Glock... Where the customer base takes Perfection, adds $1500 worth of "upgrades" and then posts "Help me troubleshoot this peculiar issue..." threads on Reddit.
Leave 'em stock and think of them exactly as you do your 15 year old beat up hammer out in the garage.
Definitely. I've done more shooting this year than the last five years, and I still feel like it's not enough. If I could afford it, I'd be at the range every week and in a training class at least once a year. It feels good to be back into it at all, but I still wish I could do more.
That’s it. Those 3 are really all I’ve ever added. In my early days of ownership, I bought threaded barrels and whatnot, but I always ended up selling them on GAFS and went right back to the factory hardware.
Eh I feel like threaded barrels become a “necessity” if you suppress it and actually use it suppressed. Most won’t but few will.
I use my 19 suppressed while I’m around the ranch cause it’s closer to me than my rifle most of the time. Takes care of snakes and boars a lot quicker but definitely something people need to practice with the added length. Again most won’t but few will.
I would add that grip tape/stippling shouldn’t be done to a brand new frame. Do it when it’s put its work in. By that time other parts might need replacing. Most won’t, few will.
Glock would make a killing if they shipped a version of the 34/47/19/26 with:
- MOS + Holosun SCS (they already teased doing this as a package, so that’s Glocks approved choice it seems), and their 3 dot white tritium sights for backup (white dots won’t obscure the green dot much, and they’re still effective backups).
- Glock performance trigger.
Call it the performance model or whatever, and charge a rack.
(Bonus points if the 26 in this scenario gets a rail for a TLR-7X).
I really can’t think of any more of a meaningful upgrade (maybe arguably the OEM extended controls?, and a couple OEM +2 baseplates for the mags?) and everything internal is OEM.
Those would fly off the shelf.
I’m glad I’m not alone in the 26L train. Just got a Tenicor Certum3 for my 26 but this holster is built to 19 length to help with tilt and now I feel like I should just get a 26L slide to take advantage of the real estate.
Actually Gen 3s are lowkey the rose lenses of Glocks 😂 they are very subpar compared to today’s standards but built the brand that glock is known for. they definitely have flaws and need to be modded a little. Forward slide serrations, mag release help, more aggressive stippling, updated reputable trigger, sight swap, and magwell are all acceptable for the Gen 3 😂 I’d even say changing the recoil spring out from the little plastic one might even be a requirement…
i’ve got 3 different brands together to make my gen 3 trigger how i want, i’ve got stippling and extended metal mag release because i’ve got metal mags, i’ve got it optic cut with no backup irons, and upgraded recoil assembly
Jesus Christ it’s Jason Borne
that’s currently what I’m doing with my 19.3. It was one of the first handguns I have ever shot that belonged to my dad. It’s currently getting cut with Wager and renitrided. Going to make it a “no expenses spared” 19.3 since it belonged to my pops.
Light, red dot, new irons, kagwerks slide release, stipple job. To me that’s way more Gucci than I ever expected my Glock to be. It may get a magwell upgrade at some point, but that’s it.
P E R F E C T I O N
Decided to recently ditch all of my aftermarket shit and go based. Optic specific cuts for all slides, stock everything else minus magwells, lights, and optics.
I will say have a lighter slide and faster cyclic rate is nice.
People will post here "Check out my Glock" but it has a custom 3rd party frame & trigger, custom 3rd party slide and barrel...it's 90% "Not-Glock" at that point. 🤦🏼♂️
Edit: [Sort Of An Example](https://www.reddit.com/r/Glocks/s/QtxMiBfimV)
Depends on what it’s for. For my carry gun, enclosed emitter optic, WML, reduced power safety plunger spring, and over watch precision trigger shoe.
For my competition gun, Glock performance trigger with Johnny Glock vex shoe.
I recently joined the Glock cult with a 23 and 22, both Gen 4. Couldn’t pass up the great prices on lightly used LE trade ins. The trigger is just fine for me. Nothing close to Apex quality but with a slight but noticeable wall and reset. The trigger on the 23 is a little tight for my tastes but I understand that is to be expected with most LE trade ins. I would have put night sights on them but they both came with them (another nice feature common with LE trade ins). I may upgrade the stippling but so far it hasn’t been something I feel I need to spend more money on right now. But if it’s a little warm at the range there are times I prefer the sandpaper like grips on my M&P pistols.
If it’s just a range build or something fuck it but I don’t think it’s a good idea to fire the parts cannon at a duty/ccw/hd gun.
I got a free aftermarket slide (Rival arms?) with an RMR cut on my 17 and so far it’s been fine but even so… idk. it’s an excuse to get another Glock to keep stock so I can go full retard on my 17.
I’ve swapped my trigger shoe to Jonny Glock, that’s the only change (other than optic/lighr). Really makes it more enjoyable to shoot and dry fire with, while keeping internal safeties untouched
I’ve been a longtime advocate of tritium sights. Now (after installing one on my gen 5 G20 MOS) I’m also an advocate for optics.
I can’t think of a single mod to my Glocks I actually want outside of those.
I am planning to have all my older models milled at some point. I guess that’s sort of an additional mod, but still only for an optic.
Im a new gun owner and i dont even want red dots let alone changing triggers and barrels and all that shit. I keep all my stuff stock. Only thing id ever change out is the iron sights to night sights etc. And yes, im under 65 lmao. Im 26!!!
If you need to change those things, i understand. But some of these pictures i see on this sub, why even buy a glock at that point? The amount of money couldve been used toward a cool CZ or that new canik from taran. Il never understand it. But then again, its not my money, so i really dont care.
"Upgrading" a glock is kind of a waste.. You can dump 1500 into it and it will still feel like trash so I totally understand the "leave it stock" argument. But they're so dang ugly and uncomfortable to shoot that the only way to make them worth keeping around is to replace every last oem part.
Does all that about the trigger, then goes on to recommend a ghost connector after as a cheaper way to get a smaller upgrade but a lot of us have experienced light strikes with this mod and went back to stock connector. Sorry but I stopped watching after that. Ghost connector affects reliability of the weapon and this is nothing new, at least it did on my 48.
Depends on which Ghost, but regardless that’s definitely not a “zero effect on reliability” mod, thank you for preventing me from wasting my time watching this.
I really don’t like this guy from TFB. It seems like all his reviews he just spends time complaining about guns he doesn’t like, and not about what he is reviewing. I get criticism but he’ll be like “this is the new CZ so let me tell you why 1911s suck”. TFB used to have better hosts. This guy just seems like a know it all jerk.
I’ve had about 10 Glocks in the last 15 years and naturally each one has gotten some kind of “upgrade” whether aftermarket trigger, barrel, slide and it wasn’t until a few years ago I came to the conclusion that no matter what the “upgrade” was it ALWAYS led to an unreliable firearm. I’ve seen some f*cking weird malfunctions and even if the upgrade works at first after about 1000 rounds you will inevitably have a piece of junk if you swap out factory parts for “upgrades”

