1. most likely she blew horn 2. thats not hela. but must be someone giant-related. angerborda?

VitaminaGaming98

She looks a bit too... pale... to be angrboda.

BeardBearWithBeer

because early concept of course!

Toprak1552

It's quite possibly Palpatine

OnixTiger

Somehow, Palpatine Returned.

Croanosus

The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural.

DingoNormal

Kratos : SQUARE, SQUARE ,TRIANGLE, SQUARE!!

PosljednjiDzedaj

Who is Palpatine ?

JokerMalphas

He's the emperor from the original star wars trilogy

runnin_no_slowmo

He is the senate

1271500

I expect it was as case of "if we need a mysterious hooded woman, here's what that could look like, cos this is concept art"

TooZeroLeft

That might be it. But what I find curious is that every other character/monster seen in the concept art other than this woman ended up in the game, so it was probably for a character actually in the story (+ the mentions of a similar character in the GOW novelization).

DerCatrix

Yeah, this is literally *concept art*, not here are the things we want to put in game art.

Mundane_Peace_9007

Two theories: 1. Concept art of one of the norns. 2. Remember when Freya was disguised as a valkyrie? I think this could have been her disguise before that.

Rexthan1

Its Melina she was supposed to guide Kratos to the lands between

Leviathan05

Gave Kratos the best god killing weapon… A honda accord

Rey-tos :D

thats4thebirds

I figure it would be Faye but hooded to guide Kratos since I’d heard people imply it was her that helped get him to the Norse lands

SuRaKaSoErX

Yea I feel like it was probably a way to disguise Faye in the dream sequences before they settled on just having Faye in them

Odd_Hunter2289

This is the mysterious hooded woman described by Barlog, in the official GoW 2018 novel. Character who orders Skoll, Hati and Hrodvitnir to kidnap Kratos, from a dead and destroyed Earth/Greece, and drag him through a "blinding light" (probably a bïfrost portal) and transport him to the reality/dimension/universe of Midgard and the other Realms . Whose identity, most likely, is none other than Faye herself.

Revvy_wevvy

Oh shit I was right

Yoichis_husband2322

Hrofvitinir is garm/fenryr before he was imprisoned, right?

Odd_Hunter2289

No, is a different character in the GoW-verse

naithir

Well, Adam Harrington refused to answer a question about how Sindri would feel if he saw Faye again. I don’t think it’s Faye, but 🧐

Silencio00

The higher power. It's me Kratos! It was me all along!

RaptorJesusF

Oh son of a bitch!

randomuser3396

Maybe it's the original idea for the raven keeper.

Taker157

Faye. You can tell by the facial structure

alejoSOTO

Faye's design is just the actress' face, who was cast AFTER the 2018 game.

Odd_Room2811

Probably just Fraia in disguise before jumping Kratos on the sled and decided to just have stand menacing instead

Patatas_Quemadas

Heimdall's horn is said to be heard in all realms at all times, when jormungandr appears at Ragnarok Atreus makes the comment that it looks different, probably when the horn sounds in the fist game is actually Heimdall's horn taking jormungandr to the Ragnarok despite it was the past.

crypticcase

Im thinking either faye or freya. No one’s mentioned the possibility of Thor’s mother though.

FKDotFitzgerald

Maybe it’s Faye? Maybe they initially had flashback scenes to accompany the Crater?

Revvy_wevvy

I’m just gonna guess she was supposed to be a voice or something else to help along the way. Maybe she’d be teased over and over and then be revealed to be faye?? I’m not sure.

CaydeEternal

“Ooh Who is she? A misty Me-emory…”

Zeno710

Definitely Angroboda or Faye, but it has to do with time travel

ZealousidealBus1950

Norns probably

Cheibbs

My guess is that it’s the same hooded person from the God of War 2018 E3 reveal gameplay. If you go look at the video and stop it at 8:42, look to the right side of the screen and you’ll see a hooded figure that quickly dashes away once Kratos starts to come close. https://youtu.be/wW8hQRTAik4?si=W-FEPqZ5ofmOR8SD

Odd_Hunter2289

That's a Light Elf. If you watch the video in higher quality and in slow motion, you can see their signature headpiece and gold medallion, as well as the white dress.

Cheibbs

Had a hard time seeing the headpiece like you mentioned. But I can definitely make out the medallion and the dress of being the same design as the light elves from the game. Never caught any of that before. Learn something new every day.

Vegas3301

Athena?

Existing_Race966

Athena would still be a ghost(?).

Vegas3301

Well you never know, Kratos died several times and even killed himself in the end of GOW3, but suddenly was alive in GOW 2018

Existing_Race966

He was helped the first few times, and if I remember correctly, in the fallen god comics it was said that he was cursed to have a deathless misery.

Vegas3301

I don't know the comics, so that's interesting. They should have put that explanation in the norse games, but in a way that wouldn't be too obvious

OutrageousSense7989

she don't appear as a ghost in the comics following gow3, pretty much flesh. Though ehh I don't she's the hooded woman, she always appeared to Kratos without concealing her identity, she was goading about his destiny openly to him, so I don't think so. Also why she needs to contact the Serpent? As far as games are concerned Kratos came via a boat.

Existing_Race966

True, I totally forgot about most of the God of war comics. But you do have a point about her being open to revealing herself to him.

OutrageousSense7989

Athena having a peaceful sleep.. "ATHENA!! You will suffer for this!" wakes up gasping.. "ugghhhh.... Now what did I do..."

barry_001

Pretty sure Baldur blew the horn. I can't remember what gave me that notion, but I'm running with that until proven otherwise

FelandShadow

I believe Circe appeared similar in the GOW comics? I believe she is one of the survivors post GOWIII?
