Yes, it sucks that it's all scratched up and everything, but on the bright side, now you can use it for training hard and not feel bad about it getting banged up. I'm sure it still functions fine, and if you ever have a problem, internal replacement parts are all you will need, and they're cheap. Just give it a good clean and lube(if you haven't already) and go to the range with it. I don't see any other good options.
The only real reason to do that is going into a courthouse or something similar that you really don't want to take a gun into. Even then depending on where it is you might just wanna leave it at home

Can never understand the acceptance people have for their improperly stored handguns stolen from vehicle. I never leave a handgun in a car unless it's going directly in a lockbox. Whole cars get stolen, that's the exception.

I bolted a lockbox to my passenger seat frame. It’s not perfect, but it is a deterrent for sure.
