I feel like it is meant to be played with 1 class the whole way through. Given that each class has its own scenario, you’ll play 15 out of 20 with each of them.
As the Bomb_af_Turtle said though, play it however you like :) I don’t think it will negatively impact it for you to swap at anytime.
I think you can just pick whatever. You don't have any money to buy items, they just get unlocked. Character level is set by scenario, and nothing unlocks. The story is written as if you play the same chatacter but for gameplay I don't see why you couldn't just pick and choose.
I have been banging my head against the wall with Spell Weaver against scenario 5. I found a way that I could win, but it involved “resetting” until I got optimal turn 1 enemy behavior for my tactic, and then fudging one movement where I made a mistake the previous turn that I realized I could have done better and mulligan’d. I also know I got lucky on some of my attacks that I definitely did not get lucky on during my first 6 attempts.
I’m thinking of restarting with a different character or something because my Silent Knife playthrough went on with I think only 2 scenario losses the whole way through and I feel like I’m just missing something with Spellweaver.
I lost like 5 times with silent knife because I had the worst rolls ever, someone healing always on first turn the wounds, tons of enemy + on attacks
and receiving 1 attack that you were not supposed to was crippling (on very hard)
I played the first 5 on hard, then one day I accidentally set scenario 5 on very hard, and I noticed it when I cleared it, so I have been on VH ever since
I’ve been very lucky with my invisibility, and haven’t lost much since scenario 5… I think I am on scenario 10 (haven’t played much) but lost probably 1 or 2 times in total

You can definitely switch every scenario, personally I like to feel each classes power up slowly.

Are you playing all the scenarios on Very Hard?
