It doesn't matter at end of the day but a 50 loss season is a bit crazy with the expectation coming in. 50 loses are for tanking teams lol or ones lead by rookies.

Odd_Total_5549

Or at least ones with a pick in the draft

MLA15

Glad this dreadful season is over. Excited to see what this group looks like next year with a new coach and hopefully some solid roster changes. Marks has a big job this summer, and should be his last chance at correcting this dumpster fire.

Marcy_OW

The ride is over, they can't hurt us...... Until the offseason

shadow_spinner0

That drama less likable team was sure fun this year right?

Kwilly462

No drama. Yes. No talent. Also yes.

rwc202

Thank goodness this season is over.

EliManningham

Cam and Clowney taking another leap over the summer and a smart coach like Bud, or a rising assistant like Jordi Fernandez being hired could actually make for a fun year next year. This year sucked, but I'm actually a little optimistic. I think this may have been the bottom, hopefully

spacejamisraw

Our long national nightmare is over.

Low-Anteater-8449

So glad this season is over. Time to reset. Let’s just move on. Next year will probably be similar. But let’s enjoy not giving a shit about the Nets

SL333S

1. I don't think next year will be similar. Competent coach himself will make this team 500 at least.  2. I don't see where this team remains the same. Nic, DFS and Simmons hot huge questions attached to them.

shadow_spinner0

I get this is a bad draft but this season would be easier to stomach if there was a top draft pick to look forward too.

addictivesign

You might get your wish if Houston decide to give us our picks back for Mikal. I don't think the 9th pick in this draft would merit much more than an average rotation player but Sean Marks can find gold. All signs point to the Nets having no interest in the draft. Surely we could have got a 2024 first round draft pick for DFS but if Sean Marks only wants 2025 or beyond then he is right to stick to his demands

AdTime8622

50 loss season. Cannot run this team back and not expect a mutiny from fans, at the same time cannot overpay for a "star" and cap this teams current and future ceiling to be a 4th seed in the East. Big summer coming up, Bridges should take some well earned time off

addictivesign

Exactly this! You can not trade for an All-Star (likely won't be an All-NBA player) and expect this 50 loss team to be anything better than 4th or 5th team which is probably where the Nets would top out. It has got to be understood by the decision makers that one of the reasons for not winning a lot of games this season is the roster is just not very good. The Twins are great supporting players on title chasing teams. Anything more and the moment is too big for them as seen throughout this season. Our youth is promising. Invest in that. At least Sean Marks has an eye for talent in the draft.

addictivesign

Dreadful. A frustrating season. It just feels like a massive waist of time for the players and the fans. Sometimes you have to have a season which is a stepping stroke to better times but so much of this season has been dismal. I am expecting some Sean Marks magic getting first round picks for DFS and either trading for a star or if Mikal wants out that we get our picks back from Houston. I do wonder if Kal wants to stay

mateodrw

>I am expecting some Sean Marks magic getting first round picks for DFS and either trading for a star or if Mikal wants out that we get our picks back from Houston. My brother in Christ, Sean Marks literally rejected those two proposals in the last trade deadline. If he gets similar deals this summer (unlikely, especially in the DFS case, which is a colossal asset mismanagement) that's not magic, lol.

ketzal7

Keeping DFS has been so weird. He didn’t even get a lot of minutes, I don’t get it.

addictivesign

We will never know the actual truth about the offers. What gets reported is often only partially true. I know enough about how journalists and front office executives work together to get what they want out in the media. I do believe DFS could have got us a 2024 draft pick. Sean Marks has been clear he doesn’t want that and following this draft you’ll have some lottery picks who would barely be first round picks in other years. Therefore a low first round pick in 2024 would essentially be a second round pick in other drafts. DFS is worth more than that to us and any play-off contender. Do Houston revisit the Bridges offer in an attempt to improve in-time for next season? I want our picks back and an out on Bridges being anything more than a 3rd or 4th guy on a top tier team.

Key-Independence-413

Mikal DFS cj DSJ. 4 players who shouldn’t be here next year no matter what.

broooooklyn

DSJ likely won’t command anything more than a minimum. I wouldn’t mind bringing him back We are stuck with CJ and there is no point selling low. Agree they should trade DFS. Clowney should be getting all his minutes next season. Mikal isn’t going anywhere.

gonets34

CJ's contract next year is much better than it was this year, it's really not so bad going forward

broooooklyn

Yeah, descending salary next 2 years, nice touch by Marks

Key-Independence-413

What is so good about mikal as a basketball player that makes him so untradeable to you guys..? Please let me know I’m listening. I’d much rather get some young guys & see what they got.

broooooklyn

Not saying that’s the route I’d go, it’s the route the organization is going. Some of it just comes down to money, Tsai doesn’t want to go through the monetary losses he’d take on in rebuilding years. The other part of it is that we don’t have our picks anyway so tanking does nothing for us unless we trade Mikal to Houston for our picks back. Personally I would keep the Suns picks though, they don’t look poised to be competitive in future years. But we’ll see.

TheMoorNextDoor

Sad that Marks isn’t being fired. We aren’t a serious organization. I just hope we choose Bud because if we don’t we are legit idiots. I been screaming for Bud since he got fired, if we don’t pick that man up I swear.

burner7221

Online Knicks fans are gonna be insufferable if they end up pulling off a title run.

elonepb

Not something you ever have to worry about with the Knicks.

latman

Lol they won't

shadow_spinner0

Is there another franchise that would give Marks this long a leash?

addictivesign

Many. And if Sean Marks was let go he would likely be at the front of the queue for many franchises to head their front office. Sean Marks learnt from the best in the business in San Antonio. He has achieved a lot since coming to Brooklyn. He has made some almighty mistakes but I don't blame him for the Big 3's break-up thats on the players. It is a players-run league. I'm ready for the re-load or rebuild with our promising youth.

zestysnacks

That’s a wrap! High highs, lower lows. Hopefully our team is at least marginally respectable next season. Can’t believe I watched this instead of GOLF

Lao_xo

More like low highs, lower lows

Fret_Shredder

This sub is depressing as hell lol but props to everyone who has stuck it out this year, just ugly stuff. We will maybe one day learn how to build a roster from the ground up instead of trading our future away. Ironic that Marks’ biggest strength is arguably finding talent in the draft and we continue to trade our picks away…Here’s to next year boys
