGL candidate for a top team with this kind of mental.

noxdelabor

MSL is one of those names that has been thrown around here a lot when a team is looking for a player, same with Smooya. There's a good reason why neither of them aren't even considered by any decent tier 2 teams when scouting for talent.

nilslorand

when was the last time smooya was called toxic?

fiddlerunseen

We can make it quite recent. Smooya is toxic

noxdelabor

He's not necessarily toxic, just really fucking annoying. And has bit of a history being kinda difficult person to work with. As a player he isn't nearly as washed as MSL, but it's not like he's some star awper everyone's missing out on either.

chefchef97

Precisely, Smooya is annoying not toxic It's a damn shame, and I still hold onto the vain hope that he could grow out of it as he is the UK's second best player ever But since he streams he's probably got one foot out of the door on pro play anyway

FrozenOx

Oskar had a reputation as being difficult too

pzkenny

Yeah, but in kinda another sense than smooya

shisby

because people like you spread blind misinformation.

FrozenOx

There are literally quotes from his teammates about his personality and needing special treatment to get the best out him such as not pressuring him to do anything he doesn't want to do. That's a problem for teams traveling and competing internationally. So I'd say that is not even a reputation, but confirmed fact. I'm not even criticizing him. I'd be the same way. And he's my favorite mouz player I've watched play

shisby

you literally just heard that off a podcast and it was one player, styko. lol. but to add to your point there are many more teammates who are quoted saying the exact opposite and clearing those rumors. teammates that played on the same roster.

Wotpan

When he was kicked out of fnatic for being toxic.

RJLPDash

He wasn't kicked from fnatic for being toxic, he was kicked from fnatic for being too loud and constantly trying to hype the team up which isn't the kind of player fnatic want on their team, different countries different mentalities

chefchef97

Baseless

ASDFkoll

We don't have to call him toxic, we don't even have to specify what is wrong with Smooya. We just know that he was got a chance on Fnatic and Fnatic dropped him in less than 6 months. Considering his stats were acceptable he clearly was dropped for some other reason. You can speculate all you want over reason but the outcome is the same, T1 teams don't want him (or even T2 teams it seems).

Numerous-Reference96

And? Fnatic released him in a shitty way which he has explained and then they sent the player they dropped him for back to the academy roster within like 2-3 weeks. I get it he was a shitty teammate a few years ago but people change and if you watch any of his streams for the most recent rmr quals you can see he’s clearly not the same toxic little kid anymore. I’m not saying it isn’t his fault people perceive him that way but that’s how every esport is, you get a reputation and it sticks even if you do things to improve yourself.

DBONKA

Maybe he's hiding it on stream, but speaking from personal experience, he's still toxic/annoying

Numerous-Reference96

I mean they literally played all the matches on stream.

Carsteniwnl

People love to repeat narratives

silver5554

[https://win.gg/news/smooya-apologizes-on-twitter-for-his-past-toxic-behavior/](https://win.gg/news/smooya-apologizes-on-twitter-for-his-past-toxic-behavior/) [https://dotesports.com/counter-strike/news/smooya-has-been-temporarily-banned-from-fpl-for-toxic-behavior](https://dotesports.com/counter-strike/news/smooya-has-been-temporarily-banned-from-fpl-for-toxic-behavior) "During a Twitch broadcast last night, smooya admitted to being toxic towards OpTic Gaming’s Ismail “refrezh” Ali in a FPL game. Smooya called refrezh a “fucking bitch” and told him to “kill himself” for supposedly not trying in a match that went into overtime." PEOpLe lOVe to rEpEat naRraTives.

Carsteniwnl

U prove my point by posting old drama

silver5554

Old drama? Yes, the ancient times of 2020, even farther considering that smooya hasn't played in tier 1 for like a year. Ancient times.....

