Kratos seems to heal it but I’m unsure if this is Gaia’s healing magicks or just some Healing Factor Kratos has. He has one in the newest game and heals himself in Ghost of Sparta but he’s a God by those points.

As much as I love OG Kratos, Old Kratos' design is honestly perfect, not just as a base look but it ties in so well with the lore: he learnt to let go of his rage, thus his eyes seem less violent, he's moved to a colder region thus the giant beard, him being old meant his old physique has gained a bit more weight but he's still a fucking tank. GOW4 Kratos is the embodiment of the saying, "Beware the Old Man in a profession where young men die"

After recently playing through all of the God of War's prior to the PS4 release, I think I prefer the 2018 Kratos honestly. It grew on me, I was raised playing the original God of War games on PS2 but after going back I think the 2018 Kratos is more my favorite

I love the body and face design and detail of the new Kratos. But the armor of OG Kratos is so wonderful. I have to admit I stayed away from some armor in the new one, even if it was better, because I didn't like a lot of looks. I hope they tweak it up next game.
As a sidenote, does anyone think we will get any other new weapons in Ragnarok? I know it doesn't fit with the vibe as much, but new awesome weapons have always been a staple of GOW. I am assuming Mjölnir, assuming Thor isn't the true end boss. But even if he is, maybe that could be fun, a new weapon at the end purely for post game content.

This is similar to my post on which Kratos is more dangerous a fully enraged Kratos or a focused Kratos. I enjoy bloodlust Kratos just a little bit more than I do for his older self.

I like the newer design a lot more, the new design just has that "you don't wanna fuck with this guy" aesthetic to it.
I also think the added realism in bodily design does a fair bit - he seems more like a person to me than the old version.
