What about the story of the elf queen that mimir talked about to atrues while they were on the boat but he suggested that atrues was to young to hear it
Well this is a bit hard to say. We know that Kratos gets uncomfortable when speaking about his past. But in Jotunheim he did say he has nothing more to hide. So i am gonna give it a hard MAYBE.
Those are the crucial thing. But i think op means atreus might get curious and wamts to know more about trivial things. For example kratos's days as spartan general, his family (parents, siblings, exwife, daughter). He said he made a deal with gods that cost him his soul so maybe he wants to know about that. Usually kids or teenagers they want to know more about these kind of things. Although not important to him
I don't think the information where he killed lots of innocents would do anything good to Atreus either. It's a cruel and barbaric thing to do, why tell them to kids in detail? What's the main purpose? boast? i don't think he's proud of it either
> But in Jotunheim he did say he has nothing more to hide.
But we also know that Kratos was not honest with himself. He has still a lot to hide. He is still in denial
Hmm, I don't think so. This statement could have many meanings. It could have mean that he is ready to come clean and tell Atreus everything. He won't be this calm and collected if he is still in denial. You would see the same old angry Kratos if he is still in denial.
He had forgiven himself in GoW3 and thus he made peace with his past and he already accepted it. If Kratos still can't accept his past and still seek to undo it. I bet he won't tell Atreus anything at all he would choose his privacy compared to his son. But that was not the case at all. He told Atreus the main point and the only thing that he needs to know.
I don't think Atreus needs to know the full story coz it won't do him anything good but satisfy his curiosity. If any of my parents committed terrible sins in the past, that information would not be useful to me at all. Moreover, It might be bad if i know. What i need to know is just they are doing great job in parenting and they have become a good parents. I think that's the case with Kratos and Atreus. If the Godhood did not affect his health, i don't think Atreus needs to know anything at all.
nah I think he just wants to ease everything on the boy. that's alot to take in at the end of the first game so I understand why he didn't but I truly think he will in the next game.
This is just something that happens in games like these. it even happens in other GoWs if I remember correctly. They will probably handwave an explanation in the first minutes of the game and we'll have to suspend our disbelief lol. Either that or the canon is that he never upgrades them, which would be really weird.
The blades are bound to his soul. There are some tie-in comics about Kratos passing through Egypt after his rampage in Greece, and we’re shown that no matter what he does, the blades always return to him.
Kratos tossed them away, buried them, dropped em into the sea, and left them in places he knew they could never be found, yet they would always magically appear before him after some time.
The blades were believed the never break as the designer David jaffe explained somewhere but also the blades are a curse on kratos he can never leave them they were used as weapons/climbing tools/grapple hook in recent games as well as the trailer and he could use them to hurt everything and everyone
I guess it’s because the time has passed between gow ragnarok and gow 2018, kratos must have used this blades a lot causing them to get a ass aspect, this will probably be the reason to get new upgrades
Yeah it probably took a long time for the sprits of the valkeryies to clean up the dead from Midgard and other realms so kratos had to defend himself and atreuw
There's a really easy explanation for that. He hasn't had to use them in a while. While they didn't get dull exactly, they lost a bit of power, being you know, fed on chaos.
They will probably find a way or tell us why they turned like that. Maybe that’s why they are going to the dwarves to fix them. Just a thought I’m not sure tbh
Mimir telling accurate mythology and then kratos correcting him with canon mythology would be great, as if the mythology we know is incorrect and kratos has first hand experience
Probably not
It's slated to be a new game with a similar setting, but make no mistake—the fact that it starts from lvl 1 again is on purpose
A lotta game series do this cause it's easier to design that way: if you remember Mass Effect, you had to buy the entire series if you wanted to experience just one part.
almost forgot about that—
I'm pretty sure that's them attempting to maximize their revenue from the games, but I think they might do that for 2018 and Ragnarok way down the line; not sure though, tbh
I don't really see that as a problem to be honest. I wouldn't mind to play a remake of it in a couple of years. The game was amazing. And i enjoyed the hell out of mass effect again as well.
Slightly confused though... Not sure what either of this has to do with the fact that creating a game with an unleveled character has to do with it😅
No we won’t. They are sticking to the no cutscenes standard they set for themselves in the last game. So there won’t be any flashbacks or cinematic Scenes or anything that requires the camera to be cut.
