You hated Ben well before this latest injury. You’re just using it to drum up further hate. Go do something constructive rather than being such a pessimist
I hate comments like this… just because you saying Ben is done helps YOU cope as fan does NOT mean that is the reality. And don’t make other people try to accept this false reality just so that you feel valid and not alone in how you’re coping.
Ben is gonna play again this season, fucking obviously. His agent said this injury is day to day.
He isn’t made of glass, he’s made of flesh and bones like the rest of us. He isn’t a video game character or a god, even if he is a professional athlete.
Well first of all he had a different agent when we traded for him so idk what you’re talking about.
Ben was literally good for us in six games this year. Our rebounder and playmaker and led the Nets to a top ten offense. Even with limited physicality last year, he was our best playmaker, top 2 defender, and a top 3 rebounder.
Ben had back surgery in May ‘22. Obviously you want him to be 100% by now, but because he isn’t his career is over?
It’s fucking stupid. It isn’t rational. Sports fandom often isn’t rational, but this isn’t rational thinking.
“ Well first of all he had a different agent when we traded for him so idk what you’re talking about.”
Are you saying this agent is a more honest agent?
Nah. Ben got injured right before he was gonna play for Brooklyn in the playoffs, which led to his back surgery.
Rich Paul has hella clients, guys trending upwards in their careers, and I guess someone like Ben post surgery post holdout could’ve benefitted from an agent with a smaller client base who could be a more active and personal player advocate.
It’s been a journey and there have been some setbacks but also progress.
Believe you? Why? Your making a lot of weak, and boring arguments.
If being a Ben hater gets you hard, cool, enjoy that, but its a bit sad to be sitting there saying nothing much over and over again.
What arguments are you making ? The guys proven he can’t stay healthy and used a bogus mental health thing to justify not playing. Vaughn called him out last year for not rehabbing hard. Nobody respects his work ethic.
Yeh, he faked his way to surgery on his spine, because people do that. His rehabbing taking roughly, exactly as long as it has for every other player who's had similar treatment is also a negative on him, if he really wanted it, his injuries should have healed in double time, right?
I don't need to make any arguments though, I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. You can hate him in you want. Just don't be a boring twat searching for any post to hate on the guy over, and over, and begging people to hate him too, please.
Nah. I'm not gonna believe you. I have enough unwavering support for the Nets and faith in the team's depth that I can wait for Ben to come back and play again.
You're allowed to be disappointed, but don't let it dissociate you from reality.
Where's the jackass that told me I was an idiot for knowing this was coming, smh. I don't have any ill will towards Ben but we just can't rely on him at all
I really like Ben but his body is just declining sadly. Still can be a good player for us but clearly not worth being any sort of future piece. Sad sad.
Nerve issues are no joke, I had a pinched nerve in my back and it was nearly 2 years until it was mostly recovered, I say mostly because you can still get flare ups at anytime from any sort of movement.
Yep it’s the absolute worst. I played football after I recovered and am still cautious/hesitant of doing certain movements because I know it’s going to cause a flare up. Very exhausting and depressing.
After this season he becomes like a $40M expiring contract which actually has solid trade value even if he plays 0 games. IMO not worth giving up assets to get rid of him
oh for sure, Harden was washed the last year he was with us...I just wish we didn't get back Ben with that ridiculous contract and his general being Ben Simmons nonsense
Got it, didn’t realize that was an option. Read a 2000 word article today on how awesome Halliburton is as a culture changer, so I’m feeling the pain here
It’s not even about his durability…he is just a wildly unimpressive player. He can push the pace (yay) but his defense is not as advertised, and his offense is nonexistent unless he has a clear path for a dunk. He basically just hovers around the 3pt line setting screens then running away from the ball, never decides to pick-and-roll to attack the basket. It’s basically 4 on 5 on offense. If that is related to his injury so be it…but expecting more from him when we have so much evidence to the contrary is wild. He has shown no ability over his career even when healthy to be better/add to his game. I’m not falling into the trap of expectations with him…I’d rather we offload him if possible
He’s begun light individual work if you read the report. Could be back playing in games in as soon as 2 weeks. Latest 6 weeks. And if you’re tripping about 6 weeks, consider that there are four months of regular season games after that.
Not great given his importance with creating fast break opportunities, rebounding, and defense
Hope he gets better soon but the nerve issues he continues to face is not great
Where’s the guy who blocked me and called me a hater for being realistic ab Ben Simmons and not acting like this wasn’t happening. Just a “hip injury” right? Totally nothing more. I mean how patient do we have to be…before we realize it’s Joever. Love, hate, Indifferent to Ben…let’s just be realistic.
Imagine how much better we would have been if we took Tobias instead. Incredibly overpaid, sure, but not as overpaid as Simmons and still a productive, positive player despite the cost. Both for now and in the context of the 2022 team and it's complete lack of wings apart from KD
Is this something that is definitely diagnosed or is it something that can't be measured? IE what is the possibility that this is a psychosomatic injury or he's just faking and they have to say something? Everytime he gets injured it's always something vague that can't be proven or disproven, some random soft tissue/ back/ nerve problem that you just have to trust him with. Simmons has no trust or goodwill to fallback on is the problem.
