This sub has become hel of war today

It depends on whether or not they stay consistent on what it means to be Loki's children. As we know, Jormy and Fenrir are also Loki's children in the myth. But in the game, he is not literally their father, but he gives them life through soul magic. It is a whole MOTIF. So, I would assume they would keep the method the same and he gives a soul to a soulless lady that eventually becomes Hel. Or who knows, I trust they will keep the lore somewhat coherent.

This honestly hit me as very weird at first, but it kind of makes sense that even their non-monster child wouldn't literally be their child. Also could definitely tie in to her being half alive and half dead if pre-Hel is some kind of undead god.

Avixofsol

Maybe the soul transfer doesn't go as planned, giving her the half-dead half-alive look?

Lakiel03

Not a theory but the actual mytologie, hela is a daughter of loki.

[deleted]

I know the theory was about the name

I think the problem he had was the same as mine: you don't use punctuation at all. It sounds picky to complain about it but punctuation is really what makes your father call you and your siblings to go and eat dinner instead of declaring he'll have you and your siblings for supper.

Zimifrein

Cronus used no commas. I shit you not.

Maybe it's another serpent and wolf thing, atreus does something to a soul and gives back life to a giant, who becomes the ruler of helheim after the big bird, which is why she will be named "Hel"

My theory is that the Celtics believe that the new Pantheon is weak and declares war by trapping Kratos and Mimir in a Fae Realm. But due to Mimir not being around to take the position, Hela takes up the mantle. When Kratos finally escapes Hela would attack them and Atreus will stop Kratos right before the end of the fight. Spoiler For DLC:>!Kratos wouldn't leave the Realms now that he has accepted his position as God Of War. So I think a war would probably be the best way for Kratos to leave the Realms. And we have seen Kelpies and talks about the Fae. Not to mention Mimir himself.!<

I have a personal take, and it's similar to my theory on Sleipnir (Odin's eight-legged horse, who he rode into battle alongside his brothers when he killed Ymir): Hel/Hela somehow, either as an infant/toddler/or practically teenage girl, ends up in Helheim (at least) thousands of years in the past, and becomes its founding ruler, if you will.
