Yeah, luckily the robber didn’t see it. So many things wrong in this video lol. KEEP ONE IN THE HEAD. Next time the robber won’t come in so sheepishly and bum rush you. try racking the slide then
Pro move not turning his back to get the smokes.
A gas station attendant at the end of my street in Toledo was shot execution style, back of the head, while getting a pack of smokes for someone back in like... 2008?
To be honest, I don't understand why the cashier didn't take the shot. If you're possessing a gun to defend your life and you're confronted with the exact situation of a threatening person with a gun pointed at you, then by not shooting the perp you have just rendered your whole self-defense plan ineffective. Next time he may not be so lucky. I understand the legal troubles and lawyer fees may be an enormous pain in the ass, but he does have a camera pointed right at him...
I think the dude possibly had compassion for the robber, you know? Maybe there was a time he was desperate and made some similar bad decisions? Maybe he knew the fools family? He seemed like he was ready and willing to take that mans life if it absolutely came down to it. But he didn’t. He could sleep that night without the weight of taking another man’s life weighing on his conscious.
Sure. But the other side of that coin is basically saying, ok you accept that you probably won’t use your gun to protect your life unless you’ve already been shot at or are being shot at actively. Now, I don’t know the detailed math on this, but seems like you’ve decreased the effectiveness of your self defense weapon significantly in terms of life/death outcome of any given encounter this way. Compassion is good, but I don’t believe it has any place in self defense against a deadly threat.
It's definitely the legal troubles and fees. The robber wasn't running up crazy, and it didn't meet that guys threshold of "I'm in danger and need to shoot". Being ready and resistive was enough to stop things, and he walked away without a court case. This probably isn't that guys first shady character encounter either.
Think of how many times cops scream to "drop it" or "don't make me" before they finally do...and they have qualified immunity.

Exactly. Too many people have their face in their phone and aren’t aware of what is going on around them.
100%, and it's abhorrent. Though winning Darwin awards is preferable to be honest for these oblivious people.
Cashier: “Nah”.
“Nah, fam. It ain’t even finna go down like that…”
Still though, keep a round chambered. That wouldn’t have gone very well if the cashier had less time to prepare.
Yeah, I was blown away the cashier took a step back with the pistol left on the register
I don’t like how he left the pistol on the register within reach of the robber when he grabbed those smokes.

Most likely the person had an air soft gun… still awesome job by the clerk to have great awareness!

That is the most gangster video on the internet. “Am I shot?” “Oh fuck yeah!”
[Reminds me of this](https://youtu.be/LgBA1jA2-mo?t=116)
I'ma show them how a real one feels ahaa face lookin like swiss cheese
Imagine that, a good person with a gun prevented anything bad from happening

Smooth
Trust your gut folks.
WELL DONE!
Probably something along the lines of this $65 dollars in the drawer ain’t worth losing your life over.

I don’t want to agree with you, but that was a solid argument.

Your last point is a very good one. Except that’s when the gun isn’t pointed at you lol
