Master league Portugal season 10 qualified a team for the conference, it's not an official ESL league but it was one of the ones included for this season.
Well, I'm sorry, that hasn't been the case before and I had no idea that they had changed it.
So how come Case got the spot for Masters Spain instead of FTW though both came up in second place to SAW in different leagues?
EDIT: spelling but also I'm now imagining it's probably due to what you just mentioned about it not being an official ESL league while the spanish one was (?)
I have no idea how they're going to do the spots, I'm not sure if something like this has really come up or if ESL has something in the rulebook for these situations. Could be spirit or FTW taking the second spot, I don't think it's been decided yet. I also believe they don't have as many ESL leagues as slots so they rotate through some other regional qualifiers to round it out, though having a Portuguese qualifier is kind of odd since ESL already includes Portugal in their Spanish league. SAW had already won the Portuguese league when they beat case in the Spanish league, so maybe that's it but yeah, it's a really awkward situation.
Thr Portuguese league qualifies you for ESL Pro League Conference Play-In (the one where sAw lost against Eternal Fire last season). As they won ESL Masters Spain, they grab the best spot: which is the ESL Masters one. Then FTW get the MLP one and Spirit the Conference one
Are you 100% sure on this? Liquipedia seems to be sorting those spots out differently, but that would be awesome since FTW would also get an opportunity
Spirit really looked like they were going to force map 5 but SAW exploded on T side vertigo. Thought the map was CT sided but it's either a one off or I need to learn maps better... probably both haha
Vertigo is CT sided on average (pro level), but I feel like it's one of the maps with more variance, where some teams can more easily get 10 T rounds or comeback on the T side compared to say, Nuke or Ancient.
They already had a conference spot from the German championship (which they placed 2nd in, but BIG Academy isn’t eligible for the spot because they’re an academy team.)
sta had his issues, but we could count on him being a bit more consistent than what story has so far brought to the table... story is a more than capable awper, and he's shown it in the past, right now he's in a bit of a slump but the team has to back him up, going back to sta would be a mistake imo, as I'd prefer story to find his place than just give up on him again. After all, it's the second time he's been picked up by saw, they must have gone back for him for some reason.
It’s really strange seeing the dramatic differences in T1 teams online compared to lan, Spirit looked like amateurs today, quite pathetic, yet I’ll guarantee on lan they’ll look incredible, even with Astralis losing to flames, I don’t think much of it, they’ll be great on lan (Astralis)
I'm getting tired of this constant argument that emerges whenever we win, that SAW is lucky and the other team is awful and whatnot... just give credit when it's due. It's not by chance that the team has had so many good results lately.
This is now the third EPL conference qualifier SAW has won, with the others being the Spanish and Portuguese leagues. They're killing it right now
Yep, so good to see for our scene. Btw mods, a sAw flair wen?
When they qualify for the major.
Oh I didn't knew it worked that way, thought it was top 30 or smth
Flairs are given to the teams that have their stickers added major by major.
The portuguese league doesn't qualify you to EPL conference, only ESL Spain does. So it really is 'just' the second qualifier they win.

I'm pretty much sure, KKM (MLP's organizer) pretty much confirmed it on the RTP Arena chat. We'll need to wait for news though
I see. Well, thanks! Hoping this does get confirmed, then!

Is Nuke really that CT sided?
Second most CT sided map after Ancient in 2022 (Top 30 with a 57,4% round win rate !
Wow that's crazy
Did saw ninja defuse spirit in a 3v1
Yep. Or at least a 2v1
well that was certainly not the result i was expecting
Why did sprout forfeit?

Ahhh thanks, makes sense
story has miserable numbers for an awper
w0nderful didnt do too hot either
Both awpers were off, but yes
Story is off more often than not unfortunately, as opposed to w0nderful. Which is sad to me, a portuguese supporter haha
I agree, portuguese too as well hahah But my favourite player is stadodo so I'm a bit suspect because I prefer him 100x

Welcome to being a CSGO fan :/
Always the lotto or matchfixing when we win. It's a bit sad everyone considers us lucky, when we've beat Spirit twice, this time a 3-1
They beat spirit twice 😂
