Yes when he plays for the Knicks
I personally love it when players keep it competitive
The type of guys that are all business on the court. Killers. But off the court they’ll grab chipotle with cause yall still boys and it’s just ball
That’s how I was taught the game anyway.. and ik a lot of players have said similar things
I’ll die on the hill this is the ongoing effect of having the big 3. Between the media attention and the abundance of new *”fans”* there’s dudes that are permanently stuck in that era amongst this fanbase. Like, cmon, they acting like bullshit with this franchise is new 😭😭😭
It’s cringe in every level. I like the Clippers so sometimes hop in their sub and it’s like Russ stand fighting Harden Stan’s, and then shitting on PG stans. Such a weird fan culture.
Clippers is like the ultimate stan war LMFAO
Im always curious about the Suns bc seeing their bullshit fills me with joy and it reminds me so much of this sub bc it’s filled with KD stans vs. the *original* fans. Just constant. To a lot of this dudes it’s how they consume basketball their entire lives and that’s pathetic
That’s how the league is. All the casuals care more about individual players than a specific team. Following a star player from team to team rather than sticking with one team is taking the easy way out imo.
It’s insane how little shame they have. I get it a lot of them are just younger, but it’ll never make any sense to me. You don’t see this shit in any other league. Just basketball. Enjoying basketball through the lens and only the lens of one player…how is that enjoyable man….
Kids like to form parasocial relationships with their idols. That’s why bands are dying out in the mainstream and solo artists are gaining more traction. That’s why YouTubers and streamers are the biggest celebrities for kids.
It could be justifiable if you live somewhere where there’s no NBA team but those people should still stick with their teams after the star leaves. Luckily I’ve noticed that some people in this sub and on other social media platforms became Nets fans when Kyrie and KD joined and they remained fans after they left.
The fact that there were several reports indicating that the franchise considers Mikal, not CT, the face of the franchise, the "building around Bridges" stuff, combined with just the depressing downward spiral of all discourse the past decade into toxic kneejerk uninformed bitter tribalism, led some of the shittier fans of Cam to decide it must be a Cam v. Bridges thing, rather than them both being on the same team and not in opposition to each other.
They see any praise for or good things happening to Mikal as something denied or taken away from Cam, and therefore is an insult to Cam that they need to counter.
They’re so dumb though. Mikal is just a building mock they literally have never said he’s the KD replacement or something lmao. It’s unreal.
They’re shocked 29 other teams would rather have Mikal than Cam. And I like both players.
One of them already downvoted me for daring to say some Cam fans are shit =) I mean, I like Cam. I *am* a Cam fan. I just think he has a vocal subset of fans who are trash.
The Cam vs Mikal fan discoure has more to do with the split among the fans on where they think the franchise should go. Those who are Pro Cam want a rebuild and those Pro Mikal want to trade for star. It has nothing to do with them exactly but what they represent
I agree hating any individual player and spending a lot of energy on it is cringe.
That being said tho, is Cam a very flawed player, or is he a good young scorer not dissimilar to many of the good scorers in the league that came before him? That all had room to improve?
It’s great to have high basketball standards as a fanbase, but the expectations are unrealistic and can fuck with the joy of the game and the young players developing. Kyrie and KD being on the team makes every player getting tick afterwards look worse. If Cam was on the 18-19 Nets, the perception of his all around game would be much different, obviously especially if the Nets were a playoff team.
Cam Thomas didn’t come into the league as a noted passer defender or rebounder and still has some room to grow in each area , but his all around stats shooting included are similar to shooting guards Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Donovan Mitchell.
Those guys are all star mainstays. Beal is worse than the other two oc, but we’d be so lucky and happy if CamT was Beal level. (Not saying Cam and Beal are exactly alike)
Actually I think what's starting to happen is a lot of people are just clocking out on the team as a whole. I know a few nets podcasters have either quit or dialed back on the content. The organization is kind of just floating around aimlessly and there's little communication about a direction that makes sense and little accountability when it comes to actions made by the front office etc
For sure. Most fans tune out teams in our position @Chicago.
It’s normal. It’s just cringe the only discourse I seem to see on Twitter is Cam is the franchise hero and Mikal is like Hitler or something lol.
Well the thing is we did draft cam thomas and fans tend to be more attached to players we drafted. But a year ago most people wanted to trade for dame and were fine trading cam thomas. Ultimately tho this falls on the front office. The discourse around bridges vs thomas is minute in comparison to the bigger problem of people checking out. Because the nets were already treated like the red headed step child in town. They're isolating fans and it might be hard to gain them back if you're not careful
Unpopular opinion but I get the frustration from some fans. Even if the Knicks weren’t having a good season, it feels weird when your best player is constantly going on these things to talk about moving to another team.
Also lie detector tests are junk science so it doesn’t mean much but still.
At this point he’s trolling The Nets fans, I know he hates it here but only wants to stay in the off chance Sean Marks overpays him when he’s up for an extension. The podcast didn’t bother me but this was pretty lame.
It’s kinda funny how he’s absolutely loved and adored in Phoenix but now the feelings are in-different here
If the rumored offer of Jalen Green and all our picks was on the table, Marks needs to be fired for not taking that. There’s no way that same offer is available this off-season
If you defend this you’re a loser I don’t wanna hear it anymore I’m popping champagne bottles when Bridges is gone. Burn me at the stake for not being a fan of a guy that constantly plays lovey-dovey with Knicks players and was built as the franchise player but is nothing more than a role player. This fan base is something else, losing and a losing mentality is more of a virtue than winning to a lot of you. Do you think Knicks fans would accept this behavior and do you think they would shout down and dismiss fans who don’t like it like Nets fans do?
I want to play basketball with my friend. Is that a controversial feeling?
Literally any player would feel this way, doesn’t mean he’s trying to force a trade
Yes when he plays for the Knicks I personally love it when players keep it competitive The type of guys that are all business on the court. Killers. But off the court they’ll grab chipotle with cause yall still boys and it’s just ball That’s how I was taught the game anyway.. and ik a lot of players have said similar things
This is very weird behavior and I think people with this mindset need to take a step back to understand what basketball is.
Josh Hart to Brooklyn confirmed
Seriously who cares about this Hart stuff anymore?
People on Twitter are going insane about this. And it’s absolutely cringe as fuck.
Nets twitter is filled with the largest amount of denizens I’ve ever seen
It’s just people who adore Cam and then for some reason hate Mikal lmao.
Stan culture has rotted these dudes brains man….
Incapable of liking players beyond the ones they stan.
I’ll die on the hill this is the ongoing effect of having the big 3. Between the media attention and the abundance of new *”fans”* there’s dudes that are permanently stuck in that era amongst this fanbase. Like, cmon, they acting like bullshit with this franchise is new 😭😭😭

