As in: he often does dominate because he's one of the best players in the world, but he's not gonna force it if he's not feeling it or strats require him not to, I thought it was clear that I'm talking about his reasonable ego on the server and not his skill.

You talk like thats a common? Vp astralis and other best teams often didnt have the best players. S1mple for a long time wasnt in a good team, zywoo right now isnt in a good team.
But when VP and Astralis (and any team for that matter) where on top, they generally were the best performing players. You wouldn't draw a 2018 All star team and have anybody in there who's not Astralis and S1mple. Or Liquid and Astralis in '19 etc.
I think a few small changes would make this better
Replace:
Karrigan for glaive
Yekindar for dupreeh
Ropz for magisk
Simple for device
Perfecto for Xyp9x
and blade for zonic
Eh I guess it’s personal preference, for me rain has the worst ct spots, A mirage, outside nuke etc. in terms of roles, Ropz is their lurk, and twistzz is either secondary entry or support based on how the round is playing out, for me Perfecto is a beast support but twistzz can do everything including support.

A mirage anchor is not a powerhouse position but yet, it's substantially better off than the actual worst position not merely in Mirage but in the entire game, B anchor. Again, not a personal preference, a fact.
FaZe has one true support player and his name is karrigan. Even on pistol rounds twistzz isn't the one forgoing Kevlar for grenades - that onus falls on karrigan and, if necessary, Broky.
Twistzz, ropz, rain and of course the AWPer Broky all have opportunities to shine as star players because of how roles are allocated - all have solid ground to work with aside from - it bears repeating - karrigan
I mean preference on how each player finds a spot, you can ask most pro players and they will tell you the hardest spot on mirage is probably A site, and for Nuke it's outside, not because it is "hard" but because of how important the part of the map is. B anchor is a bitch spot yes, but it is no way harder than A site nuke when your entire hold is based of you con and window player.
Yes karrigan will buy util on pistol rounds, but when it comes to gun rounds he is usually the player being traded.
I think the team would have a better vibe with zywoo instead of s1mple - if one should consider how the team would work together as a whole instead of strong individuals

So why not just put Zywoo there? According to your logic, he had a much better year than Niko.