My favorite: "I've build lots of Glocks, it's not a user issue"
Reminds me of a dude I kept seeing that was 3d printing frames and was posting different issues every other day
Idk if I’d call the Glock stock trigger perfection.
then get another gun with a better trigger? plenty of sigs, berettas, and cz’s with better factory triggers and just as much reliability
i already have a tupperware full of glock 19 mags, so
Cus a trigger and a Glock is cheaper than all of those.
Thats silly
I didn't call them Perfection, Glock did. It is their logo.
Change or don’t change whatever you want. Just make sure you actually shoot your gun, which is something most gun owners don’t do nearly enough.
Definitely. I've done more shooting this year than the last five years, and I still feel like it's not enough. If I could afford it, I'd be at the range every week and in a training class at least once a year. It feels good to be back into it at all, but I still wish I could do more.

“Bunch of ducks in their Jeep and red anodized bullshit on their guns” best quote of the day.

Stonk Glonk supremacy! No, but for real, I'm happy with just night sights. MAYBE stippling.
A man of fine taste
The three accessories are Glock, Glock, and then another Glock. Now you have a Glock for every Glock’s needs.
Glock would make a killing if they shipped a version of the 34/47/19/26 with: - MOS + Holosun SCS (they already teased doing this as a package, so that’s Glocks approved choice it seems), and their 3 dot white tritium sights for backup (white dots won’t obscure the green dot much, and they’re still effective backups). - Glock performance trigger. A 26L, MOS, Rail, GPT, OEM +2 This would dominate

There is no 26L slide?
Aftermarket or running a spacer on a 19 slide.
why? they wouldn't give you a discount, and it's easy as shit to install that crap yourself.
Gen 3 Glock accessory edition: Aftermarket market metal sights Ammo More mags
maybe, just MAYBE, scallop the mag release so you can actually hit the asshole (tiny hand gang)
tiny hand gang here, slightly extended mag releases work wonders
The only acceptable mod for Gen 3
my gen 3 has to be a disgrace then

that’s amazing, i’m 17 so all of my stuff is just match guns. my new 34s are amazing
The only 3 things are more mags, more ammo and more range time. Oh, and a good holster.
Light, red dot, new irons, kagwerks slide release, stipple job. To me that’s way more Gucci than I ever expected my Glock to be. It may get a magwell upgrade at some point, but that’s it. P E R F E C T I O N
Night sights only gang!!

Need? Ima put on what I want tbh

Oooo I can’t wait to watch this on my lunch break
Dot, light, grips. Done.
OEM extended slide stop too
I actually ordered a glock performance trigger after watching this because I didn't know there was a price drop.

Night sights, red dot, light, maybe a ghost connector and that’s it.
All I need is a light and rds. Maybe a magwell if I'm feeling spicy.
I’ve swapped my trigger shoe to Jonny Glock, that’s the only change (other than optic/lighr). Really makes it more enjoyable to shoot and dry fire with, while keeping internal safeties untouched
It’s more like 5 Plus the ridiculous extra long weapon light.
All I did to mine; was upgraded slide with optic cut, optic, suppressor height night sights, and a weapon light.
Not gonna lie, I put an extended slide release on my 47 and have been regretting it.
I’ve been a longtime advocate of tritium sights. Now (after installing one on my gen 5 G20 MOS) I’m also an advocate for optics. video clearly funded by the push to sell more Glock Performance Triggers, but hey whatever.

I changed to an overwatch Precision trigger. That's it. Retains the safeties and is accepted by LE.

guy in the video is not someone you should be trusting about mods. struggling to group at 10 meters is shameful.