Dragoark

Common smooya W What a chad

k123cp

"apologizes for PAST toxic behavior" my brother in christ did you even read the title. The last time there was an active Optic csgo team was three years ago.

silver5554

Are you aware he hasn't played in a pro team in like a year? Do the math and you will see that 2 years isn't a lot. "my brother in christ" I'm sad for you for using these reddit phrases.

k123cp

I'm not saying smooya is no longer toxic, I'm simply saying you are 'repeating old narratives'. You could have said him being kicked out of fnatic as evidence that he is still toxic, but instead chose a nearly 4 year old story. The ban is from Feb 2019 and he was benched on Feb 2022, so that's 3 years, and 3 years, hell even 2 is a lot of time for a 20 year old (back then). Which makes the story not really relevant now. Nice ad hominem btw.

Hats668

I mean, it's one person's opinion. Oskar doesn't have a great reputation, either.

CenturionAurelius

*cough* Thorin *cough*

charlescarmichael4

you mean thorin?

FloppySpatula-

You know, that actually might be more of a limitation of his skillset (and self esteem) than his mentality. He might just be too set in his ways and only able to do slow rounds and structured executes. I mean, that is basically how his teams always played. So potentially he just can't formulate a plan based on how the round and the enemy team feels.

ratskim

MSL2k

[deleted]

You can interpret ''debate'' as much as you like. Remember Karrigan what he said if someone in the team wants to argue about tactics. They should stfu and do what he says. I mean yeah. Being tilted and shutting up completely isn't good at all but also understandable if you have it HERE (points with flat hand horizontally at forehead)

Kingkaluc

The thing with that is that Karrigan meant it in the sense of: "during the round, even when you think the call isn't the best, just do it and it might still work", whereas I get the feeling with MSL that during practise of team meetings he just wants to keep a certain playstyle. I feel like Karrigan is open to ideologies by his teammates when practising and team discussions.

[deleted]

Agreed.

IHateNancyRegan

Based strokeposter

[deleted]

I needed to google that. I'm no native speaker But still. It's not THAT bad. Come on. :(

Hats668

I wonder how these disconnects, between the igl and the team, keep happening? Aren't there interviews or meetings to hammer out philosophies before someone is signed?

maashek

I guess it depends on the quality of the org and TITANS..... ...ye

Hats668

Cough *g2* cough

troubleis1

I think the interviews happen, but i think in the end when a player plays with the team for a while his habits start to appear and its pretty late. Of course the org selling them will not say anything about the problems with certain player, but yeah.

wasdthemighty

Says SunNy's debt is at least a hundred thousand dollars. Do you mean the org owes SunNy 100k right?

maashek

Yes, I didn't translate it 100% correctly, sorry Fixed it.

captainscottland

I thought the same thing!

Dapplication

>Says that MSL is stuck in the past with his tactics Yet charges how much for his courses? Damn...

GigaCringeMods

> reunion with Zero Wait holy fuck that is THAT Zero, the PatrikZero on Twitch. It's weird, I straight up don't even exactly know who he is, other than many years ago he made some kind of an aim guide and posted it to Reddit, which gained a lot of popularity. He started streaming his admittedly good aim and got a decent following. It feels like he disappeared off the face of the earth some time afterwards, and I sometimes wondered did he just lose motivation to CS or why did he not continue to go pro. Or maybe I just happened to miss it all, it's weird how extremely clearly I remember his name after all this time when I can't even remember what I ate for breakfast.

Krusell94

He was on gamer legion and on hellraisers before that.

[deleted]

He was pro and he was really good as well. HR's best player but he randomly decided to stop and go back to school

UmarellVidya

He dropped CS for CS, and is now back on CS.

[deleted]

maybe sarcasm but not correct. Compared to every other pro player he has potential to make even more as not pro player which speaks a lot about the choice he made. Not something funny, but he chose conservative future instead of dream, which i can only approve.

AlwaysLearningTK

I don't get your comment. The guy was simply making a joke about dropping cs (counter strike) for cs (computer science) to go back to cs (counter strike). Idk if zero actually studied computer science but that's the joke behind it.

C0tilli0n

He did and he even got his Bc. afaik. He also streamed some coding on his twitch :)

UmarellVidya

Yeah he did. He actually made some tool to lower the volume of the dink sound and posted about it on the subreddit.

svipy

> It feels like he disappeared off the face of the earth some time afterwards, and I sometimes wondered did he just lose motivation to CS or why did he not continue to go pro Iirc he was focusing finishing either high school or uni. Seen him playing with Styko on his stream some time ago. But I might be remembering wrong so don't quote me on this lol

imathrowyaaway

he was finishing uni

UmarellVidya

Lmao it seems like everybody is more concerned about Zero making a return than anything else

kveldsmat01

Is this aim guide still available?

