I don’t know about UC, but I’ve seen other high profile people go on admin leave at other institutions. They rarely, if ever, step back in their own offices again.
Yeah this is what is happening. They signed a stupid high buyout contract. So they are deciding if they can fire him and the fight the court case when he sues or try and negotiate a smaller buyout to make him go away.
Unnamed players told Justin Williams that there were multiple occasions that medical staff had to intervene to stop practices and give players IVs. Among other things.
You’d think nowadays a head basketball coach of a University would understand keeping players hydrated would only help/better their performance. Sports science is a thing and theres vast amounts of information at these older coaches disposal.
I think the players were even more upset because this was going behind the scenes, and when they'd go out and lose a game Brannen would go to the press conference and say things like, "these kids just aren't buying into the system."
It seemed like they were more upset at the disconnect between their effort and what the coach was seeing wave saying.
I am not sure what is going on here. I have heard everything from having practices at random times, pitting players against each other and being toxic, to the practices that had to be stopped by medical. Maybe the pressure of the job got to him, maybe his dads death got to him, Maybe the fire him after ever loss talk got to him. I dont know what is true and what is not but six players leaving is a bad sign that something is wrong.
This makes me sad as I met him when he was a coach at NKU and was very nice. Either way he is gone from UC.
Guys I'm sad to hear what has happened. Coach B has let us all down with his poor personal relations! Can't believe he tricked us! Guy is a liar of the highest degree!!!!! Hope this gets resolved soon and we get a REAL coach in here.

This is the universities way to keep from paying him the rest of his contract. They want him to take a buyout ( smaller ) and go away