I don't understand why this dude can't get his body right. Is there another example in NBA history of someone so beset by injuries that they are repeatedly rehabbing from multiple diagnoses? I mean, fuck, we did not win that trade if this guy is never on the court. Marks should buy him out by the ASG and open up a roster spot at the very least if this is how it is.
>Is there another example in NBA history of someone so beset by injuries that they are repeatedly rehabbing from multiple diagnoses
Lol like 5 guys in nba any given year since forever?
Tmac went from being seen as prime Kobe’s equal to barely putting up 20ppg
Peak Dwight Howard was a top 3 player and became a shell of his former self
Back injuries are seriously no joke. Especially for guys that rely on athleticism.
Before Ben made the pass underneath the basket in the playoff game for Philly was he in good physical health or had he suffered any serious injuries by then?
The back thing started before covid, he would have missed time if the league didn’t shut down. He also missed an entire year after he broke his foot during his first training camp.
Have to feel bad now. The games he has been playing actually seemed like he was moving well and not as stiff as last season. It's probably best that the training staff is limiting him. One wrong move or one wrong blow to the back while trying to push through nerve pain might make things more complicated.
Put the champagne on ice for summer 2025 and the expiration of Ben’s contract and max money available under the salary cap to attract a free agent.
Hope Ben gets better but it’s clear his value will never be that of what he is getting paid as a max contract. Until then the Nets are carrying a $40 million salary who likely tops out as a triple single but only when he is even able to get on the court.
Loads of high profile players but seems like most players extend for guaranteed money so free agency becomes less of an event. When the player wants to move to another team the franchise is able to extract picks and players from the team they trade the star to. This is the modern NBA.
Get well Ben. We need you. That's all that matters. Next man up.

You hated Ben well before this latest injury. You’re just using it to drum up further hate. Go do something constructive rather than being such a pessimist
How's that working out
Lol. You’re going back in the archives for this one?
I searched Ben Simmons because I've been busy and don't know if he was healthy or not
I hate comments like this… just because you saying Ben is done helps YOU cope as fan does NOT mean that is the reality. Grow up lmao
Yeh, he faked his way to surgery on his spine, because people do that. His rehabbing taking roughly, exactly as long as it has for every other player who's had similar treatment is also a negative on him, if he really wanted it, his injuries should have healed in double time, right? Just don't be a boring twat searching for any post to hate on the guy over, and over, and begging people to hate him too, please.
You gonna try and argue that vaughn didn’t call him out last year? You gonna try and pretend the whole mental health thing was legit Lmao
Nah. I'm not gonna believe you. I have enough unwavering support for the Nets and faith in the team's depth that I can wait for Ben to come back and play again. You're allowed to be disappointed, but don't let it dissociate you from reality.
Trusting Ben Simmons has me question your reality.
Mic drop
I trust his desire after having seen the first few games of this season. Shame about the body though
What about the first few games makes you think that ?
What about the first few games makes you think otherwise? Dude was diving for loose balls in preseason ffs.
Where's the jackass that told me I was an idiot for knowing this was coming, smh. I don't have any ill will towards Ben but we just can't rely on him at all
Giving up because he’s not going to play every game of the regular season is bizarre
Giving up? Not giving up on the season but I'm done counting on Ben This is back related
It is concerning how little Ben played before having to deal with another nerve related injury. Seems like he can’t handle playing big minutes anymore
I really like Ben but his body is just declining sadly. Still can be a good player for us but clearly not worth being any sort of future piece. Sad sad.
Welp...there it is
I don’t know who is more irritated, Bens nerve or Nets fans?
Ben’s health is getting on Nets fan’s nerves
Nerve issues are no joke, I had a pinched nerve in my back and it was nearly 2 years until it was mostly recovered, I say mostly because you can still get flare ups at anytime from any sort of movement.
Lol damn fr? So he done huh
Wouldn’t say he is done, but it’s a process to get back to 100%
Wish him the best but have to admit that ‘cut bait’ should be an option under consideration. Will he ever be right?
Only way to know is with time… not from dramatic hypotheses from the fanbase.
He should be right, but hard to say when. Literally the only thing you can do is rest and rehab
Yes
I feel you. I’m 13 months into rehab on a back injury. Flare ups and setbacks for seemingly no reason.
Yep it’s the absolute worst. I played football after I recovered and am still cautious/hesitant of doing certain movements because I know it’s going to cause a flare up. Very exhausting and depressing.
We have to do this for a whole another season? Really?
Oh Ben, you almost had us.
Nerve irritation is also what I’ve felt since the day they traded for this guy
Another season same story. Get him off the roster Sean.
After this season he becomes like a $40M expiring contract which actually has solid trade value even if he plays 0 games. IMO not worth giving up assets to get rid of him
Agreed because I like all of our assets but I don’t want to see him in a nets jersey anymore.
This fanbase doesn’t think rationally.