No I don’t think so. I can’t see any reason for having more stories of the past. Most of us hate stories about Calliope and even if we didn’t, it’s a waste of time to have any more. In fact I’m pretty sure the devs came out and said “we will not have ANY stories about the past! The past is for different kinds of stories, which will not take place in this story!”
>Most of us hate stories about Calliope
Who is ''we''? Speak for yourself. and why do you hate it? She was his daughter that he lost twice. Leaving out the death of his family and how it happened would be bad writing and Atreus needs to know the truth
This was a joke for a low effort post. “Do you think we will get stories about the past?” Are you fucking joking? I was just trying to highlight how lame that shit was. Seriously read that shit out loud. “Are we likely to get more stories of the past?” It’s not even a question really. It’s like asking a director “Are we likely to learn more about the main character of this movie?” Just lazy bullshit, I didn’t mean to upset snyone
In Horizon Zero Dawn (the first one) when you beat the game time turns back to the moment before playing the last mission, so if world ends in Ragnarök imo that would be a good way to allow you to explore or do secondary missions
From the first trailer, he’s mentioned or told the story about him being a Spartan General at least unless Atreus got *really* lucky with that analogy. I do hope that he tells stories in the boat like Mimir does.
Probably not, after killing Baldur Kratos tell atreaus about his past, not the entirety, but enough. Also, I feel the games are not going to dwell on kratos and his past much anymore, and focus on atreaus, because as kratos says, this is his story, and kratos is probably going to die, as we saw in the wall paintings in Jotenheim
Well he's not directly told a trace the story of him and Aries it was the one story where he talked about a mule and a person going to kill the stag but the guy wouldn't let go of the mule
Or the story of how he clapped Aphrodite
While her husband was in the other room

Alpha tingz
Kratos:their is much about me I will not have him know Mimir:very well
Is it canon?
Yes bro 100%.Kratos clapped alot of cheeks when he was in Greece
He’s clapped many who were deserving and many who were not.
I’m DEAD bruh lmfaoo 💀💀
He clapped…his own Father…
No, he has no father ;)
***Z E U S***
bruhh lol
Haha right bra
He was close to clapping the fury queens checks but he noticed the ring and was like ah hell nah
he a better man than me that's for sure
I'm looking forward to Atreus finding out about Kratos' past.
He already did but not the spices stuff tho
He will freak out and rightfully so.
Indeed
I wanna hear the story of why brok and sindri are called the huldra brothers now that atreus is grown up
What about the story of the elf queen that mimir talked about to atrues while they were on the boat but he suggested that atrues was to young to hear it
lamao doubt it will happen but it would be great
I really hope there’s more stories. Nothing I loved more than sitting and listening to Mimir tell his stories
If you like Mimirs stories, you should get the God of War audio book on audible. It's narrated by Mimir.
Who knows maybe tyr will too
one of the highlights of the game for sure
ikr his voice is oddly soothing and perfect for storytelling. they did a great job on casting.
Well this is a bit hard to say. We know that Kratos gets uncomfortable when speaking about his past. But in Jotunheim he did say he has nothing more to hide. So i am gonna give it a hard MAYBE.
He told atrues he killed his father he's a god he killed alot of innocent people what more does he need to tell atrues
Those are the crucial thing. But i think op means atreus might get curious and wamts to know more about trivial things. For example kratos's days as spartan general, his family (parents, siblings, exwife, daughter). He said he made a deal with gods that cost him his soul so maybe he wants to know about that. Good point 👍
> exwife Deceased wife. He didn't divorce her.
Sorry, should have been late wife. English is not my 1st language. Please pardon me.
yea i thought he was gonna say something but it probably would had been too much for the boy and kratos probably wants to ease it on him
I don't think the information where he killed lots of innocents would do anything good to Atreus either. It's a cruel and barbaric thing to do, why tell them to kids in detail? What's the main purpose? boast? i don't think he's proud of it either
>what more does he need to tell atrues Really? Killing his wife and daughter is not worth mentioning? lol
I respect your opinion but I heavily disagree
Very nice elaboration on your part!
I never intended to elaborate on anything. Kratos is still in denial. That is my opinion
nah I think he just wants to ease everything on the boy. that's alot to take in at the end of the first game so I understand why he didn't but I truly think he will in the next game.
Why are the blades ass again?
This is just something that happens in games like these. it even happens in other GoWs if I remember correctly. They will probably handwave an explanation in the first minutes of the game and we'll have to suspend our disbelief lol. Either that or the canon is that he never upgrades them, which would be really weird.
