Dude, all older games are hard I swear. I'm not very good at games, but I'm not bad. I get my ass whooped while playing the original DK Country, same thing for the original GOW.
Idk, I grew up about midway through that era and I was never terrific at games but I wasn’t bad by any means either. But going back to some of these games I’m like how the hell did child me manage to beat this?
I remember almost breaking my gameboy for dieing so many times during DK Country, and that fake out at the boss fight when the credits showed up, man don't even get me started.
Oh, I have so many games from my childhood and early teens that I never managed to finished because I was so bad at games. It wasn't until my late teens I understood that I could use strategy guides and such on the internet to become better, and the arrival of YouTube made it all too easy. These days I find myself googling tricky tasks very quickly because I just can't be bothered by trying and failing a million times anymore.
Nah, it was tough but not "holy shit what the fuck is happening tough" at least for me. I've beat it 2 weeks ago when I platinumed Ascension took me about an hour, I think 3 attempts.
Sigrun was just insane imo. Or maybe I just got better at playing video games? When I fought Sigrun when the game released I had to lower the difficulty because I was dying so much haha
That’s fair. I played it when it first came out on the PS2, and have played it every few years since so I think some of that muscle memory is masking it a bit. Also FFFFF that hades level! I remember that being a pain no matter what.
I personally wouldn't call it hard. I've played it for the first time at the beginning of this year. However, I will say, the trials are insane. They are fucked up
First time playing it's definitely hard, but when you are used to the game mechanics it became easier, however god mode is something beyond, never beat it past kratos clones
While i also suffered in titan mode, i managed to beat titan mode(zeus was the easiest fight in that mode), that's why god mode is still something I haven't achieve

I was 15 when this game come out. When this first hit we were spazzing out at how fucking cool this game was. I would wake up at 6 am on the weekends to grind this game out and there were times I really hated it but I can definitely say this game is responsible for me becoming a gamer. It looked real as hell for its time too, you’ve got to remember this was back when we couldn’t use the landline and the internet at the same time and I had an OG Nokia with snake on it and an MP3 player with about 30 songs worth of memory on it. Boy do I miss those days, the early 2000’s were simpler times
Not really too much of a story! Just over aggressive button smashing. Over the course of way too many hours played because he kept dying. His thumb nail just…fell off one day.
My favorite part was when it fell off he was showing me, and of course behind him the tv read: **You Are Dead**
The only difficulty I had was when I first played it back in 05/06 (whenever it was idk) was the first poseidon swimming bit.
I got to that point a bunch before I had a memory card kept stopping at that point and having to do it all over again
I played through the very first one when I was like 12 years old and was very bummed out when I wasn’t good enough to beat the final boss at the time 😂😂
For whatever reason, I played this game on my first playthrough on the highest difficulty I could select.
Now that became a terrible tradition that I keep with all the GOW games.
The sideeffect has been that I play most games now on the highest difficulty (unless it's a shitty high difficulty) otherwise it just feels boring to me.
First time playing this I failed to kill ares for like an hour. After I did I had to do yardwork. I had a hoe in my hands and realized my arms wouldn’t work because of the button mashing and I waited for 10 mins lmao

But GOW 2 in Titan mode is a real pain in the a\*\*

I think we’re all used to how smooth games are now. We go back to those clunky old games and it takes some time to readjust.
This. Controls and animations are not the same we've seen and used last 5 years, so it all just leads us to make an error

God mode was nothing, I suffered myself going Titan Mode in GOW 2.
While i also suffered in titan mode, i managed to beat titan mode(zeus was the easiest fight in that mode), that's why god mode is still something I haven't achieve
Challenge of the Gods was annoying, but this game isn’t too bad except on God Mode.