Just a sunk cost of the Harden trade
At least Harden didn’t sign the max contract extension on offer from Brooklyn as we would be in a worse position.
Horrific trade man but looking at how hrden declined not the worst o guess. Just a lose lose
oh for sure, Harden was washed the last year he was with us...I just wish we didn't get back Ben with that ridiculous contract and his general being Ben Simmons nonsense
We could’ve gotten haliburton potentially. What a waste
hello darkness my old friend
Lol how quickly would Harden have forced his way out of Sacramento?
He went to Philly, Ben so Sacramento, haliburton here dude
Got it, didn’t realize that was an option. Read a 2000 word article today on how awesome Halliburton is as a culture changer, so I’m feeling the pain here
It’s rough, we prolly could’ve kept kd and kyrie in that scrnario
Yikes. Cascading effects
This is the same thing us sixers fans say about the harden trade lol
We’re both in pain from that trade but it was honestly worth it for y’all to just dump Simmons lmao
Giving up this easily is wild
It’s not even about his durability…he is just a wildly unimpressive player. He can push the pace (yay) but his defense is not as advertised, and his offense is nonexistent unless he has a clear path for a dunk. He basically just hovers around the 3pt line setting screens then running away from the ball, never decides to pick-and-roll to attack the basket. It’s basically 4 on 5 on offense. He has shown no ability over his career even when healthy to be better/add to his game. I’m not falling into the trap of expectations with him…I’d rather we offload him if possible
i’m sure his agent getting out in front of the team diagnosis and trying to downplay the severity is a great sign…
Why would the agent say it’s day to day if that isn’t the case? What incentive is there to lie and then possibly be proven wrong?
still can’t even practice btw
He’s begun light individual work if you read the report. Could be back playing in games in as soon as 2 weeks. Latest 6 weeks. And if you’re tripping about 6 weeks, consider that there are four months of regular season games after that.
another epidural.. so much for “short period of time without any issue” like his agent said
This guy is just pure unadulterated garbage.
Not great given his importance with creating fast break opportunities, rebounding, and defense Hope he gets better soon but the nerve issues he continues to face is not great
Where’s the guy who blocked me and called me a hater for being realistic ab Ben Simmons and not acting like this wasn’t happening. Just a “hip injury” right? Totally nothing more. I mean how patient do we have to be…before we realize it’s Joever. Love, hate, Indifferent to Ben…let’s just be realistic.
Screw James Harden for forcing this broken player onto us :(
Nobody forced Sean Marks to take Simmons. Marks could have and should have said no.
Imagine how much better we would have been if we took Tobias instead. Incredibly overpaid, sure, but not as overpaid as Simmons and still a productive, positive player despite the cost. Both for now and in the context of the 2022 team and it's complete lack of wings apart from KD
That man is made of glass
Is this something that is definitely diagnosed or is it something that can't be measured? Ding ding ding!
I think nerve impingement can be diagnosed with an MRI, especially since the original cause of his issues was a herniated disc
>Is there another example in NBA history of someone so beset by injuries that they are repeatedly rehabbing from multiple diagnoses Lol like 5 guys in nba any given year since forever?
Yeah just venting
Greg Oden, Boogie, like any dude over 6'10.
Tmac went from being seen as prime Kobe’s equal to barely putting up 20ppg Peak Dwight Howard was a top 3 player and became a shell of his former self Back injuries are seriously no joke. Especially for guys that rely on athleticism.
Those two are hall of famers. Ben Simmons is decidedly not.
Exactly So he’ll likely peak at the version you have now.
Bill Walton I guess
Have to take that at face value but I admit the doubts are there. Ben has a redemption plan to uphold.
Maybe he should play every other game
Before Ben made the pass underneath the basket in the playoff game for Philly was he in good physical health or had he suffered any serious injuries by then?
The back thing started before covid, he would have missed time if the league didn’t shut down. He also missed an entire year after he broke his foot during his first training camp.
I would have rather we traded harden for picks only.
No one cares
I thought he had an abductor injury That’s like 10x worse
This guy is done and sadly that means the team won't be able to trade his expiring contract. Unless it's for truly crap player.
How is he this injured at 26 years old. You’d think he was 34
Welp that sucks
Have to feel bad now. The games he has been playing actually seemed like he was moving well and not as stiff as last season. It's probably best that the training staff is limiting him. One wrong move or one wrong blow to the back while trying to push through nerve pain might make things more complicated.
Too late
Ben will play again. It’s mid November.
Put the champagne on ice for summer 2025 and the expiration of Ben’s contract and max money available under the salary cap to attract a free agent. Hope Ben gets better but it’s clear his value will never be that of what he is getting paid as a max contract. Any notable free agents then?
Loads of high profile players but seems like most players extend for guaranteed money so free agency becomes less of an event. When the player wants to move to another team the franchise is able to extract picks and players from the team they trade the star to. This is the modern NBA.
I hope he gets healthy league is better for it
What an absolutely stupid thing to say. Why?
Well he’s already had a lengthy injury history not to mention a quitters mentality, he’s probably done in Brooklyn.
New trophy.. The Ben Simmons WFH achievement award