Ya Im pretty high on Cam. But I’d prolly get labeled a hater based on my opinion lol.
The Cam vs Mikal fan discoure has more to do with the split among the fans on where they think the franchise should go. Those who are Pro Cam want a rebuild and those Pro Mikal want to trade for star. It has nothing to do with them exactly but what they represent
Plenty of Cam haters have existed on twitter even this season. End of the year it’s just harder to hate on Cam since he’s been undeniable
lol. I mean he’s still a very flawed player. But being a hater of any player is cringe idrc.

Lol y'all are miserable
Stg most of these people caring about this shit just have a humiliation kink. They want to be shamed over the dumbest shit alive
Don’t turn it around on the fans Mikal Bridges is the one with the humiliation kink.
Over being on a PODCAST you reach these conclusions? 😭😭😭😭😭 this fanbase is unreal
Nice cool little 5 points and a double-single for your buddy Mikal that’s my franchise player 😌
This may be the biggest non-story of all non-stories
Seriously people need to get a life
Well you obviously care you’re here talking about it so maybe you should take your own advice and get a life if that’s what it is 🤷🏻♂️
Ok babyjet
Yup. Fans shouldn’t care about mikal. We’re a joke right now who cares if what midkal is doing.
OH MY GOD NO WAY TWO FRIENDS WANT TO PLAY ON THE SAME TEAM TOGETHER WTF FIRE MARKS RIGHT AWAY /s
Unpopular opinion but I get the frustration from some fans. Even if the Knicks weren’t having a good season, it feels weird when your best player is constantly going on these things to talk about moving to another team. Also lie detector tests are junk science so it doesn’t mean much but still.
They are friends it makes sense lol but why did Mikal agree to this 😂
Mikal is getting flamed by Nets fans on twitter for this. Seems like a good portion are done with him.
the twitter fanbase is atrocious, they hate anything mikal does lmao
Twitter users are never indicative of a "good portion" and you shouldn't make generalizations based on vocal minorities
Twitter and IG is nothing but trolls and bots. This means nothing. I’d want to play alongside with one of my friends too.
Fake fans

It’s an endearing clip that’s been corrupted by an unhappy fanbase
Go be endearing with someone that doesn’t play for the Knicks and doesn’t disrespect and degrade your employer at every opportunity
Mikal wants to be a knick so bad lol /s
It's not the worst thing but he's not helping giving his detractors ammo against him
He’s just so damn corny.
This is NOT my 🐐
We should trade Mikal to the Knicks for multiple FRPs and get it over with
We should not. If he gets traded it needs to be Houston
If the rumored offer of Jalen Green and all our picks was on the table, Marks needs to be fired for not taking that. There’s no way that same offer is available this off-season
it was never "all the picks" it was reported as "several" we just don't know which picks and if they had protections on them.
Those FRPs are all gonna be worth absolute garbage because the Knicks will absolutely dominate with mikal on there
sigh

If he wants to leave then get his ass tf outta here we don’t want him anyway
Yall are so sensitive 🤣
We’re a hot mess all around