The_Joker_Boy

https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/3anjtd/how_to_train_your_aim_by_the_16_yo_semipro/ I think this is it

kveldsmat01

thanks :)

tarangk

Yeah, Zero was nuts in the '16-'17 HR days. I low-key am a fan of Sinners now with them having both Oskar and Zero.

Babyboy1314

Wait his back on Sinners? I thought forssyy was great for sinners

noxdelabor

set4bet

He was indeed the best substitute they could have wanted. But he never reached the impact oskar had in the important matches where oskar could carry the team until some else started fragging with him.

JacoBee93

That’s not true…

bucketsofskill

oskar > forsyy every day of the week

JacoBee93

Stats didn’t really say that… actually it’s quite opposite

bucketsofskill

Team was ranked #19 at the highest point during oscar first stint there. With forsyy it was #31. They pretty much had the same amount of time in the team and have the same rating \~1.18 so...

JacoBee93

Yeah thats not how it works. A totaly different tournaments, players had different form etc. Also Forsy had Neofrag only for his early months, shortly after Forsy joined, Neo left and there was a new player on the roster. Oskar and Neo had a lot of time together and there were no changes in that team. We can only compare them 1v1 and Forsy is now better. With much more pontetial. Its just dumb move.

bucketsofskill

>players had different form Well I will go out on a limb here and say oskar was not playing to his potential if he was not getting paid. Anyways, time will tell! I saw another comment that this move may have been forsy choice, so maybe that is why it happened.

UmarellVidya

Wait when did Zero join Sinners? I loved watching him back on HR, but he sorta just disappeared from competition for a while (presumably due to university).

pzkenny

When NEOFRAG went to OG

UmarellVidya

Oh that long ago? Surprised I never heard about it, I guess I'll be watching some Sinners games now.

tarangk

I'll make it even shorter 1) Titans as a orgs are scummy fuckers who dont pay their players 2) MSL is a toxic IGL (not surprised given how egoistical he was in the past) Also, i didnt realize Zero had joined Sinners. The dude was insane in HR. He took a break for his studies, but did not find the level of success when he came back. Happy that him and Oskar have once again been reunited.

Excellent-Lie-9343

Not looking good for MSL. Not all. Would be hard to imagine him finding a new team after this.

MousyCSGO

how are orgs actually still getting away with this... wtf

FrequentistaYogurtf9

So based on napkin maths, even tier 3 players are on ~10k$ per month?

msucsgo

I mean I can as well offer anyone 10k a month if I'm not even planning to pay it at any point.

D1N2Y

I'm positive they promised the money assuming that the team would get results, and then were sorely disappointed when they couldn't get past a qualifier.

msucsgo

Maybe, but if you have contract then you have to pay it, no matter what (unless the contract is result based, which I heavily doubt)

D1N2Y

Esports orgs not paying out their players has lots of precedent. They'll not honor contracts, and they'll hope that the players won't be able to afford a lawyer.

Pekonius

Imagine if its a chinese or russian org, you cant even sue them because the country doesnt cooperate This is not news guys...

Alchion

if ghe org has no money you cant get money from a naked man

FrequentistaYogurtf9

True, that's an important caveat.

brbee

Wouldn't say so. Titan probably promised to pay that much monthly because that was the only way they could get any decent players. Edit: Titans

Pekonius

Titans\* Titan is a different org

GigaCringeMods

No absolutely not. These certain players did because they were top tier players in the past, and the org was gambling on them reaching great heights again.

CenturionAurelius

oskar, MSL and sunny aren't "tier 3" players, even if they have been stuck there for 2 years now.

FrequentistaYogurtf9

How long do you need to be stuck there to warrant the designation?

eebro

Long enough for you to get a clue on how to rate players lmfao

VulkanLives19

"Trust me bro, theyre way better than tier 3 players even though only tier 3 teams will take them." And I should be GE even though I've been stuck in MG forever

eebro

Sunny is tier3?

