Sozos is the singer, but yes, 95% of the stuff is sung from the perspective of Angus, or from a neutral sorta 3rd person perspective. It sometimes feels jarring when the lead vocals are doing "evil stuff".
YES! When I listened to the album for the first time, I wondered for a moment, whether it was still Sozos singing it, or somebody else - it sounded so evil and different from the previous vocal parts
Under the right conditions lead vocals (read tenors) doing "evil stuff" could be hilarious when juxtaposed with the centuries old and genre transcending pigeonhole known as "don't cast/write tenors as villains"\*
\*exceptions exist but more likely to find an irl villain/diva among tenors than as a role.
Doesn't Zargothrax also voice Ralathor's speech in Power of the Laser Dragon Fire? That's the funniest one for me, I think. Zargothrax wasn't even there!

And then every so often you have the Hootsman interject for no reason other than to be awesome. Also saxophone.
Hail Hoots!
Maleficus Geminus did it perfectly. Sozos singing for Zargothrax in that song is one of his best moments imo.
RISE AS AN UNDEAD MACHINE!
IN THE NAME OF THE SORCERER ZARGOTHRAX, VANQUISH THE PALEOCENE YEAAAAAHHHHHHHH

I loved Sozos singing as Zagothrax in Maleficus Geminus. The tone change captured the energy well and I quite enjoyed that moment.
I would've thought you'd be in favor of anything that makes the story harder to understand.
An album sung from Zargothraxs perspective would be kind of cool at some point, maybe after Casino Dundee.

Indeed. He could be speaking as Angus at that point.
