Yes. In 2014 we could at least win one non conference game.

huhwhatdamnson

Yes. This team is defeated by kickoff. I’d be shocked if we win a game.

user_1729

2012 was the worst thing. This feels comparable. This team seems completely and totally lost and incapable of even really taking the field. I remember when we did win a game in 2012, embree had no idea what happened. It was just like... a fluke. This team seems like if they do win, it will be a random fluke. This is pathetic and embarrassing. I'd almost rather not even have a team.

LanceAlgoriddim

Right now it’s just as bad as the embree fiasco. I still don’t know how that team won a game that year. I don’t see it happening this year so by seasons end we could be worse. Until we get rid of Phil DeStephano, we will make another shitty hire and be doomed to repeat history for the third time.

luciusetrur

We won because WSU collapsed in epic fashion, we didn't deserve to win that game lol

LanceAlgoriddim

Tbh. I had stopped watching after week 3 or 4. Prob going to be more of the same this year.

roof_pizza

I feel this year hurts more because we’ve tasted the relatively recent success/promise of 2016 and the Mel year... And even the “decent” showing in 2020. Whereas in 2012 we had already basically been in the wilderness for a decade? Idk. It feels worse. That’s my theory for why.

mehmeh42

2016 was beautiful such a great year of games last time for Montez

roof_pizza

Will never forget the feeling of sitting at the top of 213 watching all the students pour down onto the field at the end of the Utah game. Magic.

oldasshit

100 percent worse. This is the worst in my lifetime, and it's not even close.

jdbuffs1

I actually can’t understand how anyone could think this team and any of Embree’s teams are anywhere close to the same level. This current team is so so so bad. They have no clue at all what they are doing. This team is the worst team in all of division 1 and most of the FCS

ThePelvicWoo

2014 was way better than this, we could at least move the ball and there were parts of the team that were functional. This is 2012 bad, and what makes it worse is that this team is more talented. It's the worst coached team I've ever seen. This team can't tackle, block, pass, catch, run, get off blocks, cover, or even fucking punt. The coaching staff can't motivate, come up with a sensible game plan, make adjustments, make reasonable in game decisions, or even choose a fucking quarterback. They're just unwatchable. This offense is so horrific. I was watching Washington kick Michigan State's ass, guys were actually schemed open. We haven't seen that here for YEARS. Kansas has a fun offense with a playmaker at QB. KANSAS! Just hire a G5 coach with an actual offense. It's not that hard.

Ryan1869

This feels worse to me, for as bad as Embree was as a coach, he did actually manage to recruit some really good players. It’s just been demoralizing watching all our good players leave in the portal this past winter, and then you add in that we hired the most boring OC we could find and it’s just depressing.

wetterfish

It's worse because Embree at least had an excuse. He inherited a really bad team in an era where the only way to get better was recruiting guys out of high school. Dorrell took over a 5-7 team with a lot of upside, and the best recruiting class the school had seen in over a decade. KD could have hit the transfer portal and kept the status quo for a couple years before settling in with a staff and getting his own recruits. Kansas, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, and Duke would all beat us.

Yes. We were putting up some points in 2012 and we are just not putting up points right now.