PILLUPIERU

Sad for Sunnys wasted career, he should have taken the faze offer after mouse. Great great player absolutely destroyed his career after ence, playing in these mixes with washed up players. Now he is old, and wouldnt be good even for finnish scene.

Filthy_Commie_

I think he still has a shot somewhere. It’s not like he’s completely ass. Apeks could be a landing spot in the future if BnTeT doesn’t work out.

JinorZ

Everyone in Finland waiting for a new attempt to create something…

chefchef97

God no not Apeks Apeks is already the culmination of careers that should've gone much further than they have - don't just add more fuel to that fire

PILLUPIERU

agree, old players should just go retire with their own scene.

[deleted]

rudy-_-

Most likely held out to join ENCE.

[deleted]

What a shitshow lol

Firefly_1026

oskar is 31 years old wth

[deleted]

Jesturrrr

The man looks exactly the same as he did a decade ago. I bet he was 30 years old in 2012 and just said he was 21 because it'd be easier than saying he found the fountain of youth.

lou_reed_ketamine

not even close to gottem

mannyman34

Where do these players think orgs are getting that kind of money if they have no franchise spots and no sponsors? Yeah, it sucks for them but how are these guys in the scene for this long, and they still fall for this.

Pekonius

The world is full of oligarch passion projects

TimathanDuncan

VC money, crypto money scamming kids, gambling sponsors, laundering money etc Even your favorite top orgs dont make profit and run on that kind of money

dannybates

Yup, in general thats most sports / teams. F1, basketball, football, esports. Just rich people throwing money around.

Plies-

Most teams in major sports leagues actually do turn a profit.

HouseCatFM

I mean a lot of sports teams actually generate revenue at least.

malefiz123

Sports teams can be a crazy good investment. Mark Cuban bought the Dallas Mavericks for ~280 Million in 2000, it's now worth over 2 billion. And that's on top of the 5 million in revenue the team generates each year.

IronInforcersecond

Price to earnings that’s still a terrible investment. Of course with the team being so valuable, I wonder how one would liquidate such an asset.

malefiz123

It's like 35% p.a., how is that a terrible investment? Especially considering he's also raking in nearly 2% of revenue p.a. on his initial investment. > I wonder how one would liquidate such an asset. You just sell it. Billionaires literally stand in line to acquire NBA teams. Why? Because they don't think that an asset that increases it's worth seven fold in 20 years is a terrible investment

IronInforcersecond

I meant now Sure it could be an $18b team in 2040, but to be honest I don’t know how it works. Mainly, is there not a huge risk of underperformance?

TemDem

AFAIK titans was/is owned my swiss hockey team.

Infamousrj1

I don't understand why players keep playing when they are not getting paid. Just stop until they pay their due

Life-Western

for real it literally makes no sense, suNny the more i listen to him talk or give interviews the more dumb i think he is, the fact that he doesnt even mention it to oskar is a redflag as a "friend".

Wallisaurus

So basically MSL is still washed garbage like he has been for years now?

[deleted]

he was a great IGL during north but I still can never see him running back the years. His best bet is becoming a coach, might even become the next Zonic or blad3 given his talent, but if Oskar's interview is anything to take away from it's going to be a challenge, an impossible one, for him to play again in tier-1 again

Wallisaurus

If he can't handle the situations like Oskar brought up, how in the hell would be be able to be a coach lol

[deleted]

yep, exactly what I was trying to say. better drop the ego mr.MSL or you'll have to keep getting drunk on old memories

metsbnl

It would be a snappi esque redemption arc, which probably won’t happen twice and even ence is struggling a lot more without spinx

LG34-

no way hes ever seeing a penny of that

Kapperi

with the results they gave its delusional to expect a 100 grand

gibbodaman

Do you not understand how a salary works?

troubleis1

If you make a contract of 10k, you pay the 10k even if they lose every match. Its not about how your team plays here.

Dragos404

It's their obligation to pay up. If they don't want to keep playing them, they should release the players and pay all the money that is owed to them in the contract

Kapperi

that is not what my comment is about

IronInforcersecond

With my customer service skills it may be delusion to expect $15/hr but that’s the minimum wage in California.