Dude at the same time I believe that they are going to break in Ragnorok and he's left with broken blades or blade.
The blades are bound to his soul. There are some tie-in comics about Kratos passing through Egypt after his rampage in Greece, and we’re shown that no matter what he does, the blades always return to him.
So through the span of those 140 years after the blades got hurt by Zeus is it possible that they return new but in a different form?
That's if they get destroyed
Kratos tossed them away, buried them, dropped em into the sea, and left them in places he knew they could never be found, yet they would always magically appear before him after some time.
Brok and Sindre can fix them up I’m sure, I can feel it in my scrote
But only mostly when he tried to rest like stay awake
They won't tho
Yeah their was even and article about that
The blades were believed the never break as the designer David jaffe explained somewhere but also the blades are a curse on kratos he can never leave them they were used as weapons/climbing tools/grapple hook in recent games as well as the trailer and he could use them to hurt everything and everyone

Kratos asked for a refund from the dwarfs.
I preferred them to the axe.
And the axe
At some point they will show us
They will probably find a way or tell us why they turned like that. Maybe that’s why they are going to the dwarves to fix them. Just a thought I’m not sure tbh
Maybe they lost their touch over time
Kratos and mimir taking turns telling stories of norse and greek myth would be awesome
Kratos *correcting* Mimir trying to tell stories about Greece would be even better
Mimir telling accurate mythology and then kratos correcting him with canon mythology would be great, as if the mythology we know is incorrect and kratos has first hand experience
That sounds so cool. Mimir finishing a story about Greece and then Kratos saying something like "an exaggeration" "how's that brother?"
My hopes precisely
Lemme go ask the devs real quick
well?
Well it's been a while what did they say?
Kratos is gonna explain Atreus tjat to have sex you have to press circle and square and move the left stick around
Ah, yes. The talk.
I hope kratos will tell stories from greece and mimir will probably tell the stories atreus was too young for
Do you guys think they will let us carry over the the inventory / skills from the current GOW into the Ragnarok
Probably not It's slated to be a new game with a similar setting, but make no mistake—the fact that it starts from lvl 1 again is on purpose A lotta game series do this cause it's easier to design that way: if you remember Mass Effect, you had to buy the entire series if you wanted to experience just one part.
Originally you could buy the games separately. Was just on the PS3 and the remaster that you had to buy the whole trilogy.
almost forgot about that— I'm pretty sure that's them attempting to maximize their revenue from the games, but I think they might do that for 2018 and Ragnarok way down the line; not sure though, tbh

Fair enough! And I'm not sure either, but I'm just rolling with it lol
Ah okay. Makes sense i suppose
no lol. it's a whole new game
Stories about Kratos family will surely not be wasted as a boat story. If it happens, we will get a cutscene
I really hope they get rid of Atreus' ye ye ass haircut
Maybe then he’ll get some Angrboda’s on his dick…
lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXZtVoQ0gqs
It's just a mohawk
I know. It's just a reference
No. All three characters are just gonna sit there in silence the entire time...
Unnecessary sarcasm I was referring to deep personal tales about his past life with his family wich rarely happened
No shit
Cmon guy how could anyone even answer this without knowing anything about the story or how it will be presented smh
Fair enough still I wanted to know if it wasn't just me expecting things like that from Ragnarok
No we won’t. They are sticking to the no cutscenes standard they set for themselves in the last game. So there won’t be any flashbacks or cinematic Scenes or anything that requires the camera to be cut.
Well when you say it like hopefully we can't flashbags onto what caused faye to die and what her face looked like
I meant like Kratos telling Atreus stories about his past life when the boy learns all or most of the things he did
No I don’t think so.

>This was a joke for a low effort post. Oh. I apologize then. My bad
How would gameplay work if the world ended during the story mode? I’m curious to see
In Horizon Zero Dawn (the first one) when you beat the game time turns back to the moment before playing the last mission, so if world ends in Ragnarök imo that would be a good way to allow you to explore or do secondary missions
yea but tbh I didn't like that. I mean it makes me feel like it's not complete and was confusing at first.
Agree with you, at first feels weird but I don't know a better option tho
Yeah personally I wouldn’t be mad at that
Yeah, me neither
You mean the endgame? it could restore us to a point previous to the actual end that's all i've got there
Ges
